With a gorgeous view all around, the sweet scent of spring flowers drifting through the air, paired with two beauties seated on either side of him.
What man wouldn’t want to be fed by two gorgeous girls with big…
assets?
Pretty much every man alive would want that.
Some men might even argue that’s the whole reason they get up in the morning.
If a man got fed by two beautiful girls, sure, that sounds like nothing but pure luck.
But if that same man got fed so much he could barely speak with his mouth stuffed full, wouldn’t it be pretty reasonable for him to want it to stop?
Maybe because talking got hard, maybe because his jaw ached from all the chewing, or maybe because he could barely breathe straight anymore.
If the two girls heard that the man wanted to stop, they’d probably feel a little hurt.
Or, in the version every man secretly hopes for, they’d turn shy and bashful instead.
And after that, they’d probably go right back to feeding him, just a little slower this time.
Then, like nothing ever happened, they’d laugh it off and settle back into the mood.
And as it happens, one of our friends here, Elias Veyron, was going through exactly that kind of situation.
Hold on, son!
If you’re actually feeling jealous right now, maybe take a second and think about whether this is really something worth envying.
Because unlike the version above, when Elias tried to turn down another bite since his jaw was already killing him, the two girls feeding him, Evelyn and Elysia, really did feel hurt that he’d said no.
But they didn’t turn shy.
They didn’t stop to reflect on anything either.
Instead, they drew their swords on him, just because he didn’t want another bite.
So?
Still feeling jealous?
“Lady Evelyn, that’s not what I meant. I’m just saying I can eat by myself.”
“Is that so?”
“Are you serious? You don’t want us feeding you? Do we look disgusting to you? Do we make you uncomfortable? Ah, I see. Sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
Elysia kept rambling on and on, sword and glare still locked on Elias the whole time.
“We just wanted to help you relax a little, since you always look so tense around us. Do you hate us?”
“Or were you close with some other woman before you came here, huh?”
“Is that true?”
‘Hiiekk!!!
Mira, save your brother!
I want to go home!’
Evelyn was still watching him with that hurt look, and Elysia hadn’t lowered her sword an inch.
Seeing the state of things, cold sweat began trickling down Elias’s temple.
“Of course not, that’s not what I meant at all. I really do appreciate you both feeding me. And I’m not close with any other woman besides my own little sister. Besides, I’ve lived in the village my whole life. How would I even have met another woman?”
‘Then again, why are they even asking about some woman I’m close with?
I did say I’m not close with anyone besides Mira, and she’s my little sister.
But what if I told them I’m also pretty close with Auntie Potato…?’
He forced a smile, raising both hands slightly to show he had zero intention of disappointing either of them.
“So, could you two put your swords away? I don’t think it’s a good idea to be carrying weapons around in a place like this.”
Evelyn and Elysia stayed quiet for a few seconds.
Their stares made Elias even more uneasy, to the point he started second-guessing what he’d just said.
‘Maybe I should’ve just gone along with it earlier.’
All Elias could do was let out a long sigh, eyes fixed on the two blades still pointed at him.
“If you two really want to feed me, I don’t mind.”
The moment he said that, Evelyn and Elysia’s expressions slowly eased back to normal.
Evelyn lowered her sword with a small smile, and Elysia did the same before sitting back down in her seat.
Watching the shift happen, all Elias could do was stay quiet.
‘…That was fast.’
He sat back down between the two of them and picked up his teacup, letting out a breath of relief.
At least for now, he didn’t have to worry about a sword pointed at him again, even though this already made three times today.
He genuinely couldn’t wrap his head around it.
Why did they suddenly get mad and want to cut him down just because he turned down another bite?
Honestly, this wasn’t lining up with what he remembered at all.
The twin Villainesses he remembered were supposed to be unpredictable, cunning, cruel, and cold toward everyone.
He never would’ve guessed their personalities would turn out like this.
Was it because this was still before the new Patch kicked in?
After all, the new Story Patch only started once they reached the Academy.
So if Elias was running into things that felt off before that point, it made sense, since he had no clue what happened in the before-story.
But that same gap in knowledge could easily land him in trouble down the line.
There was a real chance he might end up triggering the very Villainess plot that turned them into Villainesses in the first place.
‘Wait!
Are they seriously not Villainesses yet?
The Villainess plot…
Damn it.
Why didn’t I think of that sooner!’
Realizing that Evelyn and Elysia might not have transformed into Villainesses yet, Elias didn’t know whether to feel relieved or worried.
He could breathe a little easier knowing their personalities hadn’t changed the way they had in the game.
The odds of his head ending up on a chopping block just dropped a little.
