Third Person POV
Hogwarts.
...
...
The streets of London were busy in the early morning. People were heading to their jobs, cars and buses passed along the main avenues, and, in the middle of the crowd of muggle workers moving forward to start their days in their companies, there was a young man standing among them.
He was off to the side, leaning against a pole, near a bus stop, silently observing ahead of him, with a hood covering part of his face, completely ignoring the people around him.
It was Severus Snape.
His eyes were fixed on the main police station in London, there were several smaller units spread throughout the city, but this was the main one. He had chosen it for being close to the club where he worked.
That morning, he was there with the intention of studying the place.
There was a constant flow of police officers going in and out, some clearly busy with urgent tasks. There was also the movement of people being taken inside in handcuffs — probably drunk individuals or those who had caused some kind of disturbance.
He observed everything carefully.
Then, he disappeared from the crowd without leaving any traces.
In the next instant, he appeared at the top of one of the buildings next to the station, observing the place from a new perspective. The construction had about 1200 square meters, a three-story building made of bricks with an architecture well suited for the 70s in England... He analyzed everything through the openings of the windows around the building.
"Good… I’ll have to do this," he murmured.
Upon noticing an opportunity, he simply disappeared again, appearing inside the building with a faint sound. He reappeared beside a man dressed in the uniform of the London police, who fell to the ground in fright.
Severus appeared beside him. The man tried to scream, but his mouth was completely sealed with a spell.
"Sorry about this, but I need to understand exactly the structure of the place," Severus said calmly.
The officer tried to react, bringing his hand to his weapon, but Severus was faster.
"Petrificus Totalus." The man's body stiffened immediately.
Severus approached, wand in hand, pointing directly at him.
"Legilimency." The spell was cast, and the man's mind was invaded.
This was a training Severus had been carrying out over the past few weeks as well. He had studied Legilimency through books acquired in the magical market. Not only did he understand the theory — his mental capacity, inherited and enhanced throughout his previous life with his warg powers, gave him an absurd advantage.
He possessed a talent that few had in the magical world, but without a doubt a talent that would surpass even the greatest names in history in the arts of the mind, when it comes to a warg who could control thousands of animals easily.
He had already tested his abilities on animals, manipulating memories, erasing them and checking whether he could verify if they were still there, he could even force them to restore. And it worked.
Now, for the first time, he was doing it on a human.
Even though he was not a wizard, the officer had no mental resistance. Even so, it was a human mind — something complex.]But, for Severus, it was not an obstacle. He quickly began to find everything he wanted within that mind with ease.
He studied the young officer — about 26 years old, named Daniel Carter, newly started in the career a little over two years after passing the entrance exam. He had a firm posture, but still carried a certain insecurity typical of someone at the beginning of their career. He was dedicated, honest, and took his job seriously, perhaps even more than he should.
Married to Emily, a primary school teacher, and father of a three-year-old girl, Sophie, whom he loved deeply. They lived in a simple house in the suburbs of London, leading a peaceful life. In his thoughts, Severus realized how much he valued his family.
But that was not what Severus wanted.
He ignored those personal memories and began to search more deeply, seeking specific information. It did not take long for him to find what he wanted. Soon he was exploring everything about the station: the entire map of the place, police protocols, the arsenal with the weapons, confidential files of crimes under investigation, and some urgent cases.
He managed to find out how to reach the arsenal.
"Very well… I know I am committing a crime, but I need to strengthen myself. I need to understand these technological weapons…"
What they called pistols, shotguns, and common weaponry was only a fraction of what he intended to study. His true objective was much greater: to access military projects.
After reading about the weapons used in the First and Second Muggle Wars, in a history book, he became fascinated — aerial artillery, machine guns, war tanks…
And even the nuclear bomb dropped on Japan.
The magical world could remain closed within itself, ignoring the strength of the Muggles out of arrogance. But Severus saw things differently.
He was already beginning to understand that, on the day the Muggles decided to destroy the world, they would have the power to do so. And the magical world could only watch, unable to react.
Even if they hid… what could they do against nuclear radiation? Not even protective spells seemed like an absolute guarantee.
How could they compete with weapons capable of annihilating entire cities, in seconds? A single machine gun, under the right conditions, could massacre hundreds of unprepared wizards.
But the real problem was not the current weapons.
It was the technological advancement of the Muggles.
The difference between the First and the Second War was already enormous — more powerful weapons, more efficient, more destructive.
And what would come in 20… 30… 50 years?
Severus pushed those thoughts away.
He had already obtained what he wanted.
