Surprisingly, Mythus did not become angry when Aha tampered with the Event.
Perhaps the Aeon of Enigmata possessed remarkable patience and refused to lower themselves to Aha’s level.
Or perhaps Mythus knew that confronting Aha would only create even more chaos.
Whatever the reason, Mythus merely watched Kai in silence and waited for her decision.
Herta frowned at the two altered choices on her screen.
She had known this would happen.
The moment Aha became involved, something always went wrong.
Every Simulated Universe experiment related to Aha produced bizarre errors, corrupted data, or inexplicable changes to the system.
Aha and Mythus were the Simulated Universe’s most destructive comedy duo.
Either one could derail an entire experiment.
Now both had appeared at the same time.
What Herta had not expected was for one cosmic menace to start pranking the other.
She could only hope Mythus would not take their frustration out on Kai.
Otherwise, Herta would have no choice but to terminate the test.
Still, something about the situation bothered her.
Both were Aeons.
Why could Aha interfere with a reward created by Mythus?
Did the two of them share some hidden connection?
Perhaps there were still countless secrets concerning the relationships between Aeons that no mortal had uncovered.
Aha actually appreciated Mythus.
The unknown created surprises.
Of course, those surprises could also become horrifying disasters.
That had never stopped Aha from treating every Aeon in existence as a potential source of entertainment.
Aha’s mask floated closer to Kai.
“Well, little Kai.”
“Is Aha not generous?”
“You can receive every Blessing of Enigmata without doing anything.”
“Choose quickly.”
“There is no need to thank Aha.”
Thank Aha.
Kai would rather thank the void for trying to kill her.
Aha clearly had terrible intentions.
The Aeon wanted Kai to accept the altered reward and provoke Mythus into attacking her.
Then Aha would float nearby and enjoy the show.
Trying to trick Kai would not be that easy.
Kai planted both hands on her hips and glared at the orange-red mask.
“Student Aha.”
“Your behavior is completely unacceptable.”
“You cannot simply rewrite another Aeon’s rewards without permission.”
“You are officially the worst Aeon Kai has ever taught.”
Kai suddenly resembled an exhausted instructor lecturing the most disruptive student in the universe.
Mythus released a quiet laugh.
The Aeon immediately recorded this new piece of fabricated history.
Fuli’s crystalline light shifted.
A Light Cone silently began forming within the Aeon of Remembrance’s hands.
Six-Star Light Cone.
Aha’s Strictest Teacher.
Inside her office, Herta stared at the display in disbelief.
Had Kai always been this fearless?
She was lecturing an Aeon.
Worse, she was lecturing the Aeon who had granted her power.
This was Aha, the Aeon of Elation.
Was Kai not afraid that Aha might erase her with a single gesture?
Herta kept her finger close to the emergency termination control.
At the slightest indication that Aha intended to harm Kai, she would end the simulation immediately.
Aha did not become angry.
Instead, thunderous laughter filled the library.
“Hahahahaha.”
“Aha was scolded by Kai.”
“Aha has lost so much face.”
“Aha has lost so much face.”
“Quiet.”
“Kai is teaching a class.”
“Stop disrupting the lesson.”
Kai’s clothes instantly transformed into the formal outfit of a strict academy instructor.
A long pointer appeared in her hand.
Everyone knew that disruptive students required discipline.
Kai swung the pointer at Aha’s mask.
“Bonk.”
The mask began spinning through the air like a toy top.
“Aha became a top.”
“Aha has lost so much face.”
“Hahahahaha.”
“You are still laughing.”
“Have you learned your lesson?”
“Bonk.”
“Bonk.”
“Bonk.”
Kai delivered several more corrective taps.
Aha’s mask darted wildly through the air as though trying to escape its furious instructor.
“Aha understands.”
“Teacher Kai, please forgive Aha.”
Kai nodded with satisfaction.
“Much better.”
Mythus said nothing.
The Aeon merely continued rewriting history.
Fuli said nothing.
The Aeon merely continued engraving the Light Cone.
Herta also said nothing.
Then Herta found her voice.
Her mind had nearly stopped functioning.
Aha’s mask now floated obediently behind Kai like a student who had finally decided to behave.
