Inside St.
Freya Academy, after Yuna and Bronya finished their enrollment, they finally saw Kiana.
“Kiana!” Yuna threw herself into Kiana’s arms; after all, in this strange place, the sense of security brought by seeing the only familiar person was beyond words.
“Yuna, congratulations on your enrollment.
If all goes well, we’ll be classmates in the same class from now on.” Kiana patted Yuna’s head, then looked at Bronya: “You too, Bronya.
From now on, we are a Community of Fate.
As for Seele, I’ll go find her with you when the time comes.”
“Seele…” Bronya froze for a moment upon hearing the familiar name.
She didn’t understand; they were supposed to be enemies, so why was Kiana being so kind to her?
“Cocolia was the one in the wrong.
I wouldn’t go as far as to take my anger out on a young girl with a tragic past, and…” Kiana lowered her eyes and proposed a condition to Bronya: “The condition for helping you is to give the rest of your life to me.
I will bear the weight of your life.”
“You really are a weirdo…” Although Bronya grumbled, she still reached out and took Kiana’s hand.
That hand was very warm, just like Seele’s hand back at the orphanage.
“Well then, let’s end the small talk and catching up for now.
I have some business with my Aunt.” Kiana smiled gently.
As for Raiden Mei…
she had gone to handle her enrollment procedures.
After all, Raiden Mei had followed Kiana directly without any documentation, whereas Kiana’s records had been filled out with Siegfried’s help.
“So busy.” Bronya shook her head as she watched Kiana.
Despite being the Overseer of Schicksal, she didn’t know why Kiana still had to attend school.
In the Principal’s office at St.
Freya Academy, Theresa was reading a manga with great interest.
But when the door was suddenly pushed open, Theresa instinctively wanted to tear the manga in her hands down to the molecular level, only to suddenly freeze.
“Honestly, it’s just me, Aunt.
This manga was bought with Aunt’s precious pocket money.
If Aunt gets heartbroken from tearing it, I’ll be heartbroken too.” Flirtatious words came easily to Kiana, yet she seemed unaware of it.
“You finally decided to come back?” Looking at Kiana, Theresa felt that in less than a single day, Kiana had become stronger again.
Kiana’s growth rate was somewhat alarming to her.
“Mm, after all, there are people I care about here.” Kiana smiled softly.
Theresa teased her niece, asking if the people she cared about were the newly enrolled Yuna and Bronya, but to her surprise, Kiana shook her head.
“Yuna and Bronya are people I care about, but Aunt is too.” Kiana walked around the desk and squatted by Theresa’s chair, gently holding Theresa’s hand.
Her sincere voice made Theresa unable to stop herself from blushing: “After all, we are a Community of Fate promised for a lifetime.”
“A-A lifetime?!” Theresa felt her face heating up.
Seeing Kiana’s unknowingly flirtatious manner, Theresa’s resentment toward Siegfried grew even stronger.
What on earth had he been teaching Kiana?!
“Al-Alright!
Kiana, did you come to see Aunt because you’re finally ready to enroll?” Theresa hurried to change the subject in her embarrassment.
After all, Kiana was her niece, a sister recognized by Durandal, and a daughter recognized by Siegfried.
Basically, if Cecilia knew her best friend was falling for her daughter…
if Cecilia were to flip her coffin lid…
wait?
That might actually be a good thing?
While Theresa was lost in thought, Kiana explained her purpose: “I couldn’t find the gem of desire at Schicksal Headquarters, so I wanted to ask Aunt…”
The figure of the Herrscher of the Void appeared behind Kiana.
Two different voices asked in unison: “Where is the gem of desire now?”
“The gem of desire…” Theresa’s expression became somewhat complicated, filled with guilt and apology.
Seeing this expression, Kiana already had her answer.
“It’s in New Zealand, implanted into the legs of a senior named Wendy who graduated from St.
Freya Academy and was the most likely candidate to become an S-rank Valkyrie, leaving her unable to stand because of the experiment, right?” Kiana looked at Theresa’s pale face without any intent to blame, only gently stroking her cheek.
“There’s no need for self-reproach, Aunt.
I’ll handle it.” Kiana smiled and exchanged a glance with the cold-faced Herrscher of the Void beside her, her voice gentle: “After all, that power originally belonged to us.”
“Kiana…” Looking at Kiana’s gentle smile, Theresa felt that as an adult, she wasn’t living as well as her niece.
Ever since she recommended Wendy to try and master the power of the gem of desire, only to end up harming her student, Theresa had been living in self-denial.
Even though they spoke on the phone, she would always hang up quickly because she was afraid—afraid that Wendy would hate her.
But now, she suddenly wasn’t so afraid anymore, because her niece was here.
Her niece said she would solve the matter.
Yet, she was the adult, and she was letting a child like Kiana solve it.
She…
was too incompetent.
“Kiana, am I…
really incompetent?” Theresa looked into Kiana’s eyes, the emotions she had been suppressing for so long finally overflowing, her eyes turning red.
“I know I’m childish, I like reading manga, I’m unmotivated, and I even hurt that child Wendy…
I’m like a child who never grows up.
Kiana, am I really…
not suited to be the Principal?”
Kiana listened quietly to Theresa’s heartfelt confession.
She knew that Theresa had never actually wanted to be the Principal.
After all, the original Principal of this academy was supposed to be Cecilia.
She had only taken the position to fulfill her best friend’s final wish, forced into a role she never wanted.
“Aunt.” Kiana softly interrupted Theresa’s self-doubt.
She simply held Theresa gently and whispered into her ear: “You’ve really worked hard all these years.”
That warm embrace made Theresa unable to hold back her sobs.
She hugged Kiana’s waist tightly, her voice breaking: “Cecilia…
I miss you…”
“It’s okay, Theresa.
I’ll bring Wendy back.” Kiana knew that Theresa just missed Cecilia.
Combined with Kiana’s warm embrace, which was no different from Cecilia’s, she had simply mistaken her for a moment.
After all…
Theresa had never really been able to move on from the Second Eruption.
Even though her Remembrance had been altered by Otto, the pain of losing her best friend had kept her trapped in that snowfield.
It might not seem tempting right now but who knows what the future holds?
“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
