The day has completely turned into dark.
Only a single night light was switched on in the room.
The dim yellow light irritated and bothered Xu Qiaoqiao.
She had been locked up for six hours already.
But she still hasn’t comprehended what she had done wrong.
Logically, after that one kiss, the issue should have been resolved, right?
What’s happening now?
The ring of her cell phone suddenly pierced the silence.
Xu Qiaoqiao picked it up and furrowed her eyebrows when she saw the flashing word “Principal”.
She stared at the screen for a while before she answered.
Before she could say “hello”, she heard the principal’s frantic voice rushing out: “Qiaoqiao, you need to come to the orphanage immediately, be quick!”
Her voice was trembling with the urge to cry, and Xu Qiaoqiao quickly stood up: “Principal, what happened?”
“It’s Sweet!
After her adoption failed today, she locked herself in the room crying.
She hasn’t spoken or eaten all day, and just now we found out she’s run onto the rooftop alone!!
Is she thinking of…
committing suicide by jumping?”
“What?!”
With these words, Xu Qiaoqiao’s heart clenched all of sudden.
She widened her eyes, “Principal, I’m coming right now.”
After hanging up the phone, she dashed over to the door and started banging on it forcefully, “Is anyone there?”
Immediately, the driver’s voice responded from the door: “Miss.”
“I need to see Big Brother, I know I’ve made a mistake!”
No matter what, she had to see Xu Mushen first.
She knew that no one else would dare to let her leave.
The driver hurriedly responded: “I’ll go get Mr.
Xu right away.”
Xu Qiaoqiao paced around restlessly in her room, anxiously waiting.
Five minutes later, the driver’s voice traveled in, “Mr.
Xu is here!”
She immediately leaned into the door and peered through the peephole: “Big Brother, I know I was wrong, please let me out.”
The man stood there, his profound gaze focused on the peephole, as if he knew exactly where she was looking from.
Hearing her words, he slowly responded: “You know?”
“Yes, I know.
I shouldn’t have kissed you, shouldn’t have entered your room.
I really know I was wrong, please, let me out!”
The man lowered his gaze, “That’s all?”
What else?
With Sweet consuming all her thoughts, and her mind in a complete mess, Xu Qiaoqiao couldn’t think of anything else: “I was wrong, everything about me was wrong.
Whatever you say is right.
I promise, I’ll listen to your words from now on.
Big Brother, I beg you, let me out.
A friend of mine is in trouble…
I need to see her.”
A friend?
Xu Mushen’s eyes twitched, a sneer forming in his heart.
That must be Mr.
Jin, right?
Thinking of Xu Qiaoqiao’s habit of lying, he didn’t believe her at all.
Coming here was a mistake in the first place.
If this woman realized her mistake in just six hours, it would be a miracle.
With that thought, Xu Mushen turned around to leave.
Xu Qiaoqiao was getting desperate, “Big Brother, Big Brother!”
Xu Mushen continued walking.
“It’s really a matter of life and death, Big Brother, please let me go!”
He still kept walking forward.
“Xu Mushen!!”, Xu Qiaoqiao was utterly exasperated, “You bastard, let me out!”
Xu Mushen came to a halt and turned his head, “What did you say?”
Xu Qiaoqiao was frantic, “Do you know that what you’re doing is illegal?”
“Illegal?” Xu Mushen scoffed, “That’s still better than letting you out to disgrace the family!”
Xu Qiaoqiao clenched her fists: “I’m asking you one last time, are you letting me out or not!”
