The moment the words left his lips, a flash of white light manifested in front of Lynn.

Tap, tap.

The crisp sound of leather shoes striking the ground echoed through the cavern.Full novel: Hunter x Hunter: Card Master, The World’s Strongest — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Capone Bege appeared, dressed in a classic mob-style tuxedo.

He sported an arrogant expression, a lit cigar dangling from his mouth.

“The Boss has given the order!

Grab your pieces and get out here to fight!”

A small door opened on his abdomen, and tiny figures armed with weapons leaped out, rapidly expanding to their normal size.

This was the power of the Castle-Castle Fruit!

Capone Bege could shrink people and objects to store them inside his body, essentially acting as a mobile fortress.

Generally speaking, card characters could not transfer items between worlds, but Capone’s cigar and clothes were part of his default summoning appearance.

If Lynn had summoned Chopper, the reindeer would have arrived alone, unable to bring along extra hands or firearms.

Bege’s ability, however, changed everything.

No matter where Lynn was, Bege could bring an entire army and a full arsenal to the field.

This ability alone held immense strategic value.

A flurry of hurried footsteps followed as approximately twenty mobsters in matching suits entered the fray.

Most were armed with machine guns, while some carried rocket launchers and flamethrowers.

During the month Lynn had been away, Capone had fully utilized his natural talents, rebuilding his familiar criminal empire.

Using the seed money Lynn had left him and his own superior strength, he had been ruthless and decisive.

He had targeted smaller gangs first—preying on other criminals was always the fastest route to growth.

By now, he had established a solid foundation.

The name of the Capone Family had begun to spread, owning multiple businesses and boasting several hundred men under their command.

The twenty men he brought now were the core elite, the most capable and loyal of the bunch.

In an instant, the once-empty ice cave was flooded with over twenty people.

Fully armed, they moved to the front, forming a protective vanguard with Lynn safely behind them.

While it was true that in a world of supernatural powers, quantity rarely beat quality—as true powerhouses could not be overwhelmed by mere numbers—at Lynn’s current stage, having subordinates was incredibly useful.

To the side, Eugene stared blankly, his jaw dropping as he watched the sudden appearance of this small army.

His throat tightened, and he found himself unable to speak.

Was he seeing things?

Was Franklin actually a space-type Nen user?

Or were these people Nen beasts he had manifested?

They certainly didn’t look like Nen beasts.

To be honest, Eugene thought both explanations were absurd, but he couldn’t think of a third possibility.

“I have to admit, Franklin, you are quite interesting,” Sluke grunted, staring at the newcomers.

Then, his tone shifted to one of mockery.

“You don’t actually think a few more people will help you win, do you?”

He could tell these were just ordinary humans.

What did it matter if they had weapons?

They couldn’t kill him; it was an exercise in futility.

“No, Sluke, you underestimate humanity,” Lynn said expressionlessly.

“Humans have far more tricks up their sleeves than you can imagine.”

This time, Capone and his men hadn’t just brought standard weaponry.

They were carrying specialized high-yield explosives.

While they were nowhere near the level of the “Poor Man’s Rose” from the original series, their power was still formidable.

However, Lynn didn’t plan on using them unless absolutely necessary; he didn’t want to risk collapsing the ice cave.

“Attack!” Capone Bege barked.

Almost simultaneously, the ice cave erupted with the deafening roar of gunfire.

Muzzle flashes lit up the dark cavern as a hail of bullets, trailing the scent of gunpowder, slammed into Sluke.

Faced with this level of assault, the creature didn’t even bother to dodge.

Vines were severed and pulverized, but they regenerated at a staggering speed.

It seemed ineffective.

However, this was expected.

While the front row laid down suppressing fire, the men in the back began lobbing items at Sluke, including oil drums and grenades.

Although Sluke didn’t know what these objects were, he instinctively retaliated, sending several vines whipping out at high speeds.

The vines targeted both the projectiles and the men.

In mid-air, the punctured oil drums sprayed vast quantities of gasoline, which were immediately ignited by the exploding grenades.

In the blink of an eye, the ice cave was transformed into a sea of fire, with raging flames encircling Sluke.

As for the vines flying toward the subordinates, they were either intercepted by Lynn’s ice walls or dealt with by Capone himself.

No casualties were sustained.

“This is…

fire?!” Sluke roared, his voice laced with extreme trepidation.

Fire was his only weakness.

If the flame was small, he could survive by preemptively severing his own vines.

But if his entire body caught fire, his regenerative abilities would fail completely.

He would be doomed.

Why?!

Why did Lynn suddenly manifest so many people?

And why did they have weapons specifically meant to counter him?

Sluke fell into a state of confusion.

Was this what Lynn meant by…

the tricks of humanity?

The scorching sea of flames swept through the cave.

The hard ice, mixed with frozen soil, began to melt slowly.

The air temperature surged, sending waves of heat billowing toward Sluke.

The fire stood between the two parties, though it was much closer to Sluke.

He hadn’t been burned yet, but it was only a matter of time.

Lynn’s men continued to throw more fuel, causing the fire to expand rapidly.

In his desperation, Sluke lunged at the group, attacking with everything he had like a drowning man clutching at a final straw.

But the fire had already taken hold.

Some vines were charred to ash before they could clear the flames, while others that managed to pass through were blocked, failing to land a meaningful blow.

Finally, under the barrage of multiple incendiary bombs, Sluke inevitably caught fire.

Excruciating pain surged through every part of his body.

He began frantically severing his own vines to prevent the fire from spreading further.

But with the surrounding fire still raging, this was merely treating the symptoms rather than the cause.

Soon, Lynn watched as Sluke howled and writhed in the man-height flames, his physical size shrinking at a visible rate.

He had been right!

Sluke’s weakness was indeed fire.

When burned, his regenerative powers were nullified.

Once that weakness was exploited, the monster was easy to handle.

After all, the only truly troublesome thing about Sluke was his god-tier healing factor.

The situation on the battlefield had been completely reversed.

On the brink of death, Sluke abandoned all thoughts of a counterattack.

Only one thought remained in his mind: flee and survive!

He planned to tank the fire and dash out through the cave entrance.

Based on the rate he was burning, he could hold on for another ten seconds—more than enough time to escape.

But Lynn wasn’t about to give him that chance.

When the weakened, flaming Sluke—now unable even to muster a vine attack—approached the exit, he found Capone Bege standing there like a guardian deity.

“Ugly monster.”

“Since you’re a plant, do us a favor and burn to death quietly!”

“In your next life, don’t offend people you can’t afford to provoke!”

With that, Capone Bege’s right hand turned dark, coated in dense Armament Haki.

He grabbed Sluke by the throat and slammed him violently back into the heart of the fire.

Boom!!

The flames surged upward.

A few moments later, Lynn noticed he had gained two new cards.

This signified that Sluke had been thoroughly defeated.

He had successfully resolved a “Calamity”!