But what worried him now was this: what exactly turns Evelyn and Elysia into Villainesses?
‘Past trauma?
Betrayal?
Loss?
Environment?
I have no idea.
If I knew, why would I even be asking myself this?’
Still, jumping to conclusions without any real basis could be dangerous.
Elias wasn’t about to settle on any answer before he actually confirmed something for himself.
Because of that, his role as Caretaker mattered even more now, keeping a close eye on both of them at all times.
Still, he had to be careful with how he acted around them.
Thinking back on everything so far, Evelyn had always been the “normal” one compared to Elysia, who seemed to have a hobby of pointing her sword at Elias.
But just now, she’d turned out to be the scarier one of the two, drawing her blade on him without a second thought.
‘I need to look into this too!
Just because I didn’t want to be fed, they turned into that.
Is this some new trend among girls, getting hurt or shy like that?
I don’t even have any experience with girls to begin with.’
Noticing Elias’s furrowed brow and the sweat starting to bead on his face, Evelyn reached out with her slender hand toward his cheek, worry written across her face.
“Elias… What’s wrong? Did we scare you? Did we hurt you?”
Elias flinched slightly at the feel of Evelyn’s hand on his cheek.
That alone caught him off guard, but what really threw him was her temperature.
‘She’s freezing.
Why’d she just touch my face out of nowhere?’
“It’s nothing, Lady. I was just thinking about my little sister back in the village.”
The moment Elias mentioned his sister, Evelyn and Elysia exchanged a quick glance, as if something about it had piqued their interest.
“I’m curious what your sister’s like. What’s her name?” Evelyn propped her face up with one hand, eyes fixed on Elias.
“Is she pretty? Is she cute? Is she younger than me?” Elysia fired off the questions rapid-fire, eyes practically sparkling, clearly dying of curiosity about Elias’s little sister.
Elias leaned back a little in his seat, taken aback by just how fired up Elysia had gotten.
For a second, Valeria’s face flashed through his mind.
‘No DNA test needed.’
“Well, I guess…”
Before Elias could even start telling them about his sister, a maid suddenly appeared, carrying two still-sealed letters on a tray.
Since Elias was already standing, he took it upon himself to hand the letters over to Evelyn and Elysia.
“Open it for me.”
Elias broke the wax seal, stamped with a white deer, a small crown-shaped set of antlers on its head, standing before a golden sun.
“Read it out loud too, while you’re at it.”
Elias pulled the paper out, unfolded it, and started reading, even though reading his employer’s mail was clearly nowhere near polite.
Still, it was an order, so he didn’t have much choice but to go through with it.
“To Lady Evelyn, May this letter find you and your family in good health. It has been quite some time since the Aurelle family last had the chance to spend time and converse with the Nocturne family. While the demands of noble life often make such meetings difficult to arrange, we continue to hope the bond between our two families remains strong. With the arrival of spring, we also have some news we’d like to share with you—”
“Oh my god, are they trying to turn someone into a bookworm or something? Just get to the point.” Elysia said, popping a sweet into her mouth.
“It says here, Marquis Aurelle is inviting you both to attend his eldest daughter’s coming-of-age ball, Lady Seraphina Aurelle. The event’s set for the 18th of Springveil.”
“Ahh~ I see…”
“So, Big Sis? Are we going?”
“Oh, come on. Of course we’re going. If we don’t show up, won’t they just assume the Nocturne family thinks too highly of itself? Well, besides, there’s bound to be something interesting waiting for us there.”
Elysia’s brow furrowed slightly at Evelyn’s last comment before she finally nodded.
“True enough. Just remembered.”
Evelyn stood up from her seat and walked over to Elias, hands clasped behind her back.
“Since it’s only three days away. Let’s go find something to wear.”
“…I’m honestly not really into it. But I’ll tag along this time.”
Noticing her sister’s indifferent reaction to the idea of picking out clothes, Evelyn stepped closer and leaned in to whisper:
“We’ll be picking out something for him too. Don’t you want to see him try on a bunch of different outfits—”
“Let’s get going.”
Elias practically swore he saw flames erupting off Elysia as she stormed past him, and all he could do was smile weakly.
He glanced over at Evelyn beside him, who was also quietly giggling to herself.
“Um… what exactly did you say to her?”
Evelyn turned to face Elias, leaned in slightly with one hand behind her back, the other raised to her lips, index finger extended as she smiled.
“Se-cret~”
With that, she walked off to catch up with Elysia, leaving Elias standing there scratching the back of his head.
‘Are they planning to buy snacks while they’re out shopping for clothes or something?’
