Sirin had absolutely no idea why the dread waves from Seiya were gone and she wasn’t about to complain.

I mean, she still didn’t particularly dislike the feeling of dread.

It was from Seiya after all.Full novel: Honkai Impact 3rd: Honkai Shift: Should’ve Paid Attention! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

That automatically put it up to a ten in the ‘Sirin favourability Index’

‘Brother used it to protect me and crush my enemies.

10/10, would recommend!’

Chibi Sirin left a beaming review in her head, an ‘UmU’ look upon her face.

Though…looking around at the modernistic house, Sirin wondered, where exactly was she..?

A white haired man stepped forward, wearing a black jacket.

His blue eyes glistened in the verdant green background of the backyard, contrasting delicately with the milk-white walls of the estate.

Upon recognising him, Sirin stiffened and raised her guard.

This was the man who had attacked her with fire earlier.

And was with that shameless seductress!

“Well…I suppose I can’t really blame that Cecilia woman.

Anyone would want big brother after all.”

Sirin pre-emptively came to her own conclusions on Cecilia’s intentions, unaware of her pre-existing relationship with the man who now stood before her.

“Oi!

Who are you, little lady?

And why are you loitering outside our lawn!?”

“It’s my Kiana’s birthday!

I can’t have any uninvited guests come to ruin it!”

Sirin blinked.

This man had a child and was a father?

And he’d still come to fight her?

A goddess of destruction?

Did he…not want to live?

Was this his way of…going to get milk, as her darling brother so eloquently put it?

As Siegfried was about to advance forward, intending to send this ne’er do well on her way, he was interrupted by a white-haired girl with light blue eyes.

The hair fell beneath her waist and curled inwards.

She wore a loose white sun-dress, with a straw hat atop her head.

Grabbing Siegfried by the collar, she chided him relentlessly.

“Darling, are you truly that careless to not even remember your own daughter?”

Cecilia scolded him with a bemused look upon her face.

Sirin recognised her instantly, and summoned a void lance from the imaginary space to combat her.

[Seiya] wasn’t here, so unfortunately, going easy on her wasn’t an option by letting her fight the dragon instead.

Cecilia blinked with a tilted head at the summoned lance and waved her hand dismissively.

“Put that away, honey.

Now’s not the time for that.”

She spoke with a caring, maternal smile.

Sirin was confused as all hell as she reluctantly lowered her lance, more in utter bewilderment rather than in obedience.

What was going on here?

And then she realised, coming to a scandalous conclusion.

She gasped as she pointed at Cecilia with her ring finger, losing her fighting spirit.

“You’re married?

With a child!?

And still going after brother!?

Shameless!

Disgraceful!

Unfaithful!”

“This adulterous harlot is attempting to seduce my brother.”

She backed away slightly, more disconcerted by this, than by the fact that the woman had charged at her with a lance naught a few moments prior.

Seiya had told her to stay away from people like that.

Disloyal people who betrayed their partners without a second thought.

A look of disgust appeared across her face as she looked down upon Cecilia.

Cecilia visibly panicked, and flailed her hand and armed in front of her, a blush spreading wildly across her face.

This isn’t how she expected this to go!

Cecilia, although an S-rank Valkyrie, was primarily an innocent and sheltered young lady prior to her marriage.

She had never been involved in any scandals, and her reputation was good enough to where she had never been accused of being unfaithful to anyone.

To whoever had even jokingly accused her of such, Shigure Kira had made sure that they’d never be able to make such jokes again.

At this, Siegfried laughed openly, endeared by his wife’s panicking.

Never did it occur to him for an instant that what Sirin was speaking of was actually true.

After all, wasn’t it normal for a daughter to tease her mother incessantly?

[Fenghuang Down curled, like a monkey’s paw]

‘You wanted her as a daughter?

You got it!

Have fun dealing with teenage angst with Seiya not here to control her!’

Since Cecilia had never considered nor drawn Seiya in her memory, [Fenghuang Down], which had been using Cecilia’s memories as a basis for the illusion, was unable to add him for it.

Siegfried patted his flailing wife on the head with a grin, which calmed her down.

Cecilia breathed a sigh of relief.

Good.

She didn’t want even illusion Siegfried to hate her.

Siegfried walked forward, intending to pull Sirin into a hug as an apology for forgetting her.

Surely his beautiful daughter was magnanimous enough to forgive her forgetful, careless father?

Cecilia beamed in delight.

The plan was working perfectly!

Surely Sirin, who had most likely not known the love of a parental figure would be drawn to the affection that Cecilia and Siegfried could offer her as parents.

The Poor Herrscher had most likely been mistreated her entire life, and that was what had caused her to awaken.

If they could grant her a bit of familial love, then it must be possible for her to live as a regular teenage girl!

This was Cecilia’s thought process.

Providing Sirin with a family and familial bonds to bond her to earth, overriding the destructive desires that overcame her as a Herrscher.

She mentally cheered on as Siegfried approached Sirin, who had her head down, her hair covering her face, golden eyes not visible, though Cecilia assumed they were beginning to fill with tears and Sirin was just shy.

“…How..dare you..”

Sirin muttered out quietly as Siegfried leaned in playfully, cupping his left ear as he bent downwards towards Sirin.

The violet-haired girl was still looking downwards, towards the ground.

Cecilia looked on as well, subtly noting her gripping the Void Lance with more force but not thinking much of it.

Sirin pierced Siegfried with the lance in one fell swoop, mercilessly eliminating him.

He shattered into countless fragments of what appeared to be glass and light as Honkai energy emanated from every orifice of Sirin.

All three gems and the core of Void outputting extreme amounts of Honkai energy.

Sirin yelled out in rage, her piercing voice ringing through the entire estate as the illusion started to break from the sheer overload of Honkai energy now starting to course through it.

Cecilia was blown back by the winds unconsciously generated by the [Gem of Desire] as a response to Sirin’s rising emotions.

Moisture glistened at the corner of her eyes, droplets coalescing to form tears as she shook with rage.

“How dare you think someone else could take his place?”

[How dare you…HOW DARE YOU TO TRY TO REPLACE HIM!!?]

The illusion shattered, overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of the scorned void queen.
