The Stellaron Hunters was a new company that had only emerged in the past few years.

In terms of history and accumulated prestige, it naturally couldn’t compare to the old, established websites.

But when it came to money, it was certainly no worse.Full novel: Honkai: I Really Never Intended to Start a Harem! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The scale of its headquarters alone made that obvious.

Li Yedao followed Kafka and Firefly through the main entrance.

The young receptionist barely even looked up when she saw him.

He had been here so many times that the way he swiped his card and passed through the security gate looked more practiced than that of some actual employees.

Besides…

Who in the entire Stellaron Hunters company didn’t know that Li Yedao was someone the director had a soft spot for?

Sigh…

somehow wandered straight into the royal household~

Li Yedao couldn’t be bothered waiting for Kafka at the elevator.

Since the system still had his old visitor information saved, he slipped into the elevator first and headed straight for the floor where Silver Wolf worked.

Firefly followed without hesitation.

Kafka was left outside as the elevator doors slowly closed.

Watching the two disappear from view, she smiled indulgently.

“Still like a child who hasn’t grown up.”

Silver Wolf’s office door was open.

Game sound effects drifted out from inside every now and then.

When Li Yedao reached the doorway, he found her curled up in an ergonomic chair with both feet tucked onto the seat.

Her phone was held sideways in both hands as she played with complete concentration.

The entire floor was busy working.

Meanwhile, her office looked more like a private room in an internet café.

Li Yedao immediately felt offended.

I haven’t even gotten to relax yet.

What gives you the right to be this comfortable?

He silently walked up behind Silver Wolf and stood there for about thirty seconds.

Then he began offering commentary.

“You used that skill too early.”

“That positioning was obviously wrong.”

“If that were me, I would’ve cleaned them all up already.”

Every single sentence struck Silver Wolf exactly where it hurt.

Fun fact:

Everything Li Yedao said was true.

“God, are you done yet?!”

Silver Wolf slapped her phone onto the desk and looked up to glare at him.

“Do you seriously have to hold a grudge this long?”

“I even helped you get a girlfriend!”

She genuinely couldn’t take it anymore.

But what truly hurt wasn’t having someone nagging beside her.

It was the fact that once she thought about it…

Li Yedao was right about everything.

Lies don’t hurt people.

The truth is the sharpest blade.

Proving indirectly that she sucked at games was far more brutal than simply calling her bad.

And when Silver Wolf noticed Firefly secretly laughing from the doorway, her mood became even worse.

Every miserable thing that had happened to her lately could ultimately be traced back to this woman.

Firefly hurriedly turned her head away.

Unfortunately, the corners of her mouth simply refused to stay down.

“Alright, alright.

I’ll stop messing with you.”

Li Yedao sighed and magnanimously decided to forgive Silver Wolf for the time being.

Mainly because he didn’t want to watch anymore.

If he kept watching her play, he was afraid he would start laughing from secondhand embarrassment.

Li Yedao pulled over a chair and sat down.

He casually picked up a stress-relief toy from Silver Wolf’s desk and squeezed it.

“What companies came by today?”

“Kafka said I know the person handling one of the copyright negotiations.”

Silver Wolf rolled her eyes and picked her phone back up without looking at him.

“Someone you know?”

“Probably Schicksal.

Weren’t you working there just a few days ago?”

Schicksal…

Li Yedao’s hand stopped squeezing the toy.

The first image that appeared in his mind was Kiana’s goofy face.

Holding a plate of curry rice.

Cheeks puffed out.

Shouting—

“Old Li, hurry up and come eat!”

He quickly dismissed that possibility.

Copyright negotiations were way beyond Kiana’s intellectual pay grade.

Then that meant…

“Stop thinking about it.”

Silver Wolf didn’t give him time to continue.

“You already quit anyway.

Hurry up and play a few rounds with me.”

She tossed her phone straight into his arms with enough force to resemble a grenade throw.

Li Yedao looked down at the phone.

Then at Silver Wolf’s unconvinced face.

The corner of his mouth curled upward.

For a bratty little gamer gremlin like this, the best punishment was naturally to bully her until she cried inside the game.

But just to be safe…

“Firefly, sit next to me.”

“Okay.”

Firefly’s eyes immediately lit up.

She hurried over and sat right beside him.

…

…

Elsewhere, Kafka had already finished meeting with the representatives regarding the adaptation rights.

The other party’s identity was somewhat special.

So she temporarily decided not to bring Li Yedao over.

Instead, she would bring the representative directly to him.

The two women walked down the hallway toward Silver Wolf’s office.

Before they even reached the door, they could already hear someone howling inside.

“AAAAARGH!

I’M SO MAD!”

“You two are ganging up on me!

