“What do you mean?”

“I…

well…

um, the family just received a ransom letter from kidnappers.

Madam is currently gathering cash.

We thought…”

“Huh?

What kidnappers?

I just went out for a walk.

You didn’t get scammed, did you?

Forget about that for now.

I’m tired.

I’m going to take a bath.

Prepare dinner.”

In the presence of the dignified maid’s respectful posture, Angel, now wearing the appearance of a beautiful young heiress with a graceful figure, strolled leisurely into the quiet, elegant manor villa.

The body had been found in the back of the jeep.

It was a bit cold, but that did not prevent the Herrscher core from inhabiting it.

So Angel decisively overcame her psychological resistance and slipped into a new disguise.

The false version of an inheritance battle: masters exchanging blows, no bloodshed, top-tier maneuvering, dazzling to behold.

The real version of an inheritance battle: once all your siblings are dead, you’re the heir.

But this really is our lucky day!

I never expected to get a legitimate and influential identity so easily.

Ah, heiress in heaven, thank you!

So, how do we repay her?

By sending her enemies to meet her in person, of course.

So they can apologize face to face!

From the heiress’s memories, this family is full of terrible people anyway.

We’re just acting on behalf of heaven.

Hehehe!

In the Theater of Domination, the Angels slung their arms around each other and let out a chorus of comically villainous cackles.

Click.

Angel stopped mid-stride, as if suddenly remembering something, and snapped her fingers to summon the maid behind her.

“Oh, and buy that clothing company on Nishishita Pedestrian Street for me.

I like their clothes.

They have good taste.”

“Yes, Miss.”

…

Pfft!

In the morning at St.

Freya, Angel was clutching the hem of Himeko’s jacket, following her to the living room just like the night before, when she suddenly burst out laughing.

Himeko turned around as she walked.

“What are you laughing at?”

“You snored last night.”

“What?

No way!

Wait, did I really snore?

You’re not lying to me, are you?”

Pfft!

Angel kept her blank expression and laughed again.

She had no idea whether Himeko actually snored.

She had slept too soundly.

But suddenly coming into a windfall like that was enough to make anyone laugh with joy, right?

But Himeko believed her.

She looked a bit dazed, unconsciously touching her face.

It was still smooth and fair, but she felt a sudden, crushing sense of aging.

“Already getting older, drinking too much, buried in work, and now I snore too.

Doesn’t that mean…”

Didn’t that mean she was even more undateable?

A little figure inside Himeko’s heart was biting a handkerchief.

Even though she had long accepted that her end would likely be on the battlefield, as a woman, she simply could not accept being unwanted.

Angel tugged at Himeko’s jacket and said in a flat voice:

“I don’t mind.”

“Hm?”

“Even if you snore, I won’t mind.”

Angel spoke slowly and deliberately, sounding exceptionally sincere.

And in fact, she meant it.

Himeko’s bed was just so warm and comfortable that Angel loved it!

I’ve decided.

I’m going to crash with her again tonight.

Completely unaware of the little schemes running through Angel’s head, Himeko only felt that this child was growing more and more trusting and attached to her.

Her slightly desolate heart felt greatly soothed by Angel’s earnest little expression.

“Such a good girl.”

Himeko smiled and ruffled Angel’s hair.

By now they had reached the living room, and Kiana suddenly popped her head out from beside Himeko.

“Hey, you two seem to have gotten super close all of a sudden?”

Angel pressed herself against Himeko and circled around to the other side, putting distance between herself and Kiana.

Himeko looked at Angel beside her, then at Kiana on the other side, and laughed:

“This little one couldn’t sleep alone in the middle of the night, so she hugged her pillow and came to crash in my bed.

What do you think?”

“I just think you’re someone I can trust.”

Angel kept her head down, emphasizing her current stance once again.

I actually trust all of you.

So me trusting Himeko is the absolute truth.

My beloved waifus, I’m not lying!

Kiana tilted her head, her big blue eyes blinking slowly.

“Doesn’t that make her just like a little kid?

Hey, I think I’m starting to see your cute side, Angel!”

“You’re the kid!”

“Haha, don’t be shy!

We’re classmates living under the same roof now.

Let’s be friends!”

Kiana circled around Himeko and reached out toward Angel.

But Angel instantly darted to a corner of the wall, peeking out with half her face, her expression blank and wary as she stared at Kiana, as if ready to bolt and hide if she came any closer.

Kiana blinked again, looked at her own hand, and said blankly:

“Why though?

Is it because we fought before?

I forgave you already.

Can’t you be just as forgiving as me?”

Kiana refused to give up and came closer, extending her hand toward Angel.

Smack!

Kiana rubbed her reddened hand and stomped her foot in frustration.

“What are you doing~~”

“Hiss!”

“I’m not going to hit you!”

“HISS!!!”

Angel raised her hands like claws and made threatening noises, like an angry cat.

Don’t come any closer.

Even if I’m just pretending, I’m a sensitive, wary, traumatized cat right now.

I don’t want to hurt you, but I will scratch you!

“Hiss!”

“Come out already!”

They stood frozen in the corner like that.

Until Himeko, laughing uncontrollably, came over and wrapped her arms around Angel’s body, pulling her out of the corner.

Angel nestled obediently into Himeko’s intoxicatingly soft embrace, using every ounce of willpower to keep from grinning and drooling like an idiot.

Himeko, meanwhile, gave the disgruntled Kiana a smug raise of her eyebrows.

“Looks like I’m just more charming than you, little girl.

You’re still way too green!”

“Hmph!

I don’t believe it!”

Kiana scratched her head, her eyes darting around, then suddenly curled her lips into a grin, as if she had just come up with a brilliant idea.

…

That night, Angel slipped into Himeko’s bed just like the night before.

But tonight, there was an extra addition to the covers.

Besides Himeko, there was also a soft, squishy white-haired dumpling.

“Hehe!

Finally caught you!

Let’s see you hide from me now!”

Kiana squished Angel’s cheeks, utterly delighted by their soft, squishy texture.

Angel: “(ᗜ‸ᗜ)…”

What else could Angel do?

With Himeko’s soothing presence, she could only “suffer” through Kiana’s closeness.

In the days that followed, she was forced to “suffer” through the same treatment from Raiden Mei and Bronya.

It wasn’t just in bed either.

She had to “endure” it even in the bath.

Utterly “unbearable”!

And so, Angel seamlessly integrated into this unconventional little family, signed her enrollment agreement, and became classmates with Kiana and the others.

(T/N: Truly “suffering” for a great cause.)