Was that truly Aha?
When had the Aeon of Elation become so cooperative?
Why had being struck made Aha even happier?
A terrible possibility entered Herta’s mind.
Did Aha possess the same strange interests as Kai?
Herta suddenly understood why Kai had become an Emanator of Elation.
…
Once her troublesome student had settled down, Kai nodded and selected the first option.
“Class, pay attention.”
“Kai’s lesson in completely unreliable history is beginning.”
Mythus, Fuli, and Aha gathered around Kai like three strangely obedient students awaiting a lecture.
Kai cleared her throat.
“According to a suppressed historical account, Yaoshi and Lan were once a deeply devoted couple.”
“They even had a child named Lauma.”
“Yaoshi eventually fled because Lan’s endless demands became unbearable.”
“Lan misunderstood the situation and believed Yaoshi had betrayed their relationship.”
“Heartbroken and furious, Lan began pursuing Yaoshi across the universe and demanded an explanation.”
“Yaoshi knew they shared some responsibility for the misunderstanding, so they continued avoiding Lan.”
“And that is the true story of Yaoshi and Lan.”
“Kai’s class is over.”
Herta stared at the screen.
That story was not merely unreliable.
It had escaped history entirely and entered a different dimension.
At this rate, Kai was more suited to becoming an Emanator of Enigmata than Elation.
Mythus nodded in apparent satisfaction.
The Aeon raised one hand.
A sphere of radiant energy flew into Kai’s body.
Countless Blessings immediately appeared within her simulated form.
An overwhelming power began surging through her.
Kai clenched her hands.
She felt absurdly powerful.
Aha burst into delighted laughter.
“Hahahahaha.”
“Kai.”
“Aha, never realized you shipped Yaoshi and Lan.”
“No wonder Aha appreciates you so much.”
“Yaoshi is gentle and beautiful.”
“Lan is brave and magnificent.”
“They are clearly perfect for each other.”
“Hahahahaha.”
Nearby, Fuli silently completed another Light Cone.
Herta finally allowed herself to relax.
Everything appeared to be going well.
All three Aeons seemed satisfied.
The Event would probably end soon.
There was no need to continue testing after this.
The first official trial of the Simulated Universe had already achieved more than Herta could have imagined.
The data collected from three Aeons would require a considerable amount of time to analyze.
Kai had also been forced to stand before three Aeons simultaneously.
Even if she appeared relaxed, the experience must have been exhausting.
Herta decided that Kai deserved to rest.
Kai had made this extraordinary result possible.
Herta would need to thank her properly once she left the simulation.
Perhaps she could allow Kai to sleep in her lap again.
Just once.
Then the Simulated Universe began shaking violently.
The original three Aeons had not yet departed.
Two additional presences suddenly manifested within the simulated space.
Yaoshi.
The Aeon of Abundance.
Lan.
The Aeon of the Hunt.
Herta stared at the screen.
Two more Aeons had arrived.
What was happening?
Were the Aeons organizing a full team inside her Simulated Universe?
Even Kai appeared stunned.
They had actually come.
Hearing an absurd story about themselves should not have been enough to draw Yaoshi and Lan into the simulation.
Kai had originally planned to call upon Yaoshi and request immortality.
That would have attracted the Aeon of Abundance.
Lan would probably have followed shortly afterward.
There was a significant chance that Kai would receive one of Lan’s famous arrows for her trouble.
However, Aha might have protected her for the sake of preserving the entertainment.
Even if Aha refused, Herta would never allow Kai to be harmed.
Most importantly, there would then be five Aeons inside the Simulated Universe at once.
Herta wanted to study Aeons.
Five should provide more than enough research material.
Could the Simulated Universe survive such a gathering?
That was Herta’s problem.
The important thing was that the Aeons had appeared.
Kai had not even begun her plan, yet Yaoshi and Lan were already present.
Aha must have done something.
Kai immediately turned toward the orange-red mask.
Aha finally lost all restraint and erupted into manic laughter.
“Yaoshi is gentle and beautiful.”
“Lan is brave and magnificent.”
“They are clearly perfect for each other.”
“Hahahahahahaha.”
