The towering man’s creepy, unblinking pupils sent a chill down the Myriad Dao Sect master’s spine.

Elder Go rubbed his chin and glanced at Bai Ruo and her three disciples.

Lei Feng slumped against the wall behind him and fainted. Li Ming mumbled, "Do something, Senior Sister."Full novel: I Cultivate My Master's Fake Techniques — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Wait," Jia Xin grumbled. ’Hmm, are there any loopholes left?’ She was thoroughly checking her plan.

"Go ahead, drink." Elder Go waved his hand to signal him to proceed. ’Let this brat check for problems first.’ His body trembled for a moment in excitement. ’Her blood should allow me to enter the Complete Perfection of Blood Qi.’

"Yes, Master." The man couldn’t control himself as he hurriedly rushed towards Bai Ruo.

Jia Xin’s face turned sharp. She cleared her throat and hissed, "Do you all want to die?"

Elder Go hurriedly raised his hand. "Han, wait."

The towering guy stopped just a few steps away from Bai Ruo. He gritted his teeth. ’Just a bit away.’ He mused, clenching his teeth. ’If I can refine her blood, I can win against that old fool Mo.’

"Master," he said, pivoting and raising his voice doubtfully, "I think she is bluffing."

’A powerful sect and a treasure?’ The Ninth Elder recalled the details from the letter.

He folded his hands behind his back. "Speak. What kind of treasure is your sect hiding?"

Jia Xin momentarily froze, but her master covered for her by laughing. "Ahahaha! What are you afraid of?"

Elder Go didn’t blink. He focused on the Myriad Dao Sect members’ reactions. He noticed Jia Xin’s pause. As for Li Ming, he was as innocent as ever, with a fearful expression on his face. Lei Feng was already out of the picture.

"There, you!" He pointed at Jia Xin and roared, "I suspect you’re lying."

"I’m surprised that you did know about our sect’s secret." Jia Xin smiled bitterly. She had come up with an answer in less than a second.

’Good going.’ Bai Ruo would’ve given her a thumbs-up if her hands were free.

"It’s a Level 1, Superb-grade sword," she said coldly. "Do you think you can withstand its power?"

"Is it with you?" Han’s eyes glowed as he swiftly scanned the master and her disciples.

’Superb?’ Elder Go yelled internally in shock.

"Elder, should we run?" someone questioned, his voice stammering in panic.

"That weapon, even if used by someone who just entered Entry of Blood Qi, can kill us," another followed. He even slowly sneaked backwards, ready to escape.

"Yes, Elder, let’s run."

"Didn’t our sect master say safety comes first?"

"Yes, let’s escape."

All of the Ninth Elder’s followers came to a decision within a few moments. They were just at the cave exit, waiting for a single word, ’yes’, from Elder Go to slip away.

Jia Xin’s lips almost curved up in joy, but she held them stiff with control. She slowly winked at her master.

Bai Ruo grinned coldly. "Final chance. Make your decision carefully."

Li Ming bit his lips. ’Go away,’

Unfortunately, the Ninth Elder wasn’t Elder Mo. He tilted his head and nonchalantly pressed, "Then why were you caught by a weakling like Mo?"

His followers locked their eyes on Jia Xin and her master. They rapidly moved back to their original positions, as if they weren’t ready to get away.

"Because we fell into a trap!" Jia Xin shouted. "And do you think we would carry that precious sword with us?"

Her master chimed in plainly, as if she weren’t tied up at all. "My youngest disciple is invincible within the same realm. He has the weapon." She lowered her head towards them and snarled, "Once he finds out we’re here, you’re dead."

Jia Xin and her master burst out grinning. "You’d better hope we’re fine."

Elder Go’s followers swiftly moved back towards the exit to slip away, waiting for one word from their elder.

"I’ll kill her, and then the problem will be solved!" Han barked, unable to bear it any longer.

The Ninth Elder was lost in his thoughts while his followers moved back to their initial positions again.

"Kill her, and the problem is solved, but..." Go muttered, stroking his forehead. "How can he find us if we kill you?"

He hoped Bai Ruo would clarify things for him. No one had managed to find the Blood Fiend Sect until now, and that was their confidence. If they killed the captives and fled, a small sect like theirs wouldn’t even be able to find their footprints.

While he was doubtful, Bai Ruo and Jia Xin were going crazy internally, hoping their bluff would work.

When he wanted an answer, they couldn’t hide their joy. Their pupils widened in happiness as they smiled widely. The duo used their sudden emotions to act.

’What the heck is this bullshit?’ Li Ming tilted his head slightly. ’When did our sect have a Superb-grade sword?’ He couldn’t keep up with his master and senior sister.

"Because you’ve never come across anyone with secret techniques like ours." Bai Ruo began her bluff. "We have powerful tracking techniques."

Elder Go’s followers once again moved back mechanically. He couldn’t control himself as he cursed, "Fools, stay put in one place!"

They glanced at each other. A few moved back, while the rest remained still.

"Crap!" He cursed, pointing his index finger. "Even invincible Level 1 sects haven’t found our hideout yet, but you claim an unregistered sect like yours can?"

Jia Xin turned towards her master, silently signalling that bluffing was her speciality.

"We have a technique that can sense the blood of cultivators who practise the same technique." Bai Ruo took over as her disciple wanted.

"What kind of technique is that?" Elder Go didn’t fall for her bullshit. His eyes seemed to pierce through her lies as he glared at her deeply, as if seeing her very soul.

"In this world, there are many powerful arts unknown to you." Bai Ruo mocked him. "And I’ll give you proof right now: Mo Xuan is watching us."

"What?" the Ninth Elder’s followers exclaimed.

"He drank my first disciple’s blood, so I can sense that he is just a few hundred metres away from us." Bai Ruo played the final trump card she had planned.

’This chick is telling the truth.’ Go clicked his tongue. ’Mo is cunning and cautious. He’s definitely watching us.’

"Now, what to—"

Before Han could inquire about what to do, the Ninth Elder grumbled, "Let’s kill that sect disciple first."

His lips curved up. "Would you mind..."

He was cut off as Bai Ruo said, "My disciple is hunting in this forest. Go find him if you can."

Elder Go didn’t move forward. ’Something is fishy here.’ He couldn’t understand why she was giving away details. He had expected to torture the information out of them.

"Do you think you can defeat my junior brother?" Jia Xin covered for her, noticing his expression.

"You’re so overconfident." The Ninth Elder relaxed. "I’ve seen many cultivators like you who dare to claim invincibility in the same realm without knowing there is always a higher mountain beyond the mountain."

He waved his hand. "Let’s kill him first."

Jia Xin sighed and fell asleep. Bai Ruo clenched her fist.

Meanwhile, Li Ming’s mouth hung open in astonishment. ’What? Did they both really manage to bluff them successfully?’

It worked out because the Blood Fiend Sect was cautious. Had it been another sect, they might not have succeeded.

A few days later.

"It’s him, isn’t it?" Elder Go removed his hood and asked.

Su Yang was in his vision, below the trees they were standing on.
