"Light God above, you truly are a lucky Little Fairy."
Sayah cupped her face in both hands and gazed enviously at the little fellow in the flower cradle. A faint golden glow shimmered across his forehead—the Elven King’s blessing.
Every ten years, a group of adorable Little Fairies was born in the Faerie Forest.
They were nature’s favored children, nurtured within flower buds as they absorbed the essence of heaven and earth and gathered their souls. When the buds blossomed, the Little Fairies finished developing and gradually awakened.
Like Elves, Fairies were children of the Light God. There were no barriers between the two peoples; they were close to one another and always helped each other.
Sayah had welcomed three groups of Fairy cubs in the Fairy Nursery, yet she had never seen a cub lucky enough to receive the Elven King’s blessing.
Today was the day the Little Fairies were born, and the Elven King had happened to come inspect the Faerie Forest, joining her in welcoming these new lives.
The final Fairy cub to awaken looked a little slow and foolish, yet his luck was unbelievable.
After receiving the Elven King’s blessing, he would not only possess a unique name, but would also receive the Elven King’s protection.
"Sperien."
The golden-haired Elven King tapped the air lightly with one fingertip. Starlight flickered and gathered into a tiny flower crown, which appeared among the Little Fairy’s hair.
Noticing the flower crown that had suddenly appeared on his head, the Little Fairy reached up with his plump little hands and touched it in confusion.
"Sperien! Oh, what a wonderful name!" Sayah exclaimed.
Once the Elven King had finished, he gave Sayah a few instructions and left the Fairy Nursery.
Sayah bowed gracefully and respectfully saw him off. Only after his figure had disappeared did she clap her hands and call to the Fairy cubs hiding among the flowers.
"Little darlings, come out! It’s time to eat!"
At her clear call, infused with magic, tiny creatures glowing with pale green light emerged from every corner of the Fairy Nursery.
They were only the size of a thumb. Their smooth little bodies were completely naked, and each had a pair of delicate wings growing from their back. As the wings fluttered, they scattered specks of starlight.
The Fairy Nursery was an enormous garden filled with all kinds of rare and wondrous plants, many of which had long vanished from the Human World. It was warm as spring throughout the year, with countless flowers blooming at once. Sunlight slanted through the transparent skylight like golden harp strings, while a fresh, sweet floral fragrance drifted through the air.
A neat row of little silver bowls stood on a long vine table. Holding an elegantly shaped long-spouted pitcher, the red-haired Elf carefully poured nectar into each bowl.
A single drop filled an entire bowl. The golden liquid released a rich, sweet fragrance that immediately attracted the newly born Little Fairies.
After exploring the Fairy Nursery, the cubs’ stomachs had long since begun growling. The moment they smelled the sweet nectar, they rushed toward the vine table all at once.
"Oh, don’t hurry. There’s enough for every cub," Sayah cried softly, quickly separating two cubs who were fighting over the same silver bowl.
Held by their wings, the cubs obediently stopped moving and blinked their innocent, watery eyes.
Sayah handled them gently, setting each one in front of a separate silver bowl. The little fellows twitched their noses, lowered their heads, and began drinking.
The Fairy cubs drank with great enjoyment, and Sayah’s heart nearly melted at the sight.
"Hm? Why is there an extra bowl?"
The little silver bowl on the far °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° left remained untouched, the nectar inside exactly as it had been. Sayah counted the cubs and discovered that one was missing.
At that moment, Shu Li was lying against the edge of the flower cradle, staring longingly at the distant vine table.
After the golden-haired Elf touched his forehead, something had appeared in his mind. It seemed to be a string of strangely shaped symbols. Before he could figure out what they meant, the golden-haired Elf spoke several sentences in his heavenly voice, then turned and left.
Reluctance welled up in Shu Li’s heart. He instinctively leaned over the edge of the flower cradle and watched the Elf disappear into the distance.
Immediately afterward, he heard the red-haired Elf call out, and countless tiny winged people flew from among the flowers.
They were all completely naked, with hair in every imaginable color and a pair of wings growing from their backs. Their wings came in all shapes—some resembled butterflies, some dragonflies, some cicada wings, and others fine gauze. Each even came with its own sparkling special effects, making them extraordinarily beautiful.