He left the man’s mind, undoing the effect on him. The officer began to move again, still dazed, not understanding what had happened.
Severus looked at the man’s pistol.
With a slight movement, he released the safety from the holster and pulled the weapon with telekinesis, making it float before him.
The officer, still on the ground, was breathing with difficulty, overtaken by fear. He had no idea that his mind had been violated, but he stared at the boy in the hoodie floating his weapon and studying it.
Severus completely ignored his condition.
He kept his wand lowered, observing the weapon with interest as it slowly rotated in the air in front of him.
"Interesting… A kind of refined metal… there are no blacksmiths capable of producing something like this in this world. Machines make these parts with a precision that, in Arctic, would be considered impossible. Even more so when they can produce this in mass."
Each piece was manufactured separately and then assembled perfectly.
Severus wanted to disassemble it, analyze it, study it. He wanted to understand the concept.
And, perhaps… replicate it, using transfiguration.
If he could reproduce Muggle weapons with magic, that could become extremely useful.
As soon as he finished, he looked at the man, who was beginning to move away. With a quick motion, he pulled him back again with telekinesis, returned the weapon to the holster, and entered his mind once more.
This time, he used a memory charm, working with ease to erase all memories of that encounter.
Then, the man was returned to his desk, shaking his head and looking around, dazed, as if he had just awakened — without realizing that he had been taken to the top of a building.
Severus, satisfied, simply disappeared.
He returned to the reserve. "Where were you?" Mianna asked, with some curiosity.
Severus only gave a slight smile.
"I went to check on some of my plantations. I’ll start removing them tomorrow," he lied calmly.
She looked at him with an expression that clearly indicated distrust, as if she knew he was hiding something. Even so, she said nothing more.
After that, he had breakfast with the rest of the group and spent the rest of the day working, taking care of the dragons and the newborn hatchlings.
He also tried, once again, to work on the storage rings. This time, he decided to use silver instead of iron, imagining that the previous material might be limiting his ability to create an internal space.
He had managed to improve the result, but it was still not complete.
It was only a matter of time.
As soon as night fell, he said goodbye and headed to the pub, where he once again met some people who, over time, had become certain acquaintances — perhaps even friends.
And it was curious to think about that.
In the Muggle world, he had created more connections than in his own town, in his previous life.
But that was not surprising, even people he could say he knew before did not treat him well. Like Lily’s own parents, there had always been a certain disdain — They had always seen him as something that was dragging their daughter down, they had always shown their dissatisfaction with their friendship before and wanted Lily to cut ties with the poor and gloomy boy.
They and Petunia… she was probably happy now.
"Well… that doesn’t matter anymore." He pushed that thought away and moved on with a slight smile, greeting everyone as he arrived.
He soon noticed the scowling look of his boss, Mr. Wick. Over the past week, things had not been good — and it was not because Severus had stopped working. The problem was something else.
It was Vanessa and the man was jealous.
From what it seemed, Vanessa, one of the waitresses — who was also Mr. Wick’s lover — had started to show interest in Severus. He rejected her approaches, of course, but that did not stop the boss from casting looks full of anger, as if he had done something wrong.
Severus did not want to get involved in that.
Since these were already his last days there, he did not care much about the man’s behavior, as long as he did not cross certain limits.
Even so, it was a strange situation. The woman had a boyfriend. The man had a wife. They were lovers. And, somehow, he was jealous because Vanessa decided to take an interest in a sixteen-year-old boy.
As if Severus had done something to provoke that. But that did not matter. He continued doing his work.
When he finished, he noticed that Mr. Wick wanted to talk to him, but he did not have time for that, he needed to get the weapons, and he could not tell his boss that he was about to rob a police station and could not listen to his complaints of jealousy because his lover suddenly wanted to sit on an underage boy.
He took advantage of a moment when no one was looking and apparated, going straight to the center of London.
From the top of the same building from the morning, he observed the station. Then, he began to conjure a spell and took a potion, disappearing and reappearing inside the place. He moved carefully so as not to alert the officers who were on duty during the night.
He moved silently through the corridors, passing beside them without being noticed, aided by an Invisibility Potion that he himself had created.
It did not exist — he had developed it on a whim two weeks ago while testing some expensive ingredients.
He continued advancing until he reached the place where the weapons were kept, protected by bars. With a silent spell, he opened the access and entered.
He found pistols, shotguns, revolvers, ammunition, and vests.
"It’s strange to see how men fight in this world… when I fought for two centuries using a sword..." he murmured, as he observed the place.
