Zhou Zuizui had just raised her hands to push him away when she felt that familiar presence.

She let out a soft whimper as Shen Nan pressed the back of her head and kissed her deeply. This man’s kiss was still as hot and domineering as ever — turning, pressing, sucking on the tip of her tongue, going deeper, hooking her lips and tongue into a tangle.

Their breathing grew heavy and hot, so clear in the quiet night that it filled each other’s ears.Full novel: His Romance — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Zhou Zuizui grabbed his clothes and kissed him back.

The night was completely silent. Only the two of them stood at the elevator entrance, kissing without any restraint.

After a long while, Shen Nan lowered his head and pecked the corner of her mouth. His eyes were deep as he stared at her, voice hoarse: “Why didn’t you wear more?”

Zhou Zuizui wasn’t actually wearing that little. It was still March, so she had casually grabbed a trench coat, with a black long-sleeve top underneath. At night it was still relatively cold. But dressed like this — slim waist, long legs — she looked especially good, with a kind of cool, mature beauty. Even without makeup her skin was smooth and glowing, fair and clear, making anyone want to pinch and kiss it.

Both their hearts were pounding too fast. Zhou Zuizui steadied herself, then stood on her tiptoes, leaned against his ear, and smiled: “Isn’t that what you’re here for?”

No matter how little she wore, having a human heater next to her was more than enough.

Shen Nan lowered his eyes and looked her over. Her face was flushed red, her lips even more so — red and juicy from his kissing, looking just like jelly, making him want to take a bite. Thinking that, he did exactly that.

“Mm…” Zhou Zuizui winced from the pain and looked up to glare at him: “What are you doing?”

Shen Nan’s throat bobbed. His eyes stayed dark as he stared at her: “Kissing you.”

Zhou Zuizui: “That was biting me!”

Shen Nan gave a low laugh, pulled her into his arms, and held her even tighter. They stayed locked together for a long time before Zhou Zuizui finally asked: “Where are you taking me?”

Shen Nan gave a light scoff and pulled her toward the car: “You’ll know when we get there.”

Pretty mysterious.

Zhou Zuizui followed him into the SUV. Shen Nan only started the car after watching her buckle her seatbelt.

Late at night, a black car sped down the road.

Even in this lively city, the streets at night were much quieter. It was already two in the morning. Zhou Zuizui turned to look out the window. Most shops on the roadside had closed. Only a few 24-hour convenience stores were still open, with one or two scattered customers inside. Some of the clerks were even propping their heads up and dozing off.

Apart from the traffic lights, there was zero congestion on the streets.

At night, even people who weren’t speed demons pressed the gas harder.

She cracked the window a little and looked outside, feeling a bit excited. It had been so long since she went out this freely and relaxed. The last time she wandered around outside this late was more than two years ago, right after she first met Shen Nan. In the old town you never felt this kind of city noise and car sounds.

Most of the time over there was quiet.

Thinking about it, she couldn’t help laughing out loud.

Shen Nan glanced at her: “What are you laughing about?”

“I’m a little happy.” Zhou Zuizui said: “It’s been so long since I came out at this hour.”

Even when she had insomnia, she never thought about going out in the middle of the night.

Shen Nan’s eyes held a smile as he glanced sideways at her: “I can tell.”

Zhou Zuizui laughed, propped her chin on her hand and looked at him: “How come I never noticed before that Captain Shen could be this domineering?”

But somehow, this occasional dominance of his was so attractive.

“It’s a bit far. If you’re sleepy, take a nap.”

“Not sleepy.” Zhou Zuizui was truly excited. This was the time most people felt the sleepiest, but she wasn’t.

The car flew along, past the city center, out of the urban area, and headed toward the suburbs. Zhou Zuizui had no idea where Shen Nan was taking her, but no matter where it was, she felt she could trust the man beside her.

After more than an hour, the car stopped.

Zhou Zuizui stared at Shen Nan in disbelief, almost unable to accept where he had brought her.

“This is…?”

“A forgotten mountain.” He hooked his lips into a smile: “I came here once during training.”

Sometimes their training took them into the wild. This mountain was pretty good — not completely barren, but not many people came here either.

Zhou Zuizui smiled and followed Shen Nan out of the car.

He held her hand and led her to the side. Standing at the top of the mountain, the wind blew hard, but looking down, you could see the most beautiful night view of the entire city — every single light from every home gathered in one glance. It was so beautiful that even from a distance it was stunning to the extreme.

Zhou Zuizui had always known this city’s night view was beautiful, but she had never looked at it so carefully, so seriously before. The person beside her held her hand as they both looked down at the charming city.

