“You were planning to cheat on me from the very beginning, weren’t you?” Leon Sterling said calmly, stirring the tomato and egg rice noodles in front of him.

He still remembered that phone call from last night.

Hazel Sinclair said righteously, “Fine, then I won’t.

There.”

“We’re going to get divorced anyway.”

Leon Sterling put down his chopsticks, stood up, and grabbed her wrist.

His jet-black eyes were filled with cold indifference.

“You’re planning to divorce me?”

Hazel Sinclair tried to pull her hand back, but he was far too strong.

Left with no choice, she looked at Leon Sterling and said with exceptional calm, “I’ve been thinking about it.”

The moment she said that, Leon Sterling released her hand and sat back down, falling completely silent.

A look of confusion and helplessness appeared on his handsome face, as if he couldn’t understand why Hazel Sinclair would still want to divorce him when he was already trying so hard.

Just then, Hazel Sinclair started to berate him.

“Who’s to blame but yourself for being incompetent?

If you were even remotely capable, I wouldn’t be thinking about divorcing you.”

After hearing this, Leon Sterling stared intently at her and asked in a serious tone, “So as long as I’m capable, you won’t divorce me?”

“That’s right.

You were so promising before,” Hazel Sinclair said with a nod.

“Okay.” Leon Sterling silently committed this to memory.

After breakfast, Hazel Sinclair was about to wash the dishes, but the man snatched them away.

“I’ll wash.

You go put on some sunscreen so you don’t get sunburned.”

After washing the dishes, he ran to the closet and rummaged around for the sun-protective clothing he had bought earlier.

Downstairs, Hazel Sinclair sat on the back of the electric scooter as Leon Sterling started accepting orders.

It was the morning rush hour, and traffic was heavy.

Cars and electric scooters were all crammed onto the road.

Watching the scene, Hazel Sinclair sighed to herself.

‘So many people.’

While Leon Sterling went to pick up an order, Hazel Sinclair waited on the scooter.

After following him for a few deliveries, Hazel Sinclair quickly grew tired of it.

She got off at a mall and told him, “You go deliver by yourself.

I’m going to look around the mall.”

Hearing this, Leon Sterling glanced at her, then took out a tissue to wipe the sweat from her face.

“Feeling hot?”

“I told you to stay home, but you insisted on coming out,” Leon Sterling said, slightly displeased.

Hazel Sinclair let him wipe the sweat from her face and retorted, “Mind your own business.

Go on and earn your money.”

Leon Sterling threw the tissue in the trash, then took out his phone, opened WhatsApp, and transferred two thousand dollars to Hazel Sinclair.

“Take this money and get yourself a nice meal.”

“Let me know when you get home.”

Hazel Sinclair nodded.

After he left, she wandered around the mall.

She went into clothing stores to try on outfits, bought some anime-themed blind-box badges, and then found a well-reviewed restaurant to eat in.

Veridia was a big city, but it could also feel very small.

While waiting for her food, Hazel Sinclair saw Evelyn Kendrick’s fiancé, Jasper Fletcher, walk into the restaurant with another woman.

Hazel Sinclair had never seen the woman before, but she was holding onto Jasper Fletcher’s arm with a smile on her face.

Even Jasper Fletcher had a smile on his face; it was clear he was very happy.

He was especially doting toward the woman, and in his other hand, he carried three or four shopping bags, all printed with brand logos.

‘Holy crap, he’s cheating before they’re even married,’ Hazel Sinclair thought, watching the scene in utter shock.

She quickly pulled out her phone, found Evelyn Kendrick’s WhatsApp, and started a video call.

It rang for a long time before the other party finally answered.

Evelyn Kendrick was lying on a large sofa in her villa’s living room, a movie playing in the background.

Desserts were laid out beside her, and she had a face mask on, looking the very picture of indolence.

“Why are you video calling me?

I don’t recall us being on good enough terms to video chat,” Evelyn Kendrick said, her tone unpleasant as she looked at Hazel Sinclair through the phone screen.

Seeing her former arch-nemesis in her current state, Evelyn Kendrick felt a strange sense of dissatisfaction.

In the past, she used to compete with Hazel Sinclair over everything—outfits, makeup, skills, grades, you name it.

But for every time she won, Hazel Sinclair won too.

After several years, they still hadn’t determined a clear winner.

Then, the guy Hazel Sinclair married went bankrupt.

She had won, but Evelyn Kendrick felt no satisfying thrill of victory, only frustration.

Seeing her now in these cheap, ugly clothes only made her feel even more annoyed.

“Miss Kendrick, does that person look like your fiancé?” Hazel Sinclair didn’t say anything more, simply flipping her camera to point at the table in the distance.

Evelyn Kendrick stared at the screen, her eyes fixed on that face as her hand silently clenched into a fist.

“Address.”

Hazel Sinclair gave her the address, then asked with a smirk, “Miss Kendrick, your taste in men isn’t so great, is it?”

“At least the one I chose isn’t bankrupt yet,” Evelyn Kendrick shot back sarcastically.

“But my husband won’t cheat on me,” Hazel Sinclair retorted.

“You can recover from bankruptcy, but you can’t fix bad character.

That’s a real failure.”

“Look at him.

He’s already engaged, yet he’s still getting all tangled up and acting shady with another woman.”

Just as Hazel Sinclair finished speaking, the woman leaned in and kissed Jasper Fletcher right on the lips.

Seeing this, Hazel Sinclair’s reflexes were lightning fast, and she quickly took a screenshot.

An image of the two of them kissing was captured.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.” Hazel Sinclair said nothing, only clicking her tongue repeatedly.

Listening to her tongue-clicking, Evelyn Kendrick wanted nothing more than to tear Jasper Fletcher limb from limb.

‘How dare he humiliate me like this in front of my arch-rival!

This engagement must be called off.

And if I don’t skin the Fletcher Family alive for this, then my name isn’t Kendrick.’

“When it comes to picking men, we’re tied,” Evelyn Kendrick said.

But Hazel Sinclair didn’t think it was a tie at all.

“Miss Kendrick, what are you talking about?

This is no tie.

I won this round.”

“My husband may be bankrupt, but he knows how to earn money, he won’t cheat, and he dotes on me every day.

The man you found, on the other hand, has no morals.”

“Heh…” Evelyn Kendrick sneered.

Evelyn Kendrick arrived at the restaurant shortly after, with an attendant waiting on her as she entered.

She looked left and right, finally spotting Jasper Fletcher among the many tables.

He wasn’t wearing his usual black tailored suit today.

Instead, he and the woman were wearing matching outfits.

A white shirt paired with jeans, with a few stray locks of hair falling across his forehead, made him look like an innocent college student.

The woman sitting next to him wore a long white dress and a Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet on her wrist.

The red bracelet made her skin look even fairer.

Her beautiful hair was tied up with a hair tie, giving her an innocent and lovely appearance.

Seeing that Evelyn had arrived, Hazel Sinclair stood up and walked over.

“Miss Kendrick, you took your sweet time getting here.

The food’s getting cold,” Hazel Sinclair said, her voice loud enough for everyone dining nearby to hear.

As she passed Jasper Fletcher’s table, she pretended to glance over, then shouted in feigned shock, “Jasper Fletcher, what are you doing here?”

Her gaze then fell on the woman beside him.

“Who is she?

Aren’t you engaged to Evelyn Kendrick?”
