Splash, splash…
A fish with reddish scales flopped wildly on the edge of the water-filled field.
After being splashed by the water, it quickly regained its balance and darted beneath the green aquatic plants.
It probably had no idea what had just happened.
One moment, it had been swimming peacefully; the next, it had nearly been slapped out of the water.
Its tail flicked anxiously before it disappeared beneath the dense vegetation.
“Fish!
There are fish!
And they look about three fingers long!”
“Treasure-hunting Mommy Bear is at it again!
This time she found a fish just by doing a somersault!
Hahaha, that’s incredible!”
“Judging from the scales, it looks like a carp, doesn’t it?”
“Hahaha, Mommy Bear, you’re really something!
Looks like you’re getting a feast tonight.”
“Let me count: bamboo fungus and bamboo shoots yesterday, wild mushrooms today, and now carp.
Wow, Zhu Bo is practically living off the mountains!”
“Another wild delicacy has appeared!
I’m so jealous I’m practically writhing in envy!”
“Mommy Bear: Daddy, praise me!
Praise me!”
Su Lin was also surprised.
Did this panda mother really have some kind of treasure-hunting ability?
She had casually rolled around once and somehow managed to discover a fish hiding beneath the aquatic plants.
The giant panda was startled when the fish suddenly thrashed in front of her.
She watched helplessly as the fish disappeared beneath the water plants.
Then her beady black eyes suddenly lit up.
It was as if she had just discovered a new game.
The giant panda stood up, shaking her round body, and charged into the shallow water.
Her short, thick legs moved surprisingly quickly as she tried to catch the fish.
When Su Lin was a child, he had once caught fish in the fields.
Back then, heavy rainfall had caused a nearby reservoir to release water, flooding the surrounding fields.
As a result, many fish had ended up in the shallow water.
After growing up, Su Lin had never experienced anything like that again.
Seeing the giant panda enthusiastically trying to catch fish brought back those childhood memories, and he couldn’t help but become interested as well.
The viewers were even more excited.
Many of them wished they could reach through the screen and catch the fish themselves.
After all, scenes of people catching fish in mountain fields were something they rarely got to see.
“Zhu Bo, take me with you!
I’ll bring a fishing net!”
“Wow, catching fish in the fields!
I used to do that all the time when I was little.
It brings back so many memories.
Of course, now that I’m grown up, I still catch fish—except now I’m catching fish in the office!
Hahaha.”
“SuSu, hurry up and catch some!
I want grilled fish!”
“That guy with the fishing net is hilarious!
Aren’t you planning to leave even one fish for Zhu Bo?
Hahaha!”
The giant panda’s movements were both clumsy and surprisingly agile.
She repeatedly slapped her paws beneath the aquatic plants.
Every now and then, she actually managed to catch a fish, only for it to wriggle free and escape.
The panda’s round bottom swayed from side to side as she hurried through the shallow water, her eyes fixed intently on every ripple beneath the plants.
“Mommy Bear, come over here and watch your cubs.”
Su Lin took off the basket and found a stable, safe place to put it down.
Whoosh!
The giant panda was so absorbed in catching fish that she didn’t hear him at first.
When she finally turned her head, she gave Su Lin a questioning look and let out a soft cry, as if inviting him to join her.
“If you don’t come back now, you won’t get any fruit!”
Su Lin deliberately emphasized the word fruit.
The moment the giant panda heard it, her ears twitched.
Her expression instantly became serious.
She paused for a moment before splashing through the water and running toward him.
“Keep an eye on the babies.
Don’t go down into the water.”
The giant panda blinked her beady black eyes, then obediently nodded and wrapped her front paws around the basket containing her cubs.
Su Lin glanced back several times as he hurried toward the courtyard.
“Hahaha, I’m dying!
Fruit really is Mommy Bear’s weakness.
The moment she hears that there won’t be any food later, she becomes obedient!”
“It’s like watching a naughty child!”
“Guys, if I went up to a giant panda and tried to interact with it, do you think it would even acknowledge me?”
“Nope!”
“No!
+9999”
The viewers burst into laughter.
The giant panda really had listened to Su Lin and obediently stayed behind with her cubs.
Although her eyes occasionally drifted toward the water and the fish beneath the plants, she resisted the temptation to run back down.
After all, keeping her babies safe was more important.
Still, she kept looking longingly toward the courtyard.
When Su Lin returned home, he found that the Forestry Bureau had indeed delivered the supplies.
Several boxes and bags had been neatly piled beneath the eaves.
He temporarily ignored them.
After putting down his backpack and phone, Su Lin found a thick, dark-red plastic bucket in the storeroom.
He changed into a pair of tall rubber boots and hurried back outside.
From the courtyard, the giant panda’s eyesight seemed better than before.
The moment she spotted Su Lin’s familiar figure, she excitedly raised her head and let out several loud cries.
It was almost as if she were saying:
Come quickly!
