Drifting in the void of space, Bronya stared blankly down at the dead, silent Earth.

is dead.”Full novel: Honkai: How The Hell I Become Demon King!?? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She whispered to herself, tears falling silently from the corners of her eyes.

“It wasn’t me…

It really wasn’t me…”

Despair consumed Bronya’s heart.

She had watched with her own eyes as her body was hijacked, executing a cold and terrifyingly efficient slaughter of countless humans.

Even the Herrschers had been thoroughly wiped out.

‘I kinda wanted to spare them, but to play it safe, killing them off is better.’

Bronya recalled hearing ‘herself’ say those exact words.

She couldn’t comprehend how ‘she’ could be so cruel, showing such utter contempt for human life!

But now, nothing could be undone.

Everything was over.

“No!

Wait!

Bronya still has a way!

Time!

Right, a time machine!

The other Bronya once designed a time machine!

Bronya can go back to the past and undo all of this!!!”

In the depths of her despair, something sparked in Bronya’s mind.

Like a drowning person clutching at a final straw of hope, she began desperately recalling the blueprint for constructing a time machine.

“Sister Bronya, is something wrong?”

Noticing Bronya’s strange behavior, Gray Wind materialized behind her and asked with concern.

However, when Bronya turned around, her eyes were filled with remorse, despair, and burning fury as she glared at Gray Wind.

“You…?

You’re not Sister Bronya!”

Gray Wind froze for a split second before her expression turned hostile, her eyes flashing blood-red.

“Who the hell are you?!

Where is Sister Bronya?!”

“You awful accomplice!”

Bronya had witnessed Gray Wind slaughtering humans alongside her alternate self.

In the destruction of human civilization, the other Bronya was the mastermind, and Gray Wind was accomplice number two!

“Enough!”

A crisp, sharp voice barked out.

Bronya suddenly found herself completely frozen in place, unable to move a muscle!

Gray Wind was immobilized as well, though Gray Wind quickly broke free of the stasis field on her own.

A mini-version of Bronya, looking identical to a miniature Bronya, teleported right next to them.

“She is Bronya too,” Project Bunny explained to Gray Wind with a blank face.

“What kind of joke is that?”

Gray Wind scowled, her brow furrowed tight.

“She can’t even break a basic stasis field. New chapters come out on g.com first.

How could she possibly be Sister Bronya?!”

Bronya was straining with all her might to break free of the stasis field, but she had zero clue how to tap into her powers.

It was like possessing a vast, boundless ocean of energy, but only knowing how to scoop it out with a tiny plastic spoon.

“She is Bronya, just the version before becoming the true Herrscher of Reason.

The real Sister Bronya isn’t here anymore,” Project Bunny said, casually lifting the stasis field holding Bronya.

“The other Bronya?!

Where is the other Bronya!”

Bronya demanded urgently.

“I don’t know,” Project Bunny shook her head.

“Besides, if Sister Bronya’s location was known, Bronya should already know it.

After all, Sister Bronya and Bronya are the exact same person.”

After Project Bunny spoke, both she and Gray Wind turned their gazes simultaneously toward Bronya.

“Me…?

I know?”

Bronya stood there, utterly dumbfounded.

“But I…” She was about to say she had no idea, but a super faint coordinate suddenly popped into her head.

“I think…

it’s really, really far away,” Bronya muttered.

Gray Wind was instantly overjoyed.

Looks like this Bronya occupying Big Sister Bronya’s body was actually useful after all!

“Hand over the coordinates!

Quick!” Gray Wind demanded right away.

“No!”

Bronya flatly refused without missing a beat.

Gray Wind puffed her cheeks in frustration.

“With current Bronya’s capabilities, it’s impossible to reach it anyway,” Project Bunny chimed in smoothly.

“Are you trying to build a time machine, Bronya?

To undo everything?

How many centuries do you think it’s gonna take you to build one on your own?”

Project Bunny had been listening from the start, striking right at Bronya’s weakest spot.

Bronya froze on the spot.

She barely understood the Herrscher of Truth’s power inside her, let alone how to wield it properly or how long it would take to build a functioning time machine.

