The things inside it could absolutely make him even more invincible in this world.

To become, in the truest sense, a Homelander utterly invincible in this world.

As for obtaining Hero Points, there were two methods in total.Full novel: Homelander: Founding the Hero Association — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The first—acting as a champion of justice.

That is, just like a superhero: cracking down on crime and maintaining public order.

You earned Hero Points according to the type of crime you stopped and the degree of what you saved.

For instance, with petty thefts that only caused minor loss of property, you’d get the most basic single Hero Point.

But if you ran into a murderer about to strike, endangering someone’s life, then you could earn up to ten points.

Under normal circumstances, it fluctuated between 1 and 10 points.

And the second method—peaceful economy.

By maintaining peace in a given region, each day you could earn Hero Points amounting to one percent of that region’s population.

These two methods complemented each other.

The best approach was to clean up a region through acts of justice, then enjoy lasting stability and a steady income.

Still, if he wanted to earn a large amount of Hero Points through the latter, there was no way he could handle it all by himself alone.

‘I’ve walked a path that’s the complete and utter opposite of Vought Corporation.’

Alex gazed at his system, lost in thought.

Vought would absolutely never allow the crime rate to drop.

If the crime rate truly fell, superheroes would lose their purpose.

This was also why nearly every one of their operations was basically staged for the cameras—in reality, those so-called superheroes had no effect whatsoever on lowering the crime rate.

“Sir?”

“Mr.

Homelander?”

Just as Alex was lost in thought, Ashley’s cautious voice broke into his musings.

He looked up to see Ashley with a stiff smile plastered on her face, watching him nervously.

“Have you decided on a candidate you like?”

The moment the words left her mouth, Ashley, terrified of being misunderstood, hurriedly explained again.

“I’m not rushing you—if you’re not satisfied with any of these candidates, I can help screen other ones for you.”

“There are quite a few others in the Super Hero Teen League who are also pretty good…”

Looking at the expressionless Homelander, with no idea at all what the other man was thinking, Ashley grew more and more nervous the more she spoke.

“Oh, relax, Ashley.”

Snapping back to himself, Alex saw how nervous Ashley was and couldn’t help but laugh.

“I have no intention of putting any pressure on you.”

“As for the candidate, let’s go with her—Annie January.”

As Alex spoke, he set the tablet in his hand down on the desk.

On the screen, a blonde, blue-eyed girl in a white-and-platinum combat suit was smiling happily.

Compared to the others, Starlight—someone whose background he knew inside and out—was naturally the best choice, and whether in looks or figure, she was extremely easy on the eyes.

“Understood, sir.

Is there anything else?

If not, I’ll go report your decision to the company.”

Faced with Homelander’s such abnormal behavior, Ashley was screaming endlessly inside.

Every single cell in her body was, at this moment, desperately wanting to get away from the man before her.

Yet on the surface, she still had to struggle to maintain her respectful, composed demeanor.

“Mm, go ahead.”

Hearing this, Ashley nodded toward Alex and was just about to leave.

“Oh, by the way.”

That single sentence made her body stiffen once more, her blood seeming to turn ice-cold.

“Go and relax properly.

And remember to be cheerful while you’re at work.”

Alex winked at Ashley, teasing her.

“Yes, sir, I will.”

Watching Ashley finish speaking and then stagger off as if fleeing, Alex found it rather amusing.

As for Ashley, this Queen of Stress-Tolerance, he believed most working people could empathize with her to some degree.

After all, the feeling of being oppressed by your boss was truly unbearable.

In his past life, as a beast of burden himself, he had been no exception.

Now, looking at this representative of the working class, he simply couldn’t resist teasing her a little.

Having sent Ashley off, Alex swiveled his chair to gaze out the window at New York’s streetscape, sinking into thought.

The current him had two directions to work toward in total.

First, the cheat ability.

Second, Compound V—the first-generation compound.

There was no need to say much about the first-generation compound; it was something he absolutely had to get his hands on.

No aging, combined with his strength—in this world, it would truly be hard to die even if he wanted to.

The cheat ability, meanwhile, could guarantee the complete elimination of that last little bit of anything capable of threatening him.

Things like the superhero virus, for instance, or the chest-cannon.

As for exactly how to do it, that still required some serious consideration.

At the very least, it was better not to get too cocky at this stage.

After all, the current him still couldn’t withstand the virus if he ran into it.

As for now.

Alex stretched lazily, preparing to go out and have a good look around.

Having reincarnated as Homelander, he still hadn’t properly experienced what these superpowers felt like.

Thinking about it, it really was rather something to look forward to.

Alex stood up, about to leave, when the lounge door was lightly knocked upon.

Casting his gaze toward the door, his super vision’s see-through ability rendered the door as good as nonexistent in his eyes, letting him clearly see a middle-aged woman in a white blouse with short golden hair standing at the entrance.

Once he saw the other person’s face clearly, the corner of Alex’s mouth twitched slightly.

Madelyn Stillwell.

A Vought Corporation executive.

She was also the one Vought used to manipulate Homelander by exploiting his mother complex.

The two of them had done a whole series of disgusting things enough to shatter anyone’s worldview.

“John.”

“May I come in?”

Alex furrowed his brow, swiftly searching through the memories in his mind.

Yet he found nothing about why Madelyn would suddenly show up.

“Come in.”

Alex said it offhandedly, sitting back down in his chair.

Standing at the door, Madelyn heard Alex’s words; her sapphire-blue eyes flickered, but her face still maintained its gentle expression as she pushed the door open and walked into the lounge.

“What is it?”

Alex slumped himself into the chair, both legs propped up on the desk, his posture lazy and casual.

“Can’t I come to see you even when there’s nothing going on?”

Madelyn smiled, coming over to Alex’s side and speaking tenderly.

Her blue pencil skirt leaned lightly against the edge of the desk; she bent down, her collar parting slightly to reveal a hint of cleavage, then reached out and lightly tapped her finger against Alex’s chest.

This whole series of movements she performed quite naturally and practiced, as though she had been through it countless times before.

Madelyn knew very well her standing in Homelander’s heart, and exactly how to make him release the desires and emotions within.

“I ran into Ashley on my way here.

I heard you’ve already picked out a candidate?”

Madelyn’s voice carried a hint of huskiness and a low tone, her finger circling round and round on Alex’s chest as she spoke.

The atmosphere, too, seemed to grow ambiguous along with her movements.
