As soon as the Pokémon egg was placed in the hatching chamber, the equipment immediately performed a basic diagnostic check.
The results showed that everything was normal.
Only then did Jiang Ming finally begin to relax, if only a little.
Although the System provided certain guarantees, he was still worried about whether Sunkern would be able to adapt to this new world.
In the end, unable to put his concerns aside, Jiang Ming laid out a makeshift bed right beside the hatching chamber and decided to sleep there.
Dratini naturally stayed with him.
Unlike the cultivation area, where there was a certain risk of contamination, the hatching room was kept clean.
Otherwise, Jiang Ming would never have allowed Dratini to remain there for so long.
Since the egg hadn’t been produced naturally, the Pokémon egg created in the laboratory began showing signs of activity after only about [missing time period] in the hatching chamber.
Sunkern was about to hatch!
Unlike ordinary living creatures, Pokémon eggs began to glow intermittently when hatching.
As the light gradually grew brighter, the eggshell suddenly shattered into countless points of starlight and vanished into the air.
A tiny Sunkern had finally been born!
“Sunkeee!” Sunkern cried energetically, its two green leaves swaying unconsciously atop its head.
“Sunke?”
While Sunkern curiously examined its surroundings, Jiang Ming, who had been eagerly waiting for this moment, rushed inside with Dratini.
“Sunkeee!”
As the first living creature Sunkern encountered, Jiang Ming immediately earned its affection.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming carefully cradled Sunkern in his trembling hands.
Once he confirmed that the tiny creature felt real to the touch, the emotions he had been suppressing for days suddenly burst forth.
He raised Sunkern high above his head, his voice trembling.
“I really… I really created a Pokémon!”
Dratini could sense its Trainer’s excitement and happily flew around him.
Once his initial excitement had subsided, Jiang Ming hurriedly took Sunkern to the examination room for a thorough physical checkup.
While he was at it, he also scanned and recorded Sunkern’s genetic code.
With the technology available in this world, creating something from nothing might be extremely difficult, but working with an existing organism was a different matter entirely.
Moreover, now that he had Sunkern’s genetic code, Jiang Ming would be able to use this world’s technology to create more of them himself in the future!
Several hours later, after examining the excellent results across every category in the medical report, Jiang Ming finally felt completely reassured.
“As expected, the System really delivers!” he exclaimed, thoroughly convinced.
In addition, information about Sunkern had now appeared in the System’s Pokédex.
(The author will only include Pokémon data in the main text this once. Information about subsequent Pokémon will be posted as images in the paragraph comments.)

Before Jiang Ming could finish reading Sunkern’s information, the System suddenly switched to a different screen.
“Host has successfully created a Pokémon. Pokémon Detection function unlocked!”
“Host has successfully created a Pokémon. Pokédex Collection function unlocked!”
Two consecutive notifications flashed before his eyes.
Huh???
Jiang Ming was momentarily dumbfounded.
I thought you were a Pokémon Creation System?
However, when it came to the System, Jiang Ming didn’t dare to be careless.
He immediately examined the two newly unlocked sub-functions.
Both were relatively straightforward.
As its name suggested, Pokémon Detection allowed Jiang Ming to view detailed information about any Pokémon, provided its entry had already been unlocked in his Pokédex.
As for the Pokédex Collection function, that was something else entirely.
It offered tangible rewards!
Within this feature, Jiang Ming could see a series of progress bars.
The number of different Pokémon species he created would determine how far those bars advanced.
Once he completed a progress bar, he would receive a Legendary Pokémon.
Yes, an actual Legendary Pokémon—not merely its genetic template!
At first, Jiang Ming had fantasized about eventually obtaining genetic templates for Legendary Pokémon from the System.
He had imagined assembling a group of photographers on one side and a squad of big-headed fish on the other, becoming so powerful that even heaven itself would have to acknowledge his supremacy.
Who would dare challenge him then?
But after seeing this achievement-based collection feature, Jiang Ming realized that such fantasies would probably remain just that—fantasies.
Then again, Legendary Pokémon were extraordinarily powerful beings.
Even with the System’s assistance, gathering all the necessary materials to create them would probably take him an extremely long time.
Besides, judging from the System’s description, these Legendary Pokémon apparently wouldn’t suffer from the adaptation problems Jiang Ming had worried about.
Unfortunately, he probably wouldn’t discover the truth until he obtained his first Legendary Pokémon.
Turning his attention back to the Pokédex Collection interface, Jiang Ming carefully examined the various progress bars and noticed some additional details.
Although completing each progress bar would reward him with a Legendary Pokémon, the exact rewards varied.
The simplest progress bar required him to unlock just twenty different Pokédex entries to obtain a Legendary Pokémon.
However, the reward could only be a Legendary Pokémon that wasn’t already designated as a specific reward elsewhere in the system.
Other progress bars offered guaranteed categories of rewards.
For example, unlocking the Pokédex entries of any forty Pokémon species from the Kanto region would randomly reward him with one of the Legendary birds.
For every additional forty species he collected, he could obtain another bird until he had collected all three.
Once he had obtained all three Legendary birds, if the total number of Pokémon entries he had unlocked exceeded three hundred, he would receive Lugia.
The same principle applied to Ho-Oh, Regigigas, and the other Legendary Pokémon associated with them, including the lesser Legendary Pokémon under their respective spheres of influence.
The only difference was that obtaining each additional Legendary Pokémon classified as a major deity required one extra Pokédex entry.
The remaining rewards followed similar rules and didn’t need to be explained individually.
After reviewing the system, Jiang Ming couldn’t help rubbing his temples.
He was beginning to understand why the System had introduced this Pokédex Collection feature.
There were simply too many Pokémon.
Some species weren’t particularly suitable for him to create, or wouldn’t be of much practical use even if he did.
The Mankey evolutionary line was one example.
Jiang Ming suspected that the System had designed this feature as a way of dangling attractive rewards in front of him, encouraging him not to create Pokémon solely according to his personal preferences.
He had no way of knowing whether his theory was correct, but the rewards were certainly tempting enough to motivate him.
“Fine, fine. The System hasn’t forced me to do anything, which is already pretty considerate of it. I should show a little goodwill in return.”
Jiang Ming immediately resolved to unlock every single Pokédex entry!
Of course, his own collector’s instinct was also partly responsible for this decision.
With that settled, Jiang Ming looked at Dratini, who was busy playing with Sunkern, and smiled faintly.
“All right, you two. Let’s get ready to head outside.”
Besides, Sunkern clearly disliked being confined indoors.
It had already grown restless and was desperately eager to bask in the sunlight.
Now that Sunkern had successfully entered this world, Jiang Ming had plenty of work ahead of him.
His first task was to introduce Sunkern to everyone at Zhengming Company, including Xue Wenhui.
He would demonstrate his capabilities as the company’s new boss while hopefully earning a few Reputation Points in the process.
After all, creating Pokémon wasn’t his only priority.
He needed to obtain a Poké Ball as well.
He couldn’t keep Dratini cooped up in a suitcase forever.
After returning to the rest area, Jiang Ming carefully tidied up both Dratini and Sunkern, straightened out his own appearance, and finally headed outside.
