Sparkle bit her lip, her gaze fixed on that Doomsday Beast.
She was calculating rapidly in her mind—her elation points were just over three thousand; if she used the gacha, she might pull a bunch of useless junk, but if she used the barrage to fight directly…
She recalled the scene where the materialized barrage shattered the door in Herta’s room.
Those barrages were real, genuine power.
Although it pained her to burn them, in this situation, she had to burn them regardless of the pain.
“Family~”
Sparkle blinked at the invisible phone beside her, her voice sickeningly sweet, “Do you want to beat up that big guy yourselves?”
The barrage exploded instantly—
[Yes!!!!!]
[Let me at it!!!!!]
[Beat it up, beat it up, beat it up!]
[Charge, brothers!!]
Sparkle curled the corners of her lips, a flash of cunning light passing through her red eyes.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and began to communicate with the system panel using her mind—elation points burning, barrage materializing, target locked on the Doomsday Beast.
The next second, countless points of light surged out from behind her, rushing toward the center of the platform like a torrent!
Himeko, standing to the side, widened her eyes.
What’s going on?
She watched as those colorful specks of light whistled past her, and she could faintly see some strange symbols within them.
[Go to hell, big lug!!]
[Take my punch!!]
[How dare you bully March 7th!!]
[Taste my thirty-year collection of resentment!!]
[The barrage army sets out!!]
[Charge, charge, charge—!]
March 7th was startled by the specks of light and jumped back a step: “What is that, what is that?!”
Dan Heng frowned deeply, holding his spear horizontally in front of him, watching vigilantly as the specks of light streaked overhead.
Stelle gripped her baseball bat, looking blankly as the specks of light converged into a torrent and smashed fiercely toward the Doomsday Beast.
The Doomsday Beast obviously hadn’t reacted in time either.
The specks of light slammed into its body, exploding into brilliant flowers of light; every time one exploded, it triggered a violent energy fluctuation.
The Doomsday Beast let out a thunderous roar, its hideous wings flapping frantically, but the specks of light seemed endless, crashing into it one after another.
Sparkle hid behind a cargo container, staring at the elation points number—3500, 3000, 2500, 2000, 1500…
Her face was scrunched up in pain; her white hair draped against her cheeks, and her red eyes were filled with the words “I’m so heartbroken.”
But the effect was significant. New chapters come out on g.com first.
Under the dense bombardment of the barrage, the Doomsday Beast finally couldn’t hold on; its massive body swayed, then it plummeted from mid-air, crashing onto the platform with a “boom,” kicking up clouds of dust.
The platform was silent for a full three seconds.
March 7th had her mouth agape, unable to speak for a long time.
Dan Heng’s brows furrowed even tighter, his gaze resting on the dissipating specks of light, seemingly pondering something.
Stelle scratched her head, looking blank.
Himeko looked at the Doomsday Beast lying on the ground, then turned her head to look at the white-haired girl nearby who was clutching her chest with a pained expression.
The confusion in her amber eyes grew more intense.
This child…
what on earth is her background?
Those specks of light…
what exactly were they?
Sparkle hadn’t noticed Himeko’s gaze at all; she was staring at the number—[6]—her mouth twitching violently.
My heart hurts.
It really hurts.
If I had known, I would have just used the gacha; what if I had pulled something good?
But on second thought, what kind of junk were those two previous pulls?
This gacha pool is practically a scam!
As she was agonizing over it, March 7th over there had already let out a sigh of relief and patted her chest: “Whew—although I don’t know what happened, it’s resolved, that big guy was really tough…”
Before she could finish speaking.
The Doomsday Beast suddenly moved.
Its massive body sprang up from the ground, and its purple-red eyes reignited with a frenzied light.
It opened its mouth, and a purple-blue light wave condensed within; the energy of that light wave was stronger than any previous attack, strong enough to make one’s scalp tingle—it was its final struggle, its last strike before death!
The light wave headed straight for March 7th!
March 7th’s pupils constricted, and she froze in place; it was too late to dodge.
Stelle reacted the fastest; she pushed off with her legs, rushing over like an arrow released from a bow, blocking in front of March 7th.
Her hair flew in the wind, and her eyes burned with a resolute light.
She gripped the baseball bat with both hands, raised it high, and subconsciously shouted that phrase again—
“Rules are made to be broken!”
The bat swung out.
And then…
it got stuck again.
March 7th froze.
Dan Heng froze.
Himeko stopped in her tracks.
Sparkle also froze.
She looked down at her own hands—the hands that were steadily clamping onto Stelle’s baseball bat—then looked up at the grey-haired girl’s face inches away, and then turned her head to look at the purple-blue light wave about to smash over.
Only one thought crossed her mind: Absurd!!
This thief!!!
Why did you have to shout that line again!!!
But there was no time to think about that much.
The light wave had already smashed over.
Sparkle only felt an indescribable, massive force slam into her; she felt as if she had been struck by lightning, every cell in her body trembling frantically.
Her white hair stood on end, her twin tails exploding into two white dandelions.
Her red eyes were wide round, her mouth open wide enough to fit an egg, and she was shaking frantically in mid-air in a bizarre posture.
The energy was too strong, too violent; just the residual shockwave after blocking it once was enough to send her flying.
Sparkle traced a parabola in the air, then landed on the ground with a “splat,” rolled twice, and finally lay face-up, motionless.
Stelle stared blankly at the figure that had flown away, and then the beam of light struck her.
Strange light surged from her body, and she stood frozen in place, as if pinned by something—she was experiencing some kind of transcendent experience, locking eyes with a certain deity.
But Sparkle couldn’t be bothered to care anymore.
She only knew that her whole body was smoking now.
White smoke curled up from her body, her white hair curled from the electricity.
She lay on the cold floor of the platform, eyes wide, staring at the starry sky above, her mind a complete blank.
Fuli hopped out from some corner, scurried to her side in a few steps, squatted down, and looked down at her, still holding the half-eaten banana in its claws.
“Sparkle?” It called out softly.
Sparkle didn’t respond.
“Sparkle?” It called out again.
Sparkle blinked.
Her red eyes slowly turned, scanning the surrounding environment—this wasn’t the platform, it was a strange space.
All around was a vast universe; she couldn’t hear any sound, only she herself was lying here.
Maybe it’s not a big deal now… maybe it will be later.
“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