Come quickly!
Su Lin placed the bucket on the ground and crouched beside the water.
He stared intently at the aquatic plants.
A faint ripple appeared.
His hand shot forward.
Splash!
He grabbed a fish with reddish scales and a wildly thrashing tail.
Su Lin looked at it carefully.
At first, he had thought the fish Mommy Bear discovered was a carp.
But after catching it himself, he realized it was a red-tailed silver carp, a freshwater fish that resembled an ordinary carp.
To his surprise, there were quite a few fish living in the mountain fields and waterways.
Before long, Su Lin had caught three or four fish.
Not all of them were red-tailed silver carp.
There were also several ordinary carp.
Red-tailed silver carp is a hybrid freshwater fish related to silver carp and common carp.
Its flesh is tender and flavorful, making it a popular choice for freshwater dishes.
Looking at the lively fish swimming inside the bucket, Su Lin couldn’t help swallowing.
Looks like tonight’s dinner is going to be wild mushroom and fish soup.
After finishing his preparations, Su Lin returned to the field.
The moment the giant panda saw him, she went wild.
She charged through the shallow water, splashing everywhere.
Within moments, large patches of her black-and-white fur were soaked, and water splattered all over Su Lin’s clothes.
Su Lin was bending down to examine the fish when the panda suddenly pressed both muddy paws against his back.
Two clear paw prints appeared on his clothes.
The panda stared at the prints with curiosity.
Then she pressed her paws against him again, apparently fascinated by the marks she had left behind.
“Mommy, stop being naughty.
If you’re not going to help, go back and take care of your cubs.”
Su Lin bent down and splashed a handful of water onto the panda’s face.
The giant panda blinked.
She stared at Su Lin’s mischievous smile.
Then she slowly withdrew her paw.
She lowered her body and slapped the water with one paw, clearly trying to get revenge.
Su Lin had been prepared for it and easily dodged.
He couldn’t help laughing.
“Waaah!
Splashing water!
Splashing water!
Don’t dodge!”
The panda became increasingly frustrated. This story is hosted at g.com.
She chased after Su Lin and splashed several more times, but he avoided every attack.
Finally, the giant panda stomped around impatiently.
With a frustrated whimper, she plopped down onto her bottom and began smacking the water plants with her short forelegs.
Water splashed everywhere.
“Hahaha!
She’s getting angry!”
Su Lin couldn’t stop laughing.
But after several more slaps, the panda suddenly froze.
She seemed to feel something moving beneath her.
Her chubby body began twisting and wriggling.
She looked down between her hind legs and pawed at the water several times.
Nothing.
She twisted her body and reached one paw toward her rear.
Still nothing.
The giant panda kept turning and turning until she lost her balance.
With a soft plop, she rolled onto her back like a giant roly-poly toy.
“I’m dying of laughter!
She’s so silly and cute!”
“Mommy Bear, is there a fish under your butt?
Hahahaha!”
“She’s so round and chubby!
That pose is killing me!”
“Oh my God, I can already feel my laugh lines getting deeper!”
“I strongly recommend not watching this while wearing a face mask.
You’ll laugh until it falls off!”
The giant panda lying upside down in the water and grass was ridiculously adorable.
The unexpected scene sent the entire live stream into an uproar.
Su Lin couldn’t help laughing as he watched her flail her short limbs.
He walked over, intending to help her up.
But before he could reach her, the giant panda suddenly stretched out one paw.
A red-tailed silver carp with a bright red tail was caught between her claws.
Su Lin stared at it.
Then he finally understood.
No wonder she had been digging around under herself for so long.
A fish had somehow ended up beneath her body!
“Wow!
That’s incredible!
How does Mommy Bear manage to find something every time she rolls over?
Hahaha!”
“999!
There really is a fish!”
“Mommy Bear: Fish, you crawled under my butt!
Just wait.
Daddy is going to roast you!”
“Mommy Bear: All I have to do is eat, roll around, and search for treasures.
Somehow, I find something every time!”
The person and panda were having a great time.
But not far away in the forest, several Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys were watching the scene.
They scratched their ears, rubbed their cheeks, and jumped excitedly between the branches.
They recognized the familiar two-legged creature in the field.
They wanted to come down and play too.
Unfortunately, there was a giant panda beside him.
And judging from the panda’s possessive behavior, she clearly wasn’t interested in sharing her human companion.
The monkeys became increasingly restless, jumping around like ants on a hot pan.
“Chirp, chirp…”
The larger golden snub-nosed monkey called out to another monkey.
From its tone and gestures, it seemed to be discussing something important.
The monkey beside it listened carefully.
Then both of them looked toward the giant panda and Su Lin in the distance.
It was obvious that they had something in mind.
And judging from their expressions…
It probably wasn’t going to be peaceful.
I hope you’re enjoying Su Lin’s journey and the growing bond between him and his animal companions.
