At this moment, Professor McGonagall wasn’t the only one filled with anticipation.

Charles was just as excited.

Wands were something that could make even Harry Potter fans in Charles’s previous life incredibly excited whenever they talked about them.Full novel: Hogwarts : Unlimited Curses — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Many Harry Potter enthusiasts online would visit mysterious fan-made websites to determine what kind of wand was best suited to them.

Some would even have a wand specially made for them online, just to fulfill their fantasy of waving a wand and casting magic.

Charles hadn’t been quite that obsessed with it in his previous life.

But in this life, wands actually existed.

And the boost they provided to a wizard could only be described as unparalleled.

A wizard without a wand would have great difficulty even casting spells.

Although some highly skilled wizards were capable of wandless magic, its effects were worlds apart from using a wand.

Take Charles, for example.

Through his repeated deductions of the Lumos and Banishing Charms, his understanding of both spells had already reached a level unprecedented in history.

Casting either spell without a wand was not impossible for Charles.

But even something as basic as Lumos placed an enormous burden on him when performed wandlessly.

With Charles’s current magical power, he could only produce a tiny flame-like glow at his fingertip.

Its practical usefulness was almost nonexistent.

In fact, it wasn’t just Charles.

Even wizards of Dumbledore’s and Voldemort’s caliber could hardly consider a wand replaceable.

They possessed the ability to cast magic without wands, but rarely did so.

Presumably, this was because the energy consumption was too high while the results were relatively poor.

Therefore, possessing a wand that truly belonged to him was currently the most important thing for Charles.

Following Professor McGonagall, Charles soon arrived at the only wand shop in Diagon Alley.

The shop was small and shabby.

A single wand lay alone on a faded purple cushion in the display window.

The golden lettering on the door had already begun to peel away.

It read:

“Ollivanders — Makers of Fine Wands Since 382 B.C.”

When they entered the shop, there was nothing inside except a long bench.

Thousands of long, narrow wand boxes were stacked almost all the way to the ceiling.

Professor McGonagall called out.

An old wizard soon emerged from the back.

Naturally, this was Ollivander, one of the three greatest wandmakers in Europe.

When he saw Charles and Professor McGonagall, Ollivander, who had already experienced countless Hogwarts shopping seasons, put on his practiced, enthusiastic smile.

“Ah-ha!”

“Another young wizard here to purchase a wand.”

“Believe me, an Ollivander wand will never disappoint you—”

Before he could finish the opening line he had probably repeated hundreds of times, Professor McGonagall interrupted him.

“Mr. Ollivander, this is Charles.”

“Headmaster Dumbledore asked me to tell you something.”

“Charles’s talent is beyond expectations.”

“In fact, it even exceeded his own expectations.” This chapter was taken from novelping.com without permission.

“He said you should be prepared for a challenge.”

“This time, finding the right wand may be even more difficult than when you chose his wand.”

Hearing this, Ollivander’s voice suddenly caught in his throat.

An unmistakable look of shock appeared on his face.

He had made hundreds, even thousands, of wands throughout his lifetime.

But only a handful of them had gone on to accompany famous wizards.

One Dumbledore had been enough to make Ollivander famous throughout the magical world and firmly establish his reputation as Britain’s greatest wandmaker.

Before that, there had still been several wandmakers in Britain who were willing to compete with Ollivander.

But after Dumbledore revealed his astonishing magical talent to the wizarding world, Ollivander only needed a single sentence to end any wandmaking dispute that might once have required hours of argument.

“What do you mean, Dumbledore?”

And now, a young wizard whom even Dumbledore had praised as a genius had appeared before him?

After the initial shock, excitement immediately followed.

In Ollivander’s eyes, this truly was his lucky year.

The famous Chosen One, Harry Potter, hadn’t even arrived yet.

And already, a young genius like this had walked into his shop.

He was certain that from this point onward, the reputation of Ollivanders would become even more unshakable.

Who does that German wandmaker Gregorovitch think he is?

He dares to put himself on the same level as me, Ollivander?!

Ollivander immediately stood up and excitedly walked toward Charles.

He enthusiastically measured Charles’s arm, hand, and various physical characteristics while asking about his habits and preferences.

After Charles answered each question, Ollivander fell into an excited contemplation.

Every now and then, he muttered quietly to himself, apparently considering what kind of wand would best suit Charles.

At this point, Charles spoke up.

“Mr. Ollivander, my situation is somewhat special.”

“So I also have some special requirements when it comes to my wand.”

“I can tolerate almost anything when it comes to the wand’s power.”

“But it absolutely must possess tremendous durability and be capable of withstanding the most powerful or extreme magical force imaginable.”

“What I mean is…”

“Even if light as powerful as the sun itself were to erupt from the tip of the wand, it must be capable of enduring it perfectly.”

“…”

Before Charles could even finish, Ollivander laughed and waved his hand.

“Mr. Charles, perhaps you don’t quite understand how the Ollivander family chooses wands for wizards.”

“We don’t select wands according to a wizard’s requirements.”

“Instead, we draw upon the experience accumulated over countless years to match a wand to the wizard’s personality and spirit.”

“This has been proven countless times throughout the history of wizardkind.”

“You should trust my expertise.”

“As for whether a wand will be unable to withstand the magical power of a spell…”

“I can guarantee you that such a thing will never happen!”

With that, Ollivander casually took several wand boxes from the shelves.

He opened one and pulled out a wand made of beech wood with a dragon heartstring core.

He handed it to Charles. Get faster updates on g.com.

“Here.”

“Give this one a try.”

Charles paused.

He didn’t immediately reach out to take it.

After all, the wand he wanted needed to be capable of withstanding at least the Eternal Blazing Sun Charm, which was currently his strongest spell.

The wand he had obtained from Dark had developed cracks after casting just one spell.

After barely managing to cast a Laser Charm with it, the wand had shattered completely.

Charles was therefore rather skeptical about whether the wand Ollivander had just taken out could actually withstand his power.

He looked at Ollivander and confirmed once more.

“Mr. Ollivander, are you certain its durability is sufficient?”

“What if it breaks later?”

“You won’t make me pay for it, will you?”

An absurd smile appeared on Ollivander’s face.

He suddenly found Charles rather adorable.

Perhaps, once Charles became famous throughout magical history, Ollivander could bring up this conversation as an amusing anecdote.

Ollivander then made a gesture indicating that Charles could do as he pleased.

He spoke with absolute confidence.

“If the wand breaks, I’ll give you ten wands for every one you break.”

“Trust me, Mr. Charles.”

“No one understands wands better than I do!”

Charles froze for a moment.

He stared at the wand in front of him.

Then a thought suddenly appeared in his mind.

Previously, merely licking the Elder Wand a few times had given him an extremely generous number of Deduction Points.

These ordinary wands obviously couldn’t compare with the Elder Wand.

But they were still valuable magical objects.

In fact, they were probably among the most expensive possessions that the vast majority of wizards would ever purchase in their entire lives.

Both the wand wood and the wand core were magical materials containing magic.

If he ate one, the Deduction Points he could obtain would probably be far greater than what he received from St.

Mungo’s magical recovery meals.

Charles immediately gave Ollivander an embarrassed smile.

“Mr. Ollivander…”

“Then I’ll have to thank you.”

Ollivander froze.

“???”

This kid…

He’s surprisingly polite?