After so many years fighting with a sword in his hands, that seemed… different.
He began to pick up one weapon after another, separating at least two units of each model and storing everything in his bag. He also took vests, radios, and other equipment for study.
Finally, he took the manuals — instructions for use, disassembly, and maintenance. That would be essential to understand the functioning.
With everything done, he disappeared again and returned to the reserve.
He lay down on his bed, resting after a busy day. His eyes slowly closed, satisfied, while he kept a bag full of Muggle weapons.
The next morning, he read the newspapers, but there was nothing about the station he had robbed — only more news about the activities of the Death Eaters. He would have to check the Muggle newspapers later.
"Severus…” While he was eating and reading the newspaper, Alastair Crowe called him. “What do you think about all of this, about You-Know-Who?" he asked with a serious look at Severus, who raised an eyebrow.
"Are you going to start again with that Slytherin nonsense, you idiot?" Cedric asked beside him, elbowing Alastair. "I’m worried, alright? He’s from Slytherin… Are you going to say he’s following You-Know-Who too?" he mocked.
"Wait, I didn’t say that! I’m just a little worried… you didn’t have to talk like that. My younger brother said that most of them might be following the dark path!" Alastair replied, annoyed.
"Can you two stop it?" Mianna interrupted, clearly irritated. "It’s kind of ridiculous for you to say that after living with him for 5 weeks. Let me ask you something, Alastair: did he take part in any activities of those maniacs during the time he’s been here?"
Alastair shrank a little. "No…"
"Then tell me something else: does he look like a dark wizard? Just because he’s from Slytherin?" Mianna insisted.
"You’re right… sorry," Alastair finally murmured, embarrassed.
Severus, who was listening to the conversation, slightly raised an eyebrow. "Well… you’re not entirely wrong. Most of Slytherin is committed to this cause..." he said, pausing.
"But I…", Severus spoke, looking at the newspaper, "have no interest in that. You can see what Voldemort’s true objective is with all of this."
He did not even care about their shock as they stared at him after he used the name of the dark wizard so naturally. "That man only wants power. He doesn’t even truly care about his ideology, he just uses it to manipulate his followers and acquire resources with his promises."
It was not the first time he had dealt with men like that. Severus recognized this in Voldemort the moment he began to study about him. He realized that the former Severus had been mistaken.
"Someone who enslaves part of the population to achieve total power… in the end, will fail. Either way, he is just a fool who will leave his name marked in history, but will never have what he imagines." He spoke in a bored tone.
The gods would not send him to that world to deal with someone like that — someone so insignificant. That was nothing more than a delay in his path, an obstacle before moving forward.
'Well… I will still have to deal with this, but, for now, I will become as strong as possible while I am at Hogwarts. When the time comes, Voldemort will not be a problem. Perhaps I will deal with that psychopath even before expected. For now, I have another focus.' He debated in his mind.
Despite the stunned looks fixed on him after what they heard, they had breakfast and, when they were about to leave, Mianna received someone. It was none other than Scamander, accompanied by his wife.
"Severus, I didn’t tell you, but Mr. Scamander asked me to take you today. He wants to study some of the colonies in the region and asked me if I could release you. I did," Mianna said.
Soon after, another appearance occurred through the explosion of the fireplace using floo powder, and an elderly man, Scamander himself, emerged. Behind him, an elderly woman of the same age, along with a middle-aged man. Severus noticed the resemblance — probably their son — and there was also a fourth burst, and it seemed to be the granddaughter with a smile on her face.
He had already seen her at Hogwarts... She was a seventh-year Hufflepuff student...
"Wait! Is that Severus Snape?!" the girl exclaimed in shock upon seeing Severus.
"Behave yourself, Iris Scamander!" said the man who seemed to be her father.
"Okay, Dad!" she said immediately, but still looking at Severus with shocked eyes. She must have known who he was at Hogwarts to say his name out loud and be so surprised to see him so different.
Scamander himself waited for everything to become quiet before speaking to Severus. "Severus, I hope you don’t mind. My family would like to record the colonies you found. We would like you to come with us, if it’s not a problem..." he said, with a friendly smile.
Severus looked at Mianna, who shrugged. "You’re free. Besides, they’re already training that new boy I interviewed two days ago. Soon, he’ll take your place when you go to Hogwarts."
Severus nodded. After that, he followed Scamander and his family to the places, being introduced to everyone, while he displayed being quite friendly, with Iris staring at him the entire time as if he had grown a second head. In any case, he began helping Scamander study the magical creatures of the region, while also getting to know his family better.
