A huge fight happened at home today.
It all began this evening.
Mum gave some snacks to Anu and Doodu.
After that, she asked Anu to look after me and went to finish her chores.
I was on a baby mattress on the floor.
Anu and Doodu were eating from their plates, which were on the floor.
“Anuchi…” I called.
“Huh?”
“I want to taste it,” I said.
She picked one and came to me.
It was a sweet made from rice flour.
Fried and then sweetened with sugar syrup.
I tilted my head and licked it.
I didn’t want to take the risk of choking on it as I didn’t have teeth.
It tasted really nice.
I wanted to grow up fast so that I could eat all the sweets Mum make.
I wanted to feel the crunchiness of it.
But unfortunately, I had no teeth.
Anu let me lick it a few times, and then she ate it.
After that, she turned around to her plate.
Then froze for a few seconds and started counting her sweets.
“1…
3…
8…
4…
9…
5!”
Her counting made me smile.
“Did you take one from my plate?” Anu questioned the puppy.
“Woof”, Doodu denied the accusation.
“Don’t think you can fool me.
I know how to count.
I had four, and now there are only five.” Anu started the interrogation.
I raised my head and checked the situation.
There were two plates on the floor.
One belonged to Anu and the other was Doodu’s.
“Woof woof.” He denied the accusation again.
“No.
I don’t believe you.
I am taking one from you.” Anu took a piece from Doodu’s plate.
“Woof..” Doodu immediately swallowed one from Anu’s plate.
“No.
You are not allowed to do that.
You took one from mine.
That’s why I…” Anu said as she picked one more from Doodu’s plate and put it in her mouth.
“Woo woof…” Doodu didn’t hold back a bit and started stuffing his small mouth with the sweets from Anu’s plate.
Anu also started eating quickly from Doodu’s plate while pushing Doodu away from her own plate.
In no time, Anu and Doodu started fighting.
I happily watched the fight from my baby mattress.
I had no intention of stopping the two kids as I found it cute and dumb.
At the same time, I found it strange that both of them could understand each other.
“You…
you…” Anu started shivering as she pointed at Doodu.
Doodu was a clear winner in this game.
Mum gave almost thrice the number of sweets to Anu as she was a lot bigger than Doodu.
Also, Anu is her daughter.
So when they swapped the plates and ate in a frenzy, Doodu benefited a lot, and Anu lost this round.
“Give back my sweets.” Anu forcefully opened Doodu’s mouth in anger.
“Woo…” Doodu bit down.
“Ahh…” A cry came from Anu.
Doodu was biting Anu’s hand.
I still wasn’t worried.
Doodu was a baby.
On top of that, I have seen him bite others a lot.
A kind of instinct from him actually prevented him from biting too hard.
His bites would barely leave a tooth mark.
I too occasionally get small happy bites from him.
Then out of nowhere, Anu bit down on Doodu’s tail.
“Woo…” Doodu whimpered and continued biting.
“Stop it.
Stop it, or I will call Mum.”
“Both of you.
Stop it.” I gritted my toothless gum and threatened in a low voice.
Anu let go, and Doodu also let go.
“Come here,” I told both of them.
I checked Anu’s hand first.
There were faint tooth marks.
Nothing serious.
As I believed, Doodu could never hurt Anu.
“Wee…
ee…
eee…” Doodu was crying pitifully.
I grabbed Doodu and checked his tail.
His tail was shivering and standing straight.
There was no visible injury.
But clearly, Anu’s bite injured him.
“Why did you bite him?
He is a baby.
Younger than even me!” I helplessly asked Anu.
Anu was busy spitting out Doodu’s fur from her mouth.
“If you ever hurt him again, I will tell Mum that you peed on the bed, you broke the vase, not the cat and…
and all other secrets.” I threatened Anu.
“But he stole from my plate first,” Anu argued.
“So what?
He is a baby.
You are the eldest sister.
Instead of taking care of us, you are bullying him.” I scolded again.
I lowered my voice a bit and scolded her a lot.
Unlike Doodu, who didn’t really use force, Anu bit him hard, and it hurt him really badly.
After a few minutes, Anu and Doodu were sitting on the floor facing opposite directions.
Doodu was still whimpering pitifully.
In between, Mum came to check on me, and she saw that Anu and Doodu were not playing with each other.
She ignored it, as their fighting each other was not news anymore.
Both of them were sulking and not talking to each other.
It was cute.