“I didn’t know you could see the whole night view from here.”

Shen Nan gave a soft laugh and handed her a bottle of water: “Pretty, right?”

“Very pretty.” Zhou Zuizui’s eyes lit up. She couldn’t help taking out her phone to take photos: “I never noticed before.”

Her eyes curved into a smile as she looked at Shen Nan: “Why did you want to bring me to see the night view?”

“I can’t take you far away anytime soon.” Shen Nan said: “So I brought you to places I’ve been to before.”

Zhou Zuizui froze. She hadn’t expected that reason.

This man seemed to have a reason for everything he did… and at the same time, seemed to need no reason at all. Because she had once said she wanted to see the frontier where he had been stationed, wanted to see the cattle and sheep pastures over there, wanted to see the wind and snow, wanted to see the scenery, wanted to walk the roads he had once walked.

But he couldn’t leave anytime soon, so he brought her here — a place he had trained at — to share it with her.

Shen Nan took off his jacket and put it on her, then wrapped an arm around her shoulders and explained carefully: “That side is where we live. This side is the other part of the city. Over there is the downtown area…” He looked up at the sky, paused, then asked: “Want to get close to the stars?”

Zhou Zuizui’s eyes brightened a little. She looked at him in surprise: “How?”

Shen Nan hooked his lips into a smile and left her hanging: “I’ll take you next time.”

Zhou Zuizui: “…Okay.”

She smiled and stood with Shen Nan looking at the night view.

After watching for a while and soaking it in, Zhou Zuizui couldn’t help asking: “Are we just going to stay here?”

“Of course not.” Shen Nan glanced sideways at her: “Want to go on that winding road?”

She froze and looked at him in shock: “You… know about it?”

“Like exciting games?” he asked back.

Back then she always felt life had no excitement, so she tried every thrilling activity. Racing was Zhou Zuizui’s favorite. But that activity had always been restricted. She liked mountain roads, liked racing in the wild, liked the sound of the engine, liked the wind rushing past her ears.

Shen Nan looked at her: “Still not sleepy?”

“Not sleepy.”

“Let’s go.”

“Where?”

“I’ll take you to experience the mountain road.”

Racing was something she hadn’t done since marrying Shen Nan.

After all, as a military spouse, a lot of dangerous activities still had restrictions. Even without Shen Nan saying anything, Zhou Zuizui was a bit more sensible about these things.

But now Shen Nan was offering to take her on the road she used to race on. They might not be racing, just driving that same road again, and she was still incredibly happy.

They left right away. Shen Nan drove her to the place she used to know so well.

That night Zhou Zuizui once again experienced something she used to love. She drove Shen Nan’s car and took him along the route she used to race. She didn’t go too fast, but not too slow either — like slowly reliving and tasting her past life.

They were sharing their lives.

At this hour there was no one and no other cars on the road.

Zhou Zuizui parked the car halfway up the mountain and looked at Shen Nan: “How’s my driving?”

“Pretty good.” Shen Nan commented, clearly enjoying the way she looked right now: “Want to keep driving?”

Zhou Zuizui glanced over: “I want to take a photo in the middle of the road.”

“I’ll take it for you.”

“Okay.”

Standing in the middle of the winding mountain road, Zhou Zuizui sat on the ground. Shen Nan had spread his jacket for her. She sat cross-legged there. Shen Nan was a total straight man, but his wife was beautiful — no matter how he took the photo, she looked good.

Zhou Zuizui looked at the man not far away who was only wearing one layer of clothes, paused, and called: “Shen Nan, come here for a second.”

Shen Nan walked over: “What’s…”

The moment he got close, Zhou Zuizui reached up, hooked her arms around his neck, pulled him down, and tilted her head up to kiss him.

Her kiss had zero shyness. She just wanted to kiss him, so she did. One of them sat, the other bent over. In the middle of the empty road, under the stars, they kissed. It was almost five o’clock. The first light of dawn was slowly appearing, but people still looked a little blurry.

After she kissed him for a while, Shen Nan’s deepest desire was completely stirred up. His throat bobbed. He suddenly pulled her into his arms and lowered his head to demand more kisses.

His tongue pushed in, tangling with hers.

Zhou Zuizui’s mind went a little blank. She really was kissed until her thoughts stopped, so she just let him do whatever he wanted. They kissed without wanting to stop. She ended up sitting fully on Shen Nan’s lap. Later, maybe because sitting wasn’t comfortable, Shen Nan lay down, and she ended up lying on top of him.

That night, who knew how many times their passion had been ignited.

He held her lower lip, sucking on it like it was jelly. His hands gripped her waist a little tighter.
