I. Mana Core Tier System
A person’s Mana Core determines the raw density and control of mana within their body, independent of what color Awakening they receive. Cores are refined over years of training, though some individuals are pushed through artificial or divine means.
Tier 1 Normal Core
Tier 2 Vein Core
Tier 3 Spark Core
Tier 4 Grand Core
Tier 5 Arch Core
Tier 6 Endest Core
Tier 7 Golden Core
Rare. Marks someone capable of leading a faction outright.
Tier 8 Astral Core
The highest tier achievable through mortal effort alone, without divine or forbidden intervention.
Tier 9 Supreme Core
Tier 9 Supreme Core Transcends mortal limits. Known bearers regenerate youth and vitality far beyond natural means. (Kai, Silver Needle’s leader, holds a ninth-tier Supreme Core.) As far as anyone can confirm, this is currently the highest tier actually known to exist no living bearer of a Core above it has ever been verified.

II. Awakening Color Tier System
An Awakening is granted once, and only once, through the Obelisk. The color reveals which tier of blessing a person’s soul carries — and, crucially, it also determines the tier of Grimoire they are permitted to wield.
Tier S Purple
The mark of true Supremacy. Vanishingly rare.
Tier S White
Thought to be reserved almost exclusively for women. Lucian’s Awakening as a man shattered that assumption entirely.
Tier A Red
A rare Awakening that immediately marks someone as future nobility or command material.
Tier B Blue
Solid and well-regarded. Enough to guarantee a place among an Order’s core knights or officers.
Tier C Yellow
A respectable middle tier good enough to build a career on, but rarely enough to lead.
Tier D Green
Common among rank-and-file soldiers and low-tier knights.
Tier E Orange
Below average, but still functional. Most who read this tier end up in support roles rather than front-line combat.
Tier F Silver
Faint and easily overlooked. Rarely given any real opportunity within an Order or House.
Tier G Brown
The weakest recognized tier. (Boien’s original result — a humiliation he never forgot.)
Tier H Gray
The last tier still recognized as a true Awakening. But unfortunately there is no H level grimoire
Tier Cursed / Unranked Black
Not a true combat tier at all, but a social brand. Anyone reading black is assumed demon-blooded, regardless of the truth behind it.
III. Grimoires and the Awakening-Tier Correlation
A Grimoire is not simply a book of spells it is a vessel that channels and shapes raw mana into usable power. Every Grimoire carries a fixed tier, matching one of the Awakening ranks above (S through G), and a person may only wield a Grimoire whose tier is equal to or lower than their own Awakening tier.
In other words:
A Brown Tier G Awakener can only bond with Tier G Grimoires the weakest Grimoires class available.
A Red Tier A Awakener, like Alicia, can use anything from Tier A down through G, giving them access to a far broader arsenal of techniques and combat styles.
An S-Tier Awakener (White or Purple) theoretically has access to every known Grimoire tier in existence, from the most primitive to the most legendary.
