The flying broom was simply too fast, making it extremely difficult to catch a young wizard moving at that speed.
Fel landed on the ground after his failed dive, and Hermione quickly rushed over to help him up.
Harry and the others all looked anxiously at Neville in the sky.
Meanwhile, quite a few Slytherins were simply enjoying the show.
Malfoy pointed at Neville while grinning maliciously with Goyle and Crabbe.
Fel wiped his face as countless thoughts raced through his mind.
Although he was extremely talented, he had only been studying for a short time, and at the moment he only knew the few spells taught in the first year Charms class.
What could he use?
Fel suddenly shivered as an idea flashed into his mind.
Spells were rigid, but people could improvise!
Fel quickly took off his school robe.
By this point, Neville had flown wildly around before ending up hanging from a statue on top of the castle beside everyone.
“Riiip!”
The sound of tearing cloth rang out as Neville’s robe ripped, sending him falling.
Everyone cried out in alarm, and Hermione nearly screamed.
Fortunately, halfway down, Neville became caught on a wall mounted torch bracket, leaving him still about five meters above the ground!
“Wingardium Leviosa!”
Fel cast the Levitation Charm on the robe lying on the ground, and it quickly floated into the air.
Fel controlled the robe until it reached the spot where Neville was about to fall, letting it hover like a flying carpet about two meters above the ground.
Hermione, who had been watching Fel the entire time, finally realized what he intended to do.
The Levitation Charm could not be cast directly on a human body, so he planned to use the robe as a safety cushion!
The other young wizards simply stood there staring at him in shock, reacting incredibly slowly to the emergency.
Harry also understood what Fel was doing and hurried after him, holding both hands beneath the floating robe.
“Crash!”
Neville slipped completely out of his robe, leaving it hanging behind as he fell.
Fel instantly focused all of his attention, desperately pouring out his magic with everything he had!
The moment Neville’s body touched the floating robe, his fall immediately slowed.
However, Neville’s rather chubby body weighed far more than a young wizard’s Levitation Charm cast on a robe could comfortably support.
Fel instantly felt an overwhelming force crashing into him, and the flood of magic he was pouring out nearly caused everything to go black before his eyes!
At that moment, Neville was only a little over one meter above the ground, directly in front of Fel’s chest.
Harry managed to catch hold of Neville, but the force of gravity immediately threw him off balance!
Instead of foolishly trying to fight gravity with his own body, Fel slammed hard into Neville with his shoulder.
The impact sent Fel staggering backward several steps, while Neville’s falling posture changed from horizontal to upright.
“Ow!”
Neville landed on both feet first but could not keep his balance, falling straight onto his backside with a painful cry.
Harry also grimaced while rubbing his elbow.
Madam Hooch finally reacted.
She hurried over to check Neville and Harry for injuries.
“Child, how are you? Are you hurt anywhere?”
Neville blankly felt around his body before saying woodenly, “N… no. My bottom just hurts a little.”
Harry shook his head.
“I’m fine, Madam Hooch.”
Madam Hooch finally let out a sigh of relief.
Not only did she feel guilty over such a teaching accident, but it was also deeply embarrassing for her.
“Come, child. I’ll take you to the hospital wing.”
Madam Hooch said gently before turning toward Fel with unmistakable admiration on her face.
“Child, what’s your name?”
“Fel Hefis, Madam Hooch.”
Fel answered calmly.
“Excellent, Fel. Because of your rescue, Mr. Longbottom avoided being injured.”
“In recognition of your bravery, I’m awarding Gryffindor twenty points!”
Normally, a Flying instructor only had the authority to award ten points during a lesson, but Madam Hooch was so excited that she essentially gave away the next lesson’s points as well!
“I’m taking Mr. Longbottom to the hospital wing now. If anyone dares to fly without permission, they won’t even get the chance to see Quidditch before being expelled!”
She was naturally just trying to scare the young wizards.
Unless there was major destruction or someone died, Hogwarts would never expel a student.
As Madam Hooch led the still bewildered Neville away.
Everyone finally came back to their senses, and Ron immediately threw his arms around Fel while shouting excitedly,
“Fel, you’re amazing!”
All the Gryffindor students excitedly gathered around him.
Seamus looked at him with complete admiration.
“Fel, you’re so smart!”
Everyone crowded around Fel, cheering continuously like a pride of lions surrounding their Lion King.
“Fel! Fel!”
Hermione proudly held her head high, looking as though she herself was the one receiving all the praise.
Meanwhile, the Slytherin students wore expressions as though they had just eaten a Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Bean that tasted like snot.
Cheering did not seem appropriate, but mocking him seemed even less appropriate.
They might dislike Gryffindor, but saving someone’s life was a universally admirable act, and anyone would respect and admire such bravery. Get faster updates on g.com.
Malfoy proudly turned his head to one side with a dismissive expression on his face.
Yet from the corner of his eye, he kept secretly glancing at the surrounded Fel.
A trace of jealousy filled his eyes.
Merlin, this scene was exactly what he had always dreamed of!
Yet over the past few days, apart from Crabbe and Goyle, the two followers his father had arranged for him in advance because of their families’ connections, he had failed to gain any other followers.
Nor had he managed to draw any attention to himself.
He disliked Harry, the Boy Who Lived, for embarrassing him.
He despised Hermione for being a Mudblood who nevertheless constantly outshone him.
As for Ron, there was even less to say because the grudge between their families went back to their fathers’ generation.
And now, Malfoy’s list of people he envied had gained another name.
Fel had achieved exactly what Malfoy desperately wanted but could never obtain.
His overwhelming jealousy drove him to make everyone notice him.
Just then, he spotted Neville’s Remembrall lying on the ground.
Picking it up, he smiled at the Slytherin students and said,
“See this? If that fat lump had remembered to touch his Remembrall, maybe he wouldn’t have done something so stupid!”
The Gryffindor students immediately turned to glare at him.
Because of Fel’s actions, the nature of the incident had completely changed, and with Fel taking the lead, Gryffindor was now even more united than in the original story.
Harry was already upset that he had been unable to save his friend, so when he saw Malfoy mocking Neville like this, he immediately became angry.
“Give me the ball, Malfoy!”
Being ignored was one thing, but now that everyone was paying attention to him, Malfoy became even more arrogant.
“No. I’m going to hide it and make him look for it!”
With that, he mounted his flying broom, skillfully circled once, and flew into the air.
“Well, Harry? Is it too high for you to reach?”
Malfoy sneered.
Fel was certain Malfoy’s flying talent was not naturally this good.
That meant Malfoy had genuinely practiced flying at home before coming to Hogwarts, one of the advantages of being born into a wizarding family.
Unfortunately, many Half-blood and Pure-blood wizards failed to appreciate those advantages!
“Oh, and what about Mr. Hefis? I wonder if your flying skills are as impressive as your spellcasting?”
Malfoy looked at him provocatively.
Ron could barely hold himself back.
If Malfoy had not already flown into the air, Ron would have charged over and taught him a lesson.
As for Fel and Harry, there was even less to say.
Fel felt that someone was asking for a beating.
