“You said earlier that you’ve been an orphan since childhood, correct?” Dumbledore asked.

“Yes.” Blake nodded.

“Then how did you know your surname? Did someone tell you something about it in the past?”Full novel: Hogwarts: Driving Hermione Crazy, Looting Legendary Treasures! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Dumbledore’s gaze shifted slightly, and his expression became more serious.

“No… Actually, before today…”

“I always thought my name was Blake Grin…”

As he spoke, Blake took out the name tag that had always hung around his neck.

This time, he directly removed it from his neck and handed it to Dumbledore.

In truth, Blake also wanted to know exactly what secret was hidden behind this name tag.

“As far back as I can remember, I’ve always worn this name tag.”

“Mrs. Marianne also determined my name based on what was written on it.”

“However, some of the letters had been damaged before.”

“At the time, all that could be made out was ‘Blake Grin.'”

“But for some reason, it restored itself today.”

“Now, the name displayed on it has become ‘Blake Grindelwald.'”

“So my real name should be Blake Grindelwald.”

As Blake spoke, Hermione kept nodding beside him.

Blake had already explained all of this to her earlier.

Blake wasn’t worried in the slightest that Dumbledore would suspect him.

Marianne had personally seen the name tag and knew that it had originally been damaged.

As long as Dumbledore went to the orphanage to ask her, it would be easy to prove that Blake wasn’t lying.

Dumbledore said nothing.

He simply picked up the name tag and brought it close to his eyes, carefully examining every detail.

His crooked, previously injured nose almost touched the surface of the tag.

After a long while, Dumbledore finally pulled his gaze away and returned the name tag to Blake.

“The letters at the back weren’t damaged naturally. Someone deliberately destroyed them.”

“That person also left a simple magical mechanism inside.”

“It was designed to activate automatically once your magical power reached a certain level.”

“When the mechanism activates, the hidden Repairing Charm inside restores the damaged letters.”

Hearing this explanation, Blake immediately understood.

No wonder the name tag had never changed when he had previously used the Repairing Charm on it.

Someone had apparently made special preparations beforehand, preventing an ordinary Repairing Charm from having any effect.

Blake thought for a moment.

Whoever had set up the mechanism might originally have intended for the name tag to become complete after he reached adulthood.

Under normal growth, he really would have needed to wait until adulthood before possessing enough magical power to activate the mechanism.

In other words, that person wanted him to grow up before learning his true surname.

But because of the effects of the newbie gift pack, the magical power within Blake had suddenly increased dramatically.

As a result, the magical mechanism inside the name tag had been triggered prematurely.

His full name had therefore been revealed far earlier than intended.

Dumbledore had clearly thought of a similar possibility and continued asking:

“Oh, you probably don’t understand that term yet.”

“Let me put it in a way that’s easier to understand.”

“When you were fighting the Hidebehind, did you feel as though your strength suddenly became much greater than usual?”

Young wizards could experience accidental magic more than once while growing up.

For example, Harry Potter was once chased by Dudley and the other children, only to suddenly find himself on the roof of the school.

That kind of uncontrollable magical phenomenon was an accidental magic surge.

Generally speaking, such incidents were most likely to occur when a young wizard encountered danger or experienced an intense emotional change.

Hearing Dumbledore’s question, Blake immediately nodded.

There was no way he could tell him about the newbie gift pack.

Since Dumbledore had already provided a reasonable explanation himself, Blake was naturally more than happy to simply acknowledge it.

Dumbledore nodded lightly.

With that, everything made sense.

The Hidebehind’s attack had placed Blake in mortal danger, triggering a brief accidental magic surge.

His magical power had rapidly increased at that moment, allowing his Transfiguration to display an effect far beyond its usual level.

At the same time, the mechanism inside the name tag had also been activated by the sudden increase in his magical power, ultimately restoring the complete name.

Thinking of this, Dumbledore looked deeply at Blake once again.

A single accidental magic surge had actually allowed his power to temporarily reach the level of an adult wizard.
