Arjun Mehra had always considered Bruno to be a peaceful creature.

Emotionally dependent on bamboo.

But peaceful.

This belief had remained unchallenged for almost two years.

Until now.

The entire abandoned hospital shook.

Not from the seals beneath them.

Not from the ancient entities awakening underground.

From above.

A deafening roar echoed through the structure.

Except it wasn’t a roar.

It was a panda.

A very angry panda.

Chunks of concrete rained from the ceiling.

The emergency lights flickered violently.

Varkhaz’s face turned pale.

Actually pale.

A demon general capable of destroying mountains looked genuinely terrified.

Arjun did not appreciate what that implied.

The system continued flashing blood-red warnings.

☠️ EMERGENCY ALERT ☠️

Heavenly Bear Emperor’s Emotional State:

ENRAGED

Estimated Combat Output:

UNCALCULABLE

Probability of Regional Destruction:

78.4%

“What?!” Arjun shouted.

The Heavenly Bear Emperor appears to believe the Host has been abducted.

“…By who?”

Everyone.

That was not an answer.

Another impact struck the hospital.

BOOM.

The floor cracked.

A section of the wall collapsed.

Moonlight poured through the dust.

And through the opening, Arjun saw Bruno.

The panda stood atop the hospital roof.

Or rather, where the roof had once been.

The animal itself looked normal.

Mostly.

He still had his black-and-white fur.

He still had his round face.

He still looked like a creature designed by nature to maximize cuteness.

The problem was the giant golden aura surrounding him.

And the fact that the clouds above the zoo were rotating.

Bruno stared down at the hospital.

His eyes glowed.

“Food Guy!”

Arjun froze.

Not because Bruno had spoken.

He was already used to animals speaking.

No.

He froze because Bruno had never called him Food Guy before.

He had always called him—

The panda’s voice boomed across the night sky.

“KEEPER!”

The world stopped.

The system stopped.

Even Varkhaz stopped breathing.

Bruno roared.

The sound shattered every remaining window in the building.

“WHO TOOK MY KEEPER?”

The system exploded.

🚨 TITLE RECOGNITION DETECTED 🚨

The Heavenly Bear Emperor has acknowledged the Host’s authority.

Relationship Status:

Absolute Loyalty

The Bear Emperor is emotionally unstable.

“Emotionally unstable?”

Correct.

“He’s a panda!”

He is also a Bear Emperor.

Arjun hated this system.

Outside, Bruno took a step forward.

The hospital groaned.

The ground split open.

Trees throughout the zoo bent under the pressure.

Varkhaz immediately dropped to one knee.

“The Heavenly Bear Emperor has arrived.”

Arjun looked at him.

“That’s what scares you?”

The demon slowly turned.

“My lord.”

“Yes?”

“The Heavenly Bear Emperor fought in the Final War.”

Silence.

“What?”

“He destroyed three celestial armies.”

Arjun blinked.

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

Varkhaz lowered his head.

“The Bear Emperor was one of your greatest generals.”

Arjun stared.

Then he laughed.

Because obviously.

Of course the panda was one of his generals.

Why wouldn’t the panda be one of his generals?

Aisha suddenly grabbed his arm.

“Arjun.”

He turned.

She looked pale.

Very pale.

“Tell me I’m hallucinating.”

He considered it.

Then he looked outside.

Bruno was currently roaring at the moon.

The moon appeared intimidated.

“I wish I could.”

A new voice echoed from outside.

“Keeper!”

Bruno’s enormous head appeared through the collapsed wall.

The panda blinked.

Then he blinked again.

His golden eyes landed on Varkhaz.

The temperature dropped.

Varkhaz stopped existing.

Not literally.

But spiritually.

Mentally.

Emotionally.

The demon general looked as though he had just remembered every mistake he had ever made.

Bruno tilted his head.

“Prison Guy.”

Varkhaz bowed so quickly that his forehead cracked the floor.

“Your Majesty!”

Bruno snorted.

“You escaped.”

“I was released!”

Bruno looked at Arjun.

“He bothered Keeper?”

Varkhaz began sweating.

Actual sweat.

On a demon.

“No!”

Bruno looked at Aisha.

The panda froze.

For the first time since arriving, all emotion disappeared from his face.

The golden aura surrounding him vanished.

The clouds above the zoo stopped moving.

Very slowly, Bruno sat down.

Then, to Arjun’s absolute horror, the panda lowered his head.

“Queen.”

Silence.

Pure silence.

Aisha blinked.

“…Excuse me?”

Bruno looked up.

His expression was no longer angry.

It was sad.

Profoundly sad.

“You forgot.”

The words were quiet.

Simple.

And somehow more terrifying than anything else that had happened tonight.

Aisha stepped backward.

“I don’t know you.”

Bruno lowered his gaze.

“I know.”

The panda’s voice became softer.

“I waited.”

Arjun had no idea why, but his chest suddenly hurt.

Not physically.

Something else.

Something old.

The system activated.

Not with alarms.

Not with warnings.

With grief.

Images flashed through Arjun’s mind.

A mountain.

A sunset.

A giant panda sitting beside a woman with nine tails.

The woman laughed.

The panda offered her bamboo.

A man stood beside them.

Watching.

Smiling.

The vision vanished.

Arjun staggered.

Again.

Aisha caught him.

Again.

“What happened?” she whispered.

“I…”

He looked at Bruno.

The panda was still sitting there.

Waiting.

As if he had been waiting for a very long time.

The system displayed another message.

⚠️ MEMORY SYNCHRONIZATION UPDATED ⚠️

Host Recovery Progress:

Fox Queen Recovery Progress:

Outside, a distant roar echoed beneath the earth.

Then another.

And another.

The seals were still breaking.

The world was still changing.

But for the first time since receiving the system, Arjun realized something far more terrifying.

The system wasn’t confusing ordinary animals for ancient monsters.

It was recognizing them.

And somehow…

They were recognizing him back.
