It's been a few months since that test occurred, and Akura has not realised it was a test and just wrote it off as the worst day of her life.
She initially wanted to ignore her parents, but that was easily discarded after her mother personally made Masato bring out his personal collection of dry-aged Dragon Meat. He was crying in tears since it was aged for 10 years, but both Mother and cub just ignored him as they happily ate the aged Dragon Meat Steak, and he later joined them to dine.
That day, Akura learned how to give a thumbs-up with her paws due to how divine the taste was.
At least Samiko hadn't discovered his 50 years of dry-aged Leviathan Meat that he received as a gift from his father.

"Snu- Knuu?" Akuna woke up from her sleep, opening her eyes tiredly before yawning.
'Mhh...' She stretches her front limbs forward while pushing back to her hips and tail, sniffing the air out of habit, expecting to find warm scents of her father and mother. But only cold, faint scent residues remain.
'Eh?' Her ears perked up, confused and looking around.
She moved her fluffy tail in front of her and used her front legs to stand on it, using it as a step so she could howl out for attention.
"Awoo~ Awoo~!"

But nobody responded to her howl.
'No way! Did that spirit kidnap my parents!' Her imagination naturally went crazy as she desperately dashed to the living room to find Aki, the personal maid she received 3 weeks ago.
"Awooo! Awwooooo!" She barges into the living room before...
Various floating balls popped, startling her as confetti drifted down on her.
Pitter-pat.
It gently landed and rustled on her head and oversized tail.
"Khuuu?"
In front of her are all the people whom she considered her family.
'Uncle Josh is here? Lulu too?'
She looked shocked before noticing party hats on all their heads. Which causes her brain to reset.

"Fufufu. Surprise~ My little fur-ball..." She picked up her cub while Akura was still trying to finish loading her Akura.exe.
Lumi rushes out and hugs Samiko from behind, hooking her chin on Samiko's shoulder. Looking at her adorable god-daughter, she squealed.
"Happy Birthday!!" She melted.
"Excuse me," Josh huffed as he dragged his wife away, whose nose was currently bleeding.
"Aah... " He shook his head and smiled gently. "Happy Birthday, Little Kun"
Josh proceeded to use his First-aid skill to ensure that his wife wouldn't die from blood loss.
"Khahahaha! I told you Aku will love it!" Masato claps his hands repeatedly.
"No, M'lord. I believe that she is currently overwhelmed with sensory overload" Aki appears beside the still-frozen Akura, seeing the adorable feature and expression, her heart skipped a beat, but she still managed to keep her poker face.
"Fufufu, I'm with Aki on this one, darling." She smiled softly while caressing Akura's fur.
"Khaa... Then should I bring out the main attraction?" Masato's tone has obviously decreased, deflated from Samiko not picking his side.
At that moment, Akura finally snapped back to reality right after Masato left the room.
"Yip?" 'My birthday? My birthday is today?'
She thought, shocked and confused, about why the system hadn't given a notification since it would've acted as her completion of the milestone.
Masato returned to the living room, carrying a massive tray of barbecued meats and veggies.
Josh chuckled and shook his head. "I swear that you're both the only parents to go the extra mile for her... Cooking the foods with a Fox Fire?"
If Akura heard this, her brain would have to restart once again. But fortunately, she is only focused on the cooked meat. Conveniently ignoring the veggies.
'Meat! Meat! Meat!' She drooled excitedly as her tail fluffed up and started wagging.
"Mhm.. She does make for a great fan..." Samiko nodded and mumbled as a certain cub's wagging tail was currently fanning her face.
"Khahaha! She looks like she's about to jump ou-"
Akura leapt out of Samiko's arms, arching so high in the air that it surprised everyone, and in impeccable body position for a fox, nonetheless! Her entire being is locked onto the piles of steaks.

She ignores the notification since it was insignificant. After all, Heaven is right there!
While everyone is watching in awe, one person swiftly snapped out of it and blinked to the spot beside the tray.
She pulls out a cosy cushion, especially Akura's favourite, and interrupts her journey to heaven.
As if everything is in slow motion, Akura's eyes widen as she makes a screech.
"Pyuuuuuuuuuh!!!!"
Her cute, small nose folded against the surface before forcibly diving into the cushion, which proceeded to bounce her away from the cushion.
'Nooooooooooo!' She yelled desperately in her head as she was in mid-air once again, moving away from heaven. Her four limbs were waving in desperation for some kind of miracle.
Her head turns to look at the monster who had blocked her path to heaven. It's her own personal maid, Aki!
"My apologies, Young Mistress. But this is for the greater good." She bowed down. 'After all, I don't want oil and juices to stain your beautiful coat.'
'How could you' "Kuuu..." She stares at Aki, who had betrayed her, with tears in her eyes before dramatically falling to the rug.
Everyone just stares at Akura, who is currently lying lifelessly on the ground.

"Fuuu... Fufufufufu!" "Khahahahaha!" "Kikikikikiki~" "Fhahaha!"
Everyone started laughing at what just happened.
'Life has no meaning... What's the point of life...' Akura lifelessly whimpered, as if her sole reason for living was taken away.
Even Aki started laughing! That damn traitor!
"Hehe..." Aki covers her mouth with her hand; her body clad in a maid uniform is shaking.
"Fufu... Aku... Don't you want to open your presents first? Then you can eat all you want..."
Akura's big ears perk up before standing up and sitting down properly in an instant.
"Kyu!" Her tail is swaying formally
"Fuu... Such a handful..."

It has taken 5 minutes for Akura to receive all the gifts and open them. The scents of succulent charred meats, just waiting for her to devour them! This is torture for her! She just wants to eat right now!
Despite thinking nobody would notice her hunger for steaks, everyone can clearly see drool dripping down the corner of her lips. Yet nobody spoke out.
All the gifts are blankets, manga-style meat plushies. a sleek, small top hat and a rainbow gem.
"Wait~" Samiko hums as she and Lumi prepare the plates and place the meats and veggies on everyone's plates. Making Akura wait in agonising pain.
'I want to eat! Mom! Please!'
"Kyuuuuuuuh," She howled impatiently.
"Fufu, few more seconds..."

"Now you can e-"
Akura finally jumped at the tray, before being caught by the traitorous Aki!
"Pip!" 'Let me go! I order you!' She barked at her.
"Young mistress, I have set up the plate with bountiful steaks for you. I have also cut it up for you to eat easily'
Her sentence froze Akura before huffing. Since Akura has decided to be merciful, she forgives and lets Aki redeem herself.
Aki smiled and carried her before placing her down on her favourite cushion, plates full of meat and hidden veggies in front of her.
She starts devouring the steaks.

"Kuugh..." She ate too much once again, becoming a rounded ball of fluff.
She should really eat less... But it is not her fault! It's simply the cooked meats' fault for tasting so good!
'Keuk...' She whines as everyone, including the redeemed Aki, rubs her belly.
'Stooph... ngggh...'