Yet no matter how beautiful they were, none of them wore clothes.
Shu Li touched his own bare chest, then decisively draped the petal blanket over his shoulders and wrapped it around his body.
As an adult who had just turned eighteen, he possessed a powerful sense of shame. Even in a dream, and even after shrinking to this size, he absolutely refused to run around naked.
He could not understand what the red-haired Elf was saying, but judging from the cubs’ eager expressions, he could more or less guess that it was mealtime.
The sweet fragrance entered his nose, making his stomach growl loudly.
Shu Li swallowed and stared greedily at the vine table, hesitating over whether he should fly over.
Right. Fly!
Shu Li removed the petal from his shoulders and reached behind himself. His hand touched something soft.
So itchy!
He immediately pulled his hand away.
He actually had a pair of wings too.
How amazing!
Shu Li’s playful curiosity surged. He wrapped the petal around his waist, then tried to control the wings on his back and pull them forward. Four translucent gauzy wings came into view. Their surface seemed to be covered in a protective film that shimmered with faint golden light.
What an interesting dream.
He wondered how much of it he would remember after waking up.
Shu Li gently stroked one wing with his fingertips. A tingling sensation instantly traveled into his mind.
The five senses in this dream felt so real that he began to suspect he had transmigrated into another world.
After discovering that one Fairy cub was missing, Sayah searched around and quickly spotted the Little Fairy blessed by the king. He was sitting in his flower cradle, playing with his own wings.
She pressed a hand to her forehead and leaned closer.
"Sperien, aren’t you hungry?"
The Fairy cub reacted a moment too late. He raised his head and stared blankly at her, his green eyes filled with confusion.
Sayah sighed, reached out, and lifted the little fellow into her palms. She carried him to the vine table and set him down in front of the little silver bowl.
"This nectar was freshly gathered this morning. It’s delicious."
Suddenly finding himself in a different place, Shu Li was momentarily bewildered. He clutched the petal tightly with both hands, determined not to expose himself.
When the rich, sweet fragrance reached him, he swallowed and lowered his head to look at the golden liquid inside the little silver bowl.
It looked pretty good.
Shu Li reached for the bowl, but the petal wrapped around his waist immediately began slipping down. He hurriedly grabbed it and pulled it back up.
That was close. He had almost flashed his bare bottom!
Sayah had been paying close attention to the cub the Elven King had named Sperien. When she saw the petal wrapped around his waist, she blinked in confusion.
Hm. Could a newborn cub feel embarrassed too? The way he wanted to drink the nectar but was troubled by the risk of exposing himself was unbearably adorable.
Sayah coaxed him gently.
"Fill your stomach first. Aisha will bring clothes for all of you soon."
Aisha was an adult Fairy responsible for caring for the cubs’ daily needs.
Naturally, Shu Li could not understand her. He raised his little head and asked politely, "Hello, may I have a spoon?"
With a spoon, he could hold the petal in one hand and use the other to drink the nectar.
To Sayah’s ears, his perfectly pronounced Chinese sounded like the chirping of a tiny insect.
She smiled and could not resist tapping the little fellow’s head with her fingertip.
"Be good. Don’t be picky."
Shu Li persisted. "A spoon. Do you have a spoon?"
He freed one hand and made a gesture.
Sayah shook her head with a sigh.
"Little Sperien, if you don’t drink your nectar soon, another cub might take it."
"I just want a spoon!" Shu Li frowned in distress.
The two spoke completely past each other. Neither could persuade the other, so they could only stare at one another.
A red-haired Fairy cub finished the nectar in his own silver bowl and rubbed his little belly, still unsatisfied. He looked around in every direction, searching for more. When he noticed another nearby bowl filled to the brim with nectar, his wings fluttered and he shot toward it excitedly, burying his head in the bowl and drinking furiously.
Shu Li stared blankly as the red-haired Fairy cub stole his nectar right before his eyes.
As the most pampered youngest son of the Shu family, he had always received whatever he wanted. No one had ever dared to steal from him.
Now, in his own dream, someone had snatched his food right in front of him.
He was utterly stunned.
The red-haired cub gulped down the nectar, then gave a satisfied burp and raised his head to grin at Shu Li.
That was blatant provocation!
Shu Li shook with outrage.
