Hazel Sinclair shot up from the sofa when she saw the two comments.
“System, who posted these comments?”
“What business is it of his that I’m posting dance videos?”
Hazel was furious.
Her video was finally getting some traction, and the comment section was full of praise.
People were praising her dancing and her looks—all sorts of compliments.
But this person’s comments were a real eyesore.
‘And “disgraceful”?
If anyone’s being disgraced, it’s me.’
‘Does he live on the other side of Vastmire?
His reach is a little long, don’t you think?’
[Caleb Sinclair.
Your older brother.]
‘Oh, so it’s Simon’s older brother.’
‘But what right does he have to call me disgraceful?’
Annoyed and petty, Hazel deleted both of his comments.
‘I have no obligation to be nice to haters.’
“Didn’t they say they disowned the original host?
Why is he saying such weird things now?” Hazel asked the system.
The system thought for a moment before replying: [Is it possible he just said that in a fit of anger?]
[The original host drugged Leon Sterling to secure the marriage.
But the very next day, the news spread all over Veridia, affecting the Sinclair Group’s stock and reputation.]
It was Caleb who had spent a great deal of effort and used various means to quell the scandal.
After it was over, it was time to settle accounts.
Mr.
Sinclair and Caleb were furious.
They both flew into a rage at the original Hazel.
People say things they don’t mean when they’re at their angriest.
Back then, Mr.
Sinclair had pointed at the original host’s face in front of everyone and roared, “Get out—”
“Get out of the Sinclair Family—”
The original host tried to explain that she hadn’t been the one to leak the story, but they didn’t believe her.
They were all convinced she’d done it to pressure Leon Sterling into marrying her.
By then, the real young master, Simon Sinclair, had already returned to the Sinclair Family.
Coupled with the fact that the Sinclairs had all grown cold toward her, the original host was in a sensitive and fearful state of mind.
After being yelled at like that by Mr.
Sinclair, with no one around her trying to stop him and everyone just looking at her with disappointment, the original host took his words to heart.
That very day, she obtained the marriage certificate with Leon Sterling , without her family’s consent, and even without a wedding ceremony.
After getting married, the original host became a recluse in their villa.
Aside from attending mandatory banquets, she lived as a shut-in.
“Your character profile is contradictory,” Hazel reminded the system.
“How does a shut-in later develop the personality of a social butterfly?”
‘To social climb with the rich, the original host was even willing to go to bars.
The ‘money-grubbing, snobbish’ character traits don’t seem to fit her at all.’
[We generally call that character depth,] the system retorted, unwilling to admit the character profile was a mess.
In the CEO’s office on the top floor of the Sinclair Group tower, Caleb Sinclair held his phone, repeatedly watching the video of Hazel dancing.
‘She’s living in a tiny apartment, her clothes are so cheap, and she’s lost weight.
Leon Sterling hasn’t been taking care of her at all.’
Three months had passed since Leon Sterling’s bankruptcy, and Caleb Sinclair had been waiting for Hazel to come home the entire time.
But after more than three months, Hazel still hadn’t returned.
She hadn’t even made a single phone call or sent a single text.
‘What Father said back then was just out of anger.
How could he really kick out the daughter he’d raised for over twenty years?’
‘He was just angry that she didn’t respect herself, angry that she acted without thinking of the consequences.’
‘If she wanted to marry Leon Sterling, she could have just told us.
Father would have fought for her.’
Seeing his two comments had been deleted, Caleb Sinclair sighed.
“It’s been three years.
Is she still angry?”
When Leon Sterling came home today, he had bought a lot of ingredients, along with takeout containers and chopsticks.
“Are you really planning to set up a food stall?” Hazel asked, hurrying over to him.
“I can give it a try.” Leon nodded, washing out the insulated containers one by one.
“There’s a construction site nearby.
I’ll set up there and see how it goes.”
“That’s a lot of stuff.
Should you buy a tricycle?” Hazel asked, standing to the side and looking at the pile on the floor.
“I used the money you gave me to buy one.” As Leon Sterling said this, he kept his head down, his voice much quieter than usual, and the tips of his ears turned slightly red.
‘I’m so useless.
I should be the one making money for my wife, but now I’m taking money from Hazel.’
He felt too ashamed to face her.
“Don’t worry, once I start making money, I’ll definitely pay you back,” Leon quickly added.
“Sure.
When the time comes, I want you to pay me back tenfold.” Hazel nodded.
‘Tenfold…
that would be 500,000.’
‘Hehe, a cool 450,000 in profit.’
“Okay.”
Lying in bed, Hazel scrolled through videos of shirtless men, a smile plastered on her face.
She was so engrossed that she didn’t notice Leon Sterling lying right next to her, his gaze also fixed on her phone screen.
He watched as Hazel not only viewed the videos but also liked, saved, and commented on them.
[I only understood after getting married: my phone is where my heart is.
All the hotties are inside, and I’m stuck out here.
[Peeking]]
She swiped to the next video.
A man in a well-fitted black suit was kneeling on the floor.
Dim light cast down on him, his eyes were covered by a black blindfold, and his head was tilted back with his mouth slightly open, looking particularly divine.
Hazel sucked in a sharp breath, completely struck by the scene.
She immediately liked and saved it, bestowing upon him the title “Concubine Suit.”
[I don’t know what happened, my mouth just started smiling on its own [Drooling]]
“Is it that good-looking?” Leon Sterling’s voice sounded right next to her ear, scaring Hazel so badly that her phone clattered onto the bed.
Her eyes went wide, the smile froze on her face, and she felt incredibly guilty.
‘Busted checking out hot guys…
and by the main man himself!’
Hazel slowly turned her head toward Leon, a fawning smile spreading across her face.
“Not at all.
None of them are as handsome as you.”
“You’re the handsomest and the sexiest.”
Hearing her describe him like that, Leon’s expression darkened even more.
‘Uh oh,’ Hazel thought.
‘Wrong choice of words.’
She quickly tried to backtrack.
“Leon, what I meant was, you look the most handsome in a suit.
You’re completely my type.”
“Not sleazy, not sleazy at all!” Hazel said, waving her hands frantically.
‘But you have that whole abstinent vibe,’ she thought, ‘the kind that makes a person want to personally peel off every single layer of clothing.’
Leon gave her a dark look, then lay back down and turned his back to her.
Staring at his back, Hazel felt a massive headache coming on.
‘I’ve never had to placate an angry man before.
How am I supposed to do this?’
Hazel picked up her phone and started searching for how to placate a man.
After getting the results, she clicked on the first video.
As she was listening, the person in the video suddenly said:
“If you can’t placate an angry man, just get a new one.
We’re strong women.
Men are like clothes; if one doesn’t fit, you find another.”
“There are plenty of handsome men out there.
If this outfit doesn’t suit you, then just change it.”
In the silent room, the sound from her video seemed especially loud.
“You’re going to replace me?” Leon’s voice popped up again like a ghost.
Hazel jumped, frantically waving her hands in denial.
“Of course not!
You’re my dear husband, how could I ever replace you?”
“They’re all just to pass the time.
You’re the real one.”
At the same time, she made a mental note to herself: ‘Maybe I should watch a few less of these videos.
It won’t kill me.’
