“Hogwarts?”

“My dear little sister,” she said, enunciating each word slowly, her voice carrying a cruel sense of satisfaction, “you will never have the chance to go to Hogwarts again.”

Jonah’s pupils contracted sharply, and all the color drained from her face in an instant.Full novel: HP: I Opened a Wish Shop in Diagon Alley — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“No… don’t…” She shook her head, tears pouring down her cheeks.

“Sister, I was wrong!

I really was wrong!

Please let me go!

I’ll never do it again!”

She began to beg for mercy, crying like a terrified child.

But the coldness in Luna’s eyes did not melt in the slightest.

She raised her wand, its tip aimed at Jonah, who was collapsed on the floor.

Luna knew very well that Jonah had not realized her mistake.

She had only realized that she was about to die.

The wand trembled slightly, as if it too could feel the murderous intent surging within its master’s heart.

“You should never, ever have killed Rabbi.”

Luna’s voice was terrifyingly calm.

Every word was like an ice spike dipped in poison, stabbing into Jonah’s heart.

“I didn’t want it to come to this.”

She looked at Jonah’s terrified face, and a complicated emotion flickered in her eyes.

It was the last remaining bond between sisters.

“But what you owe Rabbi must be repaid.”

Jonah finally felt the threat of death.

She began to scream, her voice shrill and desperate.

“No!

Don’t kill me!

Sister!

I was wrong!

I really was wrong!

Please let me go!

I’ll never dare do it again!”

Snot and tears streamed down her face.

All of her previous arrogance and spoiled pride had vanished, leaving her looking like a dog begging for mercy.

The surrounding nobles also began to panic.

They had not expected Luna to be serious, much less that a “Squib” could unleash such terrifying magic.

Someone tried to step forward and stop her, but Luna’s icy gaze forced them back.

What had happened to Avery and Abrak moments ago was still vivid in their minds.

No one was willing to risk their own life.

“Too late.”

Luna softly spoke those two words, completely extinguishing the last trace of hesitation in her heart.

Rabbi’s eyes, always timid yet kind, flashed through her mind.

For Rabbi.

She closed her eyes.

When she opened them again, only icy killing intent remained in her light gray pupils.

The magic within her body surged wildly toward the wand, and a faint green light began to glow at its tip.

That green light was unlike the softness of Lumos, and unlike the scorching heat of Incendio.

It carried a deathly chill, as if it could devour all life and hope in the world.

“Avada Kedavra.”

Luna’s voice was very soft, yet it carried clearly throughout the entire banquet hall.

A flash of sickly green light, like the forked tongue of a venomous snake, shot from the tip of the Inkshadow Wand.

It tore through the dim curtain of rain, carrying the breath of death as it rushed straight toward Jonah.

Jonah’s scream came to an abrupt stop.

Her eyes widened, her face still frozen in an expression of terror and disbelief.

Yet her body instantly stiffened, as if every trace of life had been drained from it.

A few seconds later, she fell straight to the ground.

Her pupils were unfocused.

She was no longer breathing.

“Hiss—”

The entire banquet hall fell into a deathly silence, leaving only the sound of the guests sharply drawing in cold breaths.

Everyone seemed to have been struck by a Petrification Charm.

They stared blankly at the scene before them, their faces filled with absolute terror and disbelief.

“No… impossible…” Avery Rosier slumped in his chair, his trembling finger pointing at Luna.

“She… she used an Unforgivable Curse…”

“It was the Killing Curse!

One of the three Unforgivable Curses!”

“A Squib… how could she use the Killing Curse?!”

“She’s terrifying… She’s not human… She’s a demon!”

Fear spread like a plague.

The pure-blood nobles who had been mocking Luna just moments ago were now trembling all over, retreating one after another, terrified that the girl holding the ink-black wand might set her eyes on them.

The way they looked at Luna no longer held contempt or arrogance.

Only fear.

Fear that had seeped deep into their bones.

The Unforgivable Curses were dark magic explicitly forbidden by the wizarding world.

Anyone who used one, once caught, would inevitably be sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban.

And yet, a girl who had been believed to be a “Squib” had not only suddenly gained magic, but had also skillfully used the Killing Curse…

It completely overturned everything they thought they knew.

Outside the windows, the rain continued to beat tirelessly against the glass, as if playing the final lament for this bloody revenge.

Luna stood beside Jonah’s corpse, wand in hand, her chest rising and falling violently.

She looked at Jonah lying on the floor, then at her unconscious parents and the trembling guests.

There was no pleasure of revenge in her heart.

Only a vast, hollow numbness.

She had done it.

She had avenged Rabbi.

But why did her heart hurt so much?

Rainwater poured in through the open doors, soaking the floor at her feet.

Luna lowered her head and looked at her trembling right hand.

The hand that held the wand still seemed to carry the icy chill of that green light.

She had killed someone.

She had killed her own little sister.

That realization was like a massive stone pressing heavily against her chest, leaving her almost unable to breathe.

“She… she killed someone…”

No one knew who let out that trembling cry, but it shattered the deathly silence.

The crowd instantly erupted into chaos.

The nobles screamed, shoved one another, and fled madly toward the doors, desperate to escape this bloodstained place.

The way they looked at Luna was no longer filled with contempt or curiosity.

It was fear, deep to the bone.

A “Squib” who could cast an Unforgivable Curse.

A demon who had killed her own sister with her own hands.

Luna did not stop them.

She simply stood there quietly, watching the miserable backs of those pure-blood nobles who usually stood so high above others as they fled in panic.

A mocking curve appeared at the corner of her mouth.

The rain fell harder and harder.

She turned around and walked to the entrance, then carefully picked up Rabbi’s body, wrapping him even tighter in that old, tattered cloth.

“Rabbi, let’s go.”

Luna spoke softly, her voice carrying a nearly imperceptible sob.

Holding Rabbi in her arms, she walked step by step through the gates of Fawley Manor and into the boundless curtain of rain.

Her silver-gray hair was completely soaked, clinging to her back, cold enough to pierce her bones.

Behind her, in the banquet hall, lay her family.

An unconscious father.

A mother paralyzed with fear.

A younger sister she had killed with her own hands.

That place had once been her home.

Now, it had become the grave that buried everything from her past.

From this day forward, she no longer had a home.

Nor did she have any family.

All she had left was Rabbi, and this bloodstained Inkshadow Wand.

Luna raised her head and looked at the sky shrouded in dark clouds.

Rain struck her face, mixing with her tears as they slid down together.

She did not know where she was going.

Nor did she know what the future would become.

But she knew one thing.

She had to live.

Carrying Rabbi’s share with her.

Carrying the weight of this revenge.

She had to keep living.