That’s not fair!”

“Quit whining, Silver Wolf.” Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.

“A minute ago you were cheating and calling yourself Lord Wolf.

What happened to all that ‘Lord’ energy now?”

“I DON’T CARE!”

“And you too, Firefly!

How could you help him instead of me?!”

“…Yedao is my boyfriend.”

Kafka stood outside the doorway.

The smile on her face didn’t move in the slightest.

Durandal stood beside her.

After two seconds of silence, she offered an extremely tactful evaluation.

“Your company’s working environment is…

quite lively.”

Normally, Kafka would have opened the door, walked inside, and immediately dealt with whoever was causing trouble.

But today was different.

Li Yedao was inside.

And she also had a guest standing beside her.

Kafka took a deep breath.

Still smiling, she replied,

“…Yes.”

The two pushed the door open.

Just in time to witness Silver Wolf biting Li Yedao.

Silver Wolf couldn’t beat him in an argument.

She couldn’t beat him in a fight either.

So in a fit of embarrassment and rage, she grabbed Li Yedao’s wrist and sank her teeth straight into it.

Li Yedao’s face twisted in pain.

He shoved at her head with his other hand while shouting, “Let go!

What are you, a dog?!”

Durandal frowned.

She turned toward Kafka.

Kafka was taking deep breaths.

Her chest was rising and falling far more noticeably than usual.

It was obvious that she was putting tremendous effort into suppressing a certain impulse.

“Ahem.”

Durandal cleared her throat.

Silver Wolf and Li Yedao froze simultaneously.

Still locked in their positions of biter and bite victim, they slowly turned toward the doorway.

“Durandal?”

Li Yedao blinked.

Now he understood.

So she was the acquaintance Kafka had mentioned.

Durandal hadn’t directly overseen his department back at headquarters.

But she was part of management and a direct member of the Kaslana family.

Within Schicksal, she could go to practically any department she wanted.

Bringing a copyright negotiation team here was completely normal for someone in her position.

Durandal gave him a slight nod.

A faint smile touched her lips.

“Long time no see.”

Seeing that the two of them knew each other, Silver Wolf immediately released his wrist and sprang away from him.

She calmly adjusted her sleeves as though absolutely nothing had happened.

Firefly’s gaze rapidly moved back and forth between Durandal and Li Yedao.

Her brows drew tighter and tighter together.

“Yedao.”

Firefly tugged lightly at the corner of his shirt.

She didn’t say anything.

She simply tilted her face up and stared at him.

She wasn’t angry.

She looked wronged.

Her entire expression clearly said—

Just because I’m not asking doesn’t mean I don’t care.

You’d better explain this properly.

Li Yedao helplessly smoothed out the fabric she had wrinkled and whispered, “She was one of my superiors when I still worked at Schicksal.”

“She’s a good person.

Don’t overthink it.”

Durandal nodded toward Firefly in greeting.

After that…

Her gaze never left Li Yedao again.

Kafka rubbed her temples.

She was beginning to feel that bringing Li Yedao to the company today had been an enormous mistake.

Her eyes moved toward Silver Wolf.

Then toward Li Yedao’s wrist, where Silver Wolf’s teeth marks were still clearly visible.

Silver Wolf had been…

A little too close to him just now, hadn’t she?

“Firefly.

Silver Wolf.”

“You two step outside for a moment.”

Kafka’s tone remained gentle.

But both women clearly heard the unspoken message beneath it.

Don’t make me repeat myself.

“Got it…”

Silver Wolf had lost the game and humiliated herself on top of it.

Head lowered, she slunk miserably out of the office.

Firefly remained where she was for another two seconds, staring at Durandal.

Only then did she turn and leave.

Her steps were noticeably slower than usual.

The office door closed.

Kafka sat down beside Li Yedao.

Durandal took the seat opposite them.

She opened her briefcase and placed a contract in the center of the coffee table.

“I’ve already discussed the major terms with Miss Kafka.”

Durandal pushed the contract toward him.

“Yedao, take a look and see whether you have any additional requests.”

Kafka frowned slightly.

Even so, she quickly summarized the revenue split and several important clauses for Li Yedao.

The royalty percentage was considerably higher than the standard industry rate.

Considering how generous Schicksal had always been with money, Li Yedao didn’t think much of it.

He pushed the contract back.

“Kafka can decide.”

The corner of Kafka’s mouth curved upward.

Her entire demeanor visibly softened.

Durandal, however, did not take the contract back.

Instead, she stared at Li Yedao for quite some time.

Her brows drew together slightly.

It was as though she were trying to read a book whose cover refused to open.

Finally, she asked,

“What exactly is your relationship with Miss Kafka?”