His body had grown smaller, and apparently his tear glands had become more active too. A tremendous sense of grievance surged through him. His emotions suddenly slipped out of control, and he burst into tears with a loud wail. Tears spilled from his eyes like beads and rolled down his cheeks.
Sayah froze, momentarily at a loss.
"Oh! Oh, Little Sperien, don’t cry... There’s plenty more nectar!"
Shu Li could not understand her. He continued sobbing at the top of his lungs until he could barely breathe.
Meanwhile, he kept scolding himself internally.
He was a high school student. How could he cry his eyes out just because someone stole his food?
Aaaah—how humiliating!
Thank goodness this was a dream and not reality. Otherwise, if his family ever found out, they would laugh at him for ages.
The red-haired Fairy cub was frightened by Shu Li’s powerful wailing. His pointed ears drooped, his mouth opened, and he began crying loudly as well.
Through tear-blurred eyes, Shu Li felt speechless.
He had barely started crying, yet the thief was already wailing even louder than he was.
But it grew worse.
Crying was contagious. The other Fairy cubs reacted one after another and began bawling too.
Sayah’s head spun. She hurried around, comforting one cub and then another, but it had little effect.
Just as she was becoming completely overwhelmed, a gentle voice sounded.
"Oh, Light God above, what happened? Why are all the cubs crying?"
Sayah looked toward the palm-sized, silver-haired Fairy hovering in the air. It was as though she had seen her savior, and her eyes immediately lit up.
"Dear Aisha, you came at exactly the right time! Please help me!"
Sayah was the Elf responsible for gestation. She was skilled only at singing and reciting poetry to the cubs inside the flower buds and nourishing them with magical elements. Once the Little Fairies awakened, Aisha and the other adult Fairies took responsibility for teaching them.
Aisha truly lived up to her role as a Fairy godmother. Unhurriedly, she flew down to the vine table and opened the case in her hands.
One by one, garments woven from natural silk flew neatly from the case and floated before each Fairy cub.
The Fairy cubs’ attention was captured by the beautiful little clothes, and they gradually forgot to cry.
The moment Shu Li saw the garment floating before him, his tears stopped abruptly.
Wow!
Clothes!
He finally would not have to run around naked!
No longer caring about exposing his bottom, Shu Li quickly released the petal and grabbed the garment. The fabric was delicate and smooth, as light as gauze and extremely pleasant to the touch.
As expected of his dream. It was full of detail.
Shu Li turned the garment over several times, trying to figure out how to put it on. To his surprise, it seemed to be enchanted. It slipped from his hands and automatically wrapped itself around his body.
The designer had thoughtfully accounted for the wings on a Little Fairy’s back. Several straps moved flexibly around the roots of his wings and tied themselves into a beautiful bow.
Shu Li curiously touched his new clothes.
It was a pleated robe resembling an ancient Greek tunic, secured at the waist with a belt woven from golden thread. Slits opened along both thighs, while the hem fell naturally to his calves.
It was light, flowing, fitted, and smooth as water. It felt incredibly comfortable.
Its only flaw was that it came without underwear.
If he moved his legs too widely, he still risked exposing his bottom.
Still, compared with being completely naked, having something that covered both his front and back was far better.
Shu Li tried his best to ignore that small imperfection.
Once he woke from the dream, none of it would matter anyway.
Now that he had clothes, the next priority was filling his stomach. He picked up the empty little silver bowl and raised his head to ask Sayah for food.
"Miss, where’s my nectar?"
Seeing that the cubs were all absorbed in the joy of receiving clothes, Sayah secretly wiped away a cold sweat. When she heard the familiar chirping, she looked down and saw the Little Fairy blessed by the king.
Crystal tears still clung to the corners of his eyes. He held the empty silver bowl in both hands and gazed pitifully up at her.
Give it to him!
Give him everything!
Sayah screamed internally at how adorable he was. She picked up the pitcher and poured a drop of nectar into his bowl.
Shu Li smiled happily at the red-haired Elf, then began drinking with refined little sips.
Mm. It was so sweet, fragrant, and silky.
No wonder the red-haired Fairy cub had not been satisfied with one bowl and had stolen his.
After drinking it all in one go, Shu Li gave a small burp and savored the lingering taste.