“We can help you build your time machine, but you gotta take us to find Big Sister Bronya!” Gray Wind chimed in while the iron was hot, playing along with the scheme.

Total scam, of course.

Big Sister Bronya had mentioned before that time travel could never actually take you back to your own timeline’s past—it only ever drops you off in some nearly identical parallel universe.

So even if Bronya managed to build a time machine, she’d just end up in another parallel world.

Unaware of the catch, Bronya fell silent for a long moment before finally nodding.

“Fine.

I’ll help you find the other Bronya.

But until then, you follow my rules—no more killing humans!” Bronya declared slowly.

“Deal.” Both Project Bunny and Gray Wind agreed without a second thought.

Only Big Sister Bronya actually mattered to them.

They couldn’t care less.

Besides, the condition was just ‘don’t kill humans.’ As for what counted as human…

well, that was pretty flexible.

8 Years Later

Over the years, under the guidance of Project Bunny and Gray Wind, Bronya had grown fairly proficient in wielding the power of the Herrscher of Truth.

Though according to the two AI lifeforms, her current level was barely scraping what Big Sister Bronya could do before she even became the Herrscher of Truth.

Still, it was more than enough for now.

“Project Bunny, prepare for departure,” Bronya commanded from the captain’s chair aboard the Project Bunny flagship, a hint of excitement lacing her voice.

Finally.

She could finally reverse all of this!

Bronya took one last look back at the completely lifeless Earth behind them.

“Understood,” Project Bunny replied with a nod.

“Warp drive engaged!”

The Project Bunny flagship burst into a blinding light.

Since their destination was way beyond the Sea of Quanta universe, nestled in some far-off cosmic realm, they’d have to execute several ultra-long-range inter-universal warps.

However, once they left this specific world within the Sea of Quanta, even if the flagship could warp back to the broader multiversal tree, returning to this exact ruined world would be nearly impossible.

Neither Project Bunny nor Gray Wind had bothered saving the coordinates of this destroyed planet.

Naturally, they kept that detail to themselves.

The journey across universes was excruciatingly long, but with two digital lifeforms and a Herrscher aboard—none of whom were human—lifespan was literally a non-issue.

Along the way, they witnessed sights across countless universes.

In some, humanity reigned supreme as absolute masters of the cosmos; in others, alien races dominated entirely.

Bronya was even surprised to spot an emblem of a human religion in one universe’s Milky Way—one identical to the silver gear and mechanical skull symbol left behind by the other Bronya.

That universe was brutally grim for humanity, filled with hostile races and cosmic terror entities everywhere in both realspace and the Warp.

Sympathetic to their plight, Bronya dropped off a bunch of reality stabilization anchors designed to counter Warp incursions for the Adeptus Mechanicus cult before continuing her voyage.

As the Project Bunny flagship closed in on Bronya’s coordinates and entered the solar system of this target universe, Bronya intercepted a flood of local data feeds, prioritizing Earth and Sol system broadcasts.

“Honkai Impact 3rd?

miHoYo?

Game characters?”

Bronya blinked in astonishment, though she wasn’t entirely shocked.

Information leaks across parallel worlds happened all the time; she’d even seen universes with multiple variants of herself.

Still, finding a universe with data this detailed about other worlds was definitely rare.

“Let’s head to the far side of the Moon first.

We shouldn’t disturb the humans on Earth,” Bronya said softly, staring at the peaceful planet.

Project Bunny nodded.

Gray Wind was eager to move, but with Bronya mastering her powers, pulling off sneaky maneuvers under her nose was getting pretty tough.

The flagship fired up its wormhole generator, slipping silently through space from the system’s edge straight to the far side of the Moon.

“Huh?”

Bronya suddenly picked up signals from a human lunar probe and an autonomous rover gaily rolling across the lunar regolith.

Since the flagship hadn’t bothered turning on its cloak or stealth fields upon arrival, its grand exit from the wormhole had been caught in 4K resolution by the rover’s cameras.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, space agency staff in a certain major Eastern nation were staring at the incoming photos and telemetry data, sweating absolute bullets.
