Undying Phoenix Fist Secret Art: Phoenix Ascends to the Heavens!
Su Yang had gained this secret art from the Undying Phoenix Wing Step.
’Second secret art!’ he mused as he flapped his wings. Boom! Leaving afterimages behind, he began to chase after Elder Mo.
’I won’t let this old fogey run away.’ He thought of how he had let Elder Go escape.
Whoosh!
Using a massive amount of Blood Qi, he dashed towards Mo Xuan.
’I’ve used up almost half my reserves.’ He scanned his Blood Qi wisps. ’Secret arts sure burn a lot of power.’
Thud!
Elder Mo paused as Su Yang appeared in front of him by leaping over him. Su Yang pivoted after landing and raised his arm.
"Phoenix Fist!"
A white-golden phoenix formed behind him and wrapped its claw around his right arm as he punched Elder Mo in the chest while flapping his wings.
Elder Mo froze in fear. He wanted to dodge and flee, but under the KRAAAAH! of the phoenix’s cry, he couldn’t move. His body felt an insane amount of pressure, and he instinctively wanted to kneel.
Bang!
Su Yang’s fist landed on his chest, flinging him ten metres into the air. Elder Mo hit the ground with a thud! and slid across it after landing. He stood up and coughed up blood.
"Cough!"
"Use a sealing talisman on yourself," Su Yang said coldly. "If you do, I can leave you alive."
’Dammit... dammit.’ Elder Mo cursed himself. ’I, who have always been cautious...’
With trembling hands, he pulled a yellow-coloured talisman from his storage ring and used it on himself.
’I shouldn’t have come for him!’
His greed for Su Yang’s power had caused his downfall.
Su Yang nodded. "Good."
Mo Xuan was now tied up in orange coils.
"It’s a Level 1 High-grade sealing talisman." Su Yang sensed the pressure from the binds and turned towards Si Yin, who stood still with his Blood Burning Art deactivated.
Whoosh!
Su Yang flashed in front of him and brought him to Elder Mo. Si Yin bit his lower lip as small tears formed in his eyes. Elder Mo closed his eyes.
Su Yang asked, "Why didn’t you try to run?"
Si Yin could have covered a few hundred metres if he had kept his Blood Burning Art going.
"Even Master was caught, so..." He sighed bitterly. "There’s no use."
"Yes, if you kept running, I would have caught up with you anyway." Su Yang’s lips curved up. "I’m impressed that you figured that out."
Si Yin knelt down. "Leave me alive." His eyes filled with tears. "I have an eighty-year-old grandmother, fifty-year-old parents, a five-year-old daughter, and a three-year-old son."
"Did you spare your prey?" Su Yang asked. "Didn’t people plead with you when you drained their blood?" He yelled icily. "Did you leave them alive?"
Si Yin fell silent!
Su Yang scratched his forehead. "You had this many sealing talismans, but not one for escaping?"
Si Yin swallowed and shouted, "Damn you, old fool!" He pointed his index finger at his master. "I warned you to buy at least one escape talisman, even for me." He choked on his tears. "But you stated that we should just be cautious and never engage in a doubtful battle at all."
Elder Mo’s gaze was fixed on a small pebble. He replied sadly, "It’s not my fault. Who would expect a normal kid to break out of a sealing talisman three minor realms higher than his own?" He glanced at the blue sky and golden sun. "This kid is a monster. We’re unlucky to have run into him."
’Superb-grade talisman, three minor realms higher. Without my secret art, I would be toast.’ Su Yang shook his head.
Despite the Phoenix Ascends to the Heavens secret art, half of the coils were still binding him. He was only able to unleash half of his power, but for someone like him, who could cross realms to fight, it was a piece of cake to suppress someone in the same realm.
Elder Mo was at Minor Perfection of the Blood Qi realm, just like him.
Su Yang said, "Seal yourself." Under his cold gaze, Si Yin used a Level 1 Mid-grade sealing talisman on himself. For someone at the Entry stage of the Blood Qi realm, it was enough.
Su Yang clapped his hands. "Now, Elder Mo..."
He lightly kicked Si Yin, sending the young man flying tens of metres away.
"Tell me, why did you target me?" He folded his arms.
’I cannot tell him that I caught his sect members.’ Mo Xuan was no fool. He knew he would be dead if he revealed everything.
"You’re the youngest and... weakest." His voice faltered at the end.
’As expected, everything is Master’s calculations.’ Su Yang rubbed his chin. ’She knew beforehand that the Blood Fiend Sect would enter the forest.’
Everything was a pure coincidence, not as he had thought.
"Now, how did you and that old fool from before come to the conclusion that I have a treasure?" he asked, raising his second doubt.
"Because... ah..." Mo Xuan blanked out. ’I cannot name his sect.’
"What?" Su Yang raised his palm as crimson Phoenix Flames manifested.
"Sect Master!" Mo Xuan couldn’t control himself as he screamed in fear.
"Your sect master?" Su Yang tilted his head. "How does he know about me?"
’No, mine. Your sect master.’ Mo Xuan’s pupils narrowed, and his eyes lit up with hope. ’I can save myself now.’
"Our sect master has a technique that can determine blood quality. He recently discovered that someone with high taste and powerful blood is in this forest." He threw out whatever he could think of. "So, he sent me to search."
"Huh?" Su Yang pointed at himself. "And that’s me?"
"Yes." Mo Xuan nodded. "You’re the only one in this forest with such qualities." He knelt down. "Noticing your power, I called for the Ninth Elder, Go..."
He then explained what had happened, only hiding the Myriad Dao Sect members.
"So, he believed a kid like me would possess a treasure instead." Su Yang held his forehead. "How did you all come up with the sword?"
He raised his eyebrows. "Wait, the treasure, fine..." He folded his hands behind his back. "But why the sword?"
Elder Mo began sweating. ’This is the biggest hurdle...’
He replied nervously, "Idiot Go believed that kids like you only have eyes for swords."
’Work out, damnit!’ He almost felt his bladder losing control.
"Huh?!" Su Yang’s mouth hung open in surprise. "Sword only?" He shook his head, not caring. "It doesn’t matter. Now, where is your headquarters?"
"We don’t have one." Elder Mo sighed. "We decide on an area randomly and exchange messages when we plan to meet."
Su Yang sighed. "If no place exists, how can they find you in the first place?"
He realised why everyone failed to find the Blood Fiend Sect. It never existed as a proper sect to begin with, so how could anyone find it?
"Now..." Su Yang then inquired about a few more details, including the forest itself.
"Let me go." Mo Xuan began to lose hope.
Thud! Bang!
He was at the peak of Minor Perfection in the Blood Qi realm, and he was the one who had activated the sealing talisman, so he hadn’t pushed it to its maximum power.
"How do you find your sect members?" Su Yang crouched down and questioned him sharply. "I know your sect must have a method to deal with traitors and the like."
Mo Xuan’s face paled.
