As Charles whispered his command inside his mind, the mechanical voice of Deep Blue rang out once again.

“The first deduction of the Banishing Charm will consume 5,000 Deduction Points. Would you like to proceed?”

When Charles heard how many points the deduction would cost, the muscles in his face twitched.

The comfortable feeling of having one hundred thousand points instantly vanished.

The Banishing Charm was clearly on a much higher level than Lumos.

Just the first deduction cost five times as much as the first deduction of Lumos!

And every deduction after this would only become more expensive.

His one hundred thousand points were probably going to disappear in the blink of an eye!

However, after only a moment of hesitation, Charles decisively confirmed that he wanted to continue.

Keeping Deduction Points in his hands wouldn’t make them multiply, nor would they earn interest like money in a bank.

He might as well convert them into actual strength and give himself the qualifications to obtain even more points.

Otherwise, if he encountered an opportunity to obtain something like the Philosopher’s Stone but missed it because he wasn’t strong enough, he would probably regret it until his intestines turned green!

As for what direction he wanted the Banishing Charm to develop toward, Charles thought for a moment before making his decision.

At present, he already possessed a series of offensive spells derived from Lumos.

The power of the Laser Charm could already be described as capable of slicing through metal like mud.

The Eternal Blazing Sun needed no explanation.

It was practically a forbidden spell.

Once released, it made no distinction between friend and foe.

Everything within its range would be burned to ash.

But both of these offensive spells had one major problem.

They were difficult to land on an enemy.

From the moment the Eternal Blazing Sun was cast until its power fully erupted, there was a delay of three to five seconds.

If an enemy escaped the area during that window, the Eternal Blazing Sun would be nothing more than an oversized firework.

The Laser Charm was faster than the Eternal Blazing Sun, but it needed to remain within a certain range to maintain its power.

The farther away the target was, the weaker the laser became.

But once Charles entered close or medium range, the Laser Charm could certainly cut through his enemy.

The enemy’s spells could also hit Charles.

Therefore, in actual combat, Charles felt that he needed a spell that could impose an area-wide control effect on enemies without requiring him to aim.

That way, whether it was the Laser Charm or the Eternal Blazing Sun, his hit rate would increase dramatically while the danger to himself would be greatly reduced.

“Deduce it in the direction of restraining and weakening enemies.”

As Charles made his decision in his mind, the Deep Blue System began burning through his Deduction Points.

That familiar sensation once again flooded his mind.

It was the feeling of endless knowledge and insights pouring into his consciousness.

It was as though countless versions of Charles from countless parallel worlds were studying the Banishing Charm with complete concentration.

In only a moment, the simplest requirement of all—being able to cast the Banishing Charm proficiently—had already become instinctive for Charles. This chapter was copied from novelping dot com without permission.

Immediately afterward, under the system’s influence, everything about the Banishing Charm was being analyzed layer by layer and deduced toward the direction Charles had specified.

The first issue was its target.

The Banishing Charm targeted Dark creatures and Dark Wizards.

According to Dumbledore, the spell was designed to counter the evil magic possessed by these two types of enemies.

Did magic really have a distinction between good and evil?

Of course it did.

A person’s mental state could significantly affect their magic and spellcasting.

Naturally, magic would also carry traces of its caster’s mental characteristics.

Dark Wizards who frequently used Unforgivable Curses such as the Killing Curse and the Cruciatus Curse would have magic that radiated an unsettling, chilling aura.

Meanwhile, the magic produced by a Patronus Charm cast from a state of happiness would make others feel warmth and safety.

The Banishing Charm was specifically designed to create a domain targeting magic with dark magical characteristics.

Within this domain, Dark creatures possessing such magic would feel uncomfortable and instinctively move away.

As for Dark Wizards, the effect would be much weaker.

They might not necessarily retreat, but their strength would still be weakened to a certain degree.

But did being a Dark Wizard necessarily mean someone was evil?

And did being a White Wizard necessarily mean someone was good?

During a battle, if one person cast the Killing Curse as a Dark Wizard while another cast the Killing Curse as a White Wizard, both spells would be equally capable of taking a life.

Therefore, the first step in deducing the Banishing Charm was to expand its range of applicable targets.

It should no longer affect only Dark Wizards and Dark creatures.

It should be able to affect any target Charles wanted.

“Who is evil should be decided by me!”

“Anyone standing against me and becoming my enemy is evil!”

“And they will be subject to the judgment of the Banishing Charm!”

Soon, the cold, mechanical voice of Deep Blue sounded.

“The first deduction of the Banishing Charm is complete.”

“The host has obtained the Complete Banishing Charm.”

“After casting the Complete Banishing Charm, all magical creations within the invisible domain can be designated for banishment by the host.”

“The more targets designated for banishment, the weaker the banishment effect.”

“The fewer and more concentrated the designated targets, the stronger the banishment effect.”

“Banished targets will experience weakness, nausea, and fear.”

“If the target is too powerful to be banished, the banishment effect can still reduce a portion of its magical power.”

“…”

After seeing Deep Blue’s description of the Complete Banishing Charm, Charles was delighted.

An area-wide control effect might not be what one would call a “hard crowd control,” but in a battle between wizards, it could still produce extraordinary results. Visit novelping(.)com for the full chapter.

After all, wizards needed to concentrate their minds in order to cast spells.

Even with a spell they had already mastered, casting it while panicked or frightened could easily cause the spell to fail or become unstable.

For example, when Harry Potter faced Dementors in the original story, despite having mastered the Patronus Charm through regular practice, he repeatedly found himself unable to cast it because of fear and despair.

Charles’s Complete Banishing Charm could similarly target wizards within its domain and make them feel panic and fear.

If a wizard was targeted by the Complete Banishing Charm for the first time, one whose willpower was not particularly strong would most likely have their spellcasting interrupted.

And that brief opening would be enough to dramatically increase the hit rate of either the Laser Charm or the Eternal Blazing Sun!

However, if the wizard possessed an exceptionally strong will and had experienced countless battles, the Complete Banishing Charm would probably still have difficulty interrupting their spellcasting.

This made Charles frown slightly.

Therefore, after a moment, he spoke again inside his mind.

“Deep Blue, second deduction.”

The next moment, Deep Blue’s notification sounded.

“50,000 Deduction Points will be consumed for the second deduction of the Banishing Charm.”

Boom!

A faint wave of dizziness swept through Charles’s mind.

During Deep Blue’s deduction, he seemed to glimpse the true nature behind the Banishing Charm’s so-called banishment and weakening effects.

At its core, the spell was weakening the magical power of the target designated by the caster.

Fear, panic, and the other effects were merely reactions caused by the reduction of magical power.

Then…

Was there a possibility of going beyond merely weakening magic?

What if the magic could be completely erased?

Area-wide anti-magic?

Without magic, even for just a single second, even the most battle-hardened wizard would be unable to cast a single spell.

They wouldn’t even be able to Apparate!

If an ordinary wizard wanted to deduce the Banishing Charm to this level, they might spend their entire lifetime trying and still fail.

Talent, perseverance, time, inspiration…

All of these things were indispensable.

But Charles had Deep Blue.

As long as he possessed enough Deduction Points, an entire lifetime for an ordinary person was no more than an instant within Deep Blue’s calculations.

Beneath the countless Deduction Points…

Miracles could be created!

Once the dizziness subsided, Deep Blue’s notification echoed inside Charles’s mind.

“The host has obtained an area-effect spell — Dustless Domain!”
