Word passed from person to person, spreading through Boulder Town in less than fifteen minutes.
Some chose to notify their friends and family, while others rushed to secure prime spots in line.
March 7th, who was setting up the “equipment,” looked at the crowd gathered around with their varying expressions and felt an instinctive prickle of danger.
A few of those glances seemed distinctly hostile…
“What do you think you’re doing…?”
A sharp shout suddenly rang out from the side.
A group of thugs who had been planning to grab the supplies directly froze, their faces souring as they turned around.
A valiant young woman approached at the head of a squad—it was Wildfire, the local organization that maintained order in the Underworld and kept Boulder Town safe.
The person who had spoken was a Wildfire cadre and their chief fighter—Seele, a Pathstrider of the Hunt.
“Don’t block the clinic entrance…” Seele waved her hand, and the Wildfire members behind her dispersed into the crowd to maintain order, urging everyone to form an orderly line.
Seele herself walked toward the clinic…
“Nat, you alright?”
As she spoke, Seele glanced behind the square tables.
Inside the cloth sacks lay gleaming white rice, crisp green vegetables, fresh meat, and bright red apples.
*Gulp.* Seele reflexively swallowed hard, a sudden wave of longing and hunger washing over her.
“I’m fine.” Seeing Seele’s reaction, Natasha smiled and handed her an apple.
“Here, take one!”
Since the sacks could produce an unlimited supply, Su Yan hadn’t been stingy, donating five hundred pounds of each item to Natasha free of charge…
Whether running her clinic or the orphanage, Natasha operated strictly as a charity.
Providing her with supplies was Su Yan’s way of showing his approval for her good deeds.
“What’s this…?” Seeing an apple for the first time, Seele looked at it with wonder, catching a whiff of its sweet, pleasant aroma.
She was stunned that food could smell so naturally sweet, almost like sugar!
“It’s the fruit of a plant.
Go ahead, try it!”
Given Belobog’s current plight, fruit was extraordinarily rare.
It was a luxury even in the Overworld, let alone down in the Underworld…
At her words, Seele took a bite.
*Crunch!*
Nearly everyone around—whether waiting in line for supplies or Wildfire members keeping order—had never eaten fine food in their lives.
Seeing Dr.
Natasha hand Seele a piece of fruit, their eyes locked onto it, fascinated.
The crisp crunch made their hearts skip a beat as craving surged in their chests.
“It’s so sweet!” Seele chewed, sweet juice bursting in her mouth as she narrowed her eyes in sheer delight.
The onlookers gulped in unison…
They longed for a taste, but none had the courage to speak up!
As time passed, more and more people arrived in Boulder Town, gathering at the plaza beside the clinic.
The sparse crowd in the plaza quickly turned into a dense sea of people, and the line stretched out far beyond the plaza’s borders…
By the time Sampo, who had taken Dan Heng to find Oleg, returned to Boulder Town with his companions, the queue reached all the way to the town’s edge, winding through the streets and filling nearly every major thoroughfare.
Wildfire members patrolled along the line to maintain order, preventing cutting and fights from breaking out.
“What’s going on here?” Oleg scratched his head in complete bewilderment.
Even when he called town meetings for the miners to discuss mining operations, he had never seen a crowd half this size…
In fact…
Oleg swept his gaze across the queue and spotted some unexpected faces—scavengers from the Robot Settlement, homeless vagrants…
Mainly the vagrants…
Due to past conflicts, the vagrant population was unpopular in the Underworld.
They usually avoided Boulder Town and the Robot Settlement, hiding away in the mines or areas untouched by the Fragmentum.
Seeing so many vagrants inside the town today, getting along peacefully with the locals…
“Am I dreaming?”
Dan Heng and Sampo had a ready answer for Oleg’s confusion.
“I don’t think you’re dreaming, Oleg…”
Without even thinking, Sampo could guess that no one other than those Nameless could pull off such an absurd stunt.
Dan Heng thought the exact same thing.
“Let’s go, the answer lies right ahead…”
The group walked along the line, listening to the chatter of the crowd.
“Distributing free supplies?
Who?”
Oleg was puzzled for a second before the answer struck him.
He turned to look at the silent Dan Heng beside him.
Obviously, no one except visitors from beyond the sky could do this.
Not a single person in the Underworld had enough food to eat, let alone extra to give away.
Especially to give to *everyone*…
As for the Overworld…
The less said about them, the better!
With that thought, Oleg felt deep emotion.
These visitors from beyond the sky were so warm-hearted and generous, giving away free supplies!
And to total strangers they had just met!
Sampo was also quite surprised.
He knew the Nameless were good people, but he hadn’t expected them to be *this* generous…
What an unexpected approach…
Dan Heng was also a bit surprised.
He was curious where Su Yan got all these supplies.
He had left the Astral Express together with Su Yan and hadn’t seen him carrying anything.
And supplies didn’t just appear out of thin air…
Could it be…
“…A Curio?” Dan Heng muttered under his breath.
Having spent only a short time with Su Yan so far, he hadn’t formed fixed assumptions yet.
After pondering it seriously for a moment, he guessed it might be a Curio.
Sampo looked thoughtful.
As a seeker of fun with sharp senses, he overheard Dan Heng’s murmur.
Each harboring their own thoughts, the three walked toward Boulder Town’s only clinic—the distribution point for the supplies.
At the moment, distribution hadn’t officially begun yet.
Su Yan was explaining the registration requirements to the temporary record-keeping staff, as well as how non-free supplies could be obtained.
The people waiting in line listened intently.
When they learned they could exchange trash for food, they looked at him in disbelief, as if viewing a fool…
However, after listening to Su Yan’s explanation, their attitude shifted completely, turning to awe and curiosity about the world beyond the stars.
To turn even trash into treasures—technology from beyond the sky was truly amazing…
As the news spread, those who had worried that one free share wouldn’t be enough immediately put their minds at ease.
If there was one thing the Underworld had in abundance, it was useless junk.
“Dan Heng, I’m handing my job over to you~!” Seeing Dan Heng return, March 7th dumped her duties on him without a second thought.
Then, she dashed over toward Stelle.
Dan Heng looked down.
It was paperwork—registering people’s information to prevent the same person from claiming free supplies multiple times.
“You’re working with me.
Having a local around will make this much easier.”
Dan Heng gave Sampo no chance to refuse, nor did Sampo intend to.
His own plans were stalled for the moment anyway, so staying with the Nameless was fine.
Besides, Sampo cast his eyes toward the supplies…
He was extremely interested in those sacks full of supplies.
Did “Curio” refer to these sacks?
Or…
Those metal boxes?
And what exactly did they do?
