Su Lin had a strange dream the night before.
In his dream, a group of wild boars had destroyed his vegetable garden, while other wild animals had sneaked in to steal his vegetables and melons.
He had spent the entire night chasing them around the garden.
When he woke up the next morning, however, he discovered that his vegetable garden really had been raided.
And the culprit was a familiar face.
Su Lin woke to the sound of birds chirping in the early morning.
He got out of bed and, as usual, turned on his livestream.
The number of viewers in the livestream room quickly began to climb.
Su Lin was eager to see how the vegetables and fruits he had planted the previous night had grown.
But before he could even leave the house, the giant panda sitting near the door suddenly let out several deep, threatening growls.
A giant panda usually made such sounds when it sensed a stranger or another animal nearby.
Realizing that something was wrong, Su Lin quickly walked toward the door.
Several familiar figures stood scattered around the courtyard.
They were baring their teeth and making anxious noises, seemingly nervous about something.
They didn’t dare rush inside, probably because they were wary of the giant panda guarding the doorway.
When Su Lin finally saw the animals clearly, he froze.
How had the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys gotten into his courtyard?
“Mommy Bear, don’t get agitated.”
Su Lin gently patted the giant panda’s head, trying to calm it down.
The drone was already broadcasting the scene, and the viewers immediately witnessed the unusual standoff that had begun so early in the morning.

Aren’t these the vegetables I planted yesterday?
Where had they gotten them?
As Su Lin approached, he caught a familiar fragrance drifting through the air.
Could it be…?
The moment the Sichuan golden monkeys saw Su Lin, their previous hostility toward the giant panda disappeared.
They immediately became excited.
They jumped around happily, making cheerful calls.

Su Lin squatted down and pointed at the fresh vegetables in their arms.
“Little Jin, where did you get these?”
Although he already had a pretty good idea, he didn’t expose them immediately.
The Monkey King—the larger golden snub-nosed monkey that had broken up the fight the previous day—held several cucumbers and tomatoes in its arms.
It turned toward Su Lin’s vegetable garden and excitedly pointed toward it, as though it had discovered a treasure and was eager to show him.
Then something unexpected happened.
The Monkey King glanced at the giant panda.
It chirped several times.
Then it walked over and handed the vegetables in its arms to Mommy Bear.
“Eek?”
The giant panda stared at the vegetables in confusion.
Its already adorable expression became even more comical, its black eyes filled with innocent bewilderment.
“Chirp chirp!”
After handing over the vegetables, the Monkey King turned around and called to the other monkeys.
The Sichuan golden monkeys immediately followed.
One after another, they brought their “treasures” over and presented them to Su Lin.
Because of his natural affinity with animals, Su Lin immediately understood what the monkeys were trying to do.
They were bribing the giant panda with cucumbers and tomatoes so they could get closer to him.
Su Lin couldn’t help being impressed.
These Sichuan golden monkeys were surprisingly intelligent.
They had already realized how possessive Mommy Bear could be.
And instead of provoking her, they had figured out a way to win her over.
Unfortunately, even a giant panda couldn’t resist delicious food.
Mommy Bear stared blankly at the cucumber and tomato stuffed into her paws.
She sniffed them.
A fresh, familiar fragrance entered her nose.
Her black eyes immediately lit up.
She sat down, grabbed the cucumber, and took a large bite.
Crunch!
The giant panda chewed happily.
Then she tilted her head toward Su Lin with a proud expression, as if saying,
“Daddy, look!
I got something good!”
Su Lin’s lips twitched.
What a shameless foodie.
She had been bought off with just a few vegetables.
After successfully winning over the giant panda, the Sichuan golden monkeys immediately gathered around Su Lin.
The viewers had expected another hilarious argument between the panda and the monkeys.
Instead, the monkeys had simply solved the problem with vegetables.
The unexpected development left everyone stunned before they burst into laughter.

The monkeys stared at him expectantly, waiting for his praise.
Su Lin suddenly understood.
These monkeys were probably being so persistent because he had refused their gift the previous day.
Perhaps after noticing the delicious fragrance coming from his vegetable garden, they had assumed that humans liked these fruits and vegetables too.
They had stolen the vegetables I grew…
only to bring them back as gifts to me.
Su Lin couldn’t help laughing.
“You little troublemakers.”
He reached out and gently stroked the Monkey King’s golden fur.
The fur was incredibly soft and smooth.
“Little Jin, thank you.
I appreciate the gifts.”
The Monkey King immediately became excited.
“Chirp!
Chirp!
Chirp!”
The other monkeys followed suit, jumping around happily as if they had just accomplished something important.
Su Lin smiled.
“However, there’s one thing you need to understand.”
He pointed toward the vegetable garden.
“That garden belongs to me.
It has an owner.”
“You can’t just pick vegetables whenever you want, understand?”
The Monkey King tilted its head.
It stared at Su Lin with its bright eyes, seemingly trying to understand his words.
Seeing the scene, the viewers in the livestream burst into laughter.
These monkeys had actually pulled off the classic trick of “borrowing a melon to offer to Buddha.”
They had stolen the vegetables from Su Lin’s garden…
…and then brought them back as gifts for him.
What an ingenious operation.
The story is slowly getting more exciting, and Su Lin’s little family of animal companions is only growing stronger.
