The two of them were busy until 11:30, finally loading everything onto the tricycle.
Just as they were about to drive the tricycle to the construction site, a black Maybach blocked their path.
The two looked at the luxury car, their faces showing little expression.
Just then, the car door slowly opened, and a man in a black, custom-tailored suit stepped out.
His hair was slicked back, revealing a high forehead.
He wore a pair of rimless glasses on the bridge of his nose and exuded an unapproachable air.
A Patek Philippe watch adorned his wrist, an overwhelming aura of wealth hitting them in the face.
Looking at the man, both of their expressions turned strange.
Caleb Sinclair looked at their disheveled state, his handsome brows knitting together tightly.
“He only went bankrupt three months ago, and you’re already living like this?” Caleb Sinclair demanded after looking her up and down.
“Divorce him and come back to the Sinclair Family,” Caleb Sinclair said sternly.
Hearing this, Hazel Sinclair didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
‘Now that Simon Sinclair has been found and brought back, wouldn’t my position as the fake young miss become awkward if I returned to the Sinclair Family?’
‘Besides—if I go back, how am I supposed to complete my mission as the villainess?’
‘Am I just going to give up on the reward?’
“I’m not going back.” Hazel Sinclair turned her head and pursed her lips, refusing outright.
“Get out of the way!
We need to go sell boxed lunches and make money,” Hazel Sinclair yelled at him.
Meanwhile, Leon Sterling stared intently at his brother-in-law.
He grabbed Hazel Sinclair’s wrist and said in a low voice, “Divorce me and go back with him.”
“You shouldn’t have to suffer with me.”
Upon hearing this, Caleb Sinclair, who had been scowling the whole time, looked slightly appeased.
‘At least he knows his place and isn’t stopping my sister from coming home.’
“I don’t want to!” Hazel Sinclair immediately started to act petulant.
“Back then, Dad made me leave the Sinclair Family and said I was never to set foot in the door again for the rest of my life.”
“I’m not a child of the Sinclair Family anyway.
Going back will only annoy Simon Sinclair.
I’m not going back.”
As she spoke, Hazel Sinclair grabbed the collar of Leon Sterling, who was sitting beside her, and threatened, “If you dare send me back, I’ll go jump off a building right now.”
The moment he heard she would jump off a building, all of Leon Sterling’s words of persuasion died on his lips.
He was genuinely afraid Hazel Sinclair would jump.
“Are you crazy?!”
Caleb Sinclair, however, was furious.
He yelled at her, “Dad was just saying that in a fit of anger!
He didn’t really mean for you to never come back to the Sinclair Family.”
“And now that we’re asking you to come home, you’re resorting to threatening us with your own life.”
Hazel Sinclair shouted back at him impatiently, “Whatever!
I’m just not going back.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Hazel Sinclair was crying on the inside.
‘A life of luxury and splendor…
it’s out of reach for me in this lifetime.’
‘Brother, please, try to persuade me a little more.
I’m willing to go back.’
‘I just can’t help but say the opposite of what I mean.’
Her heart was screaming, but her face remained cold as she yelled at Caleb Sinclair, “You can go back!
I’ll make something of myself!”
After yelling at him, her gaze shifted to Leon Sterling.
She pinched his waist.
“Aren’t you going to get a move on?
You don’t want to make money?”
“I do,” Leon Sterling replied.
He looked at Caleb Sinclair and said, “Brother-in-law, we’re going to go set up our stall now.”
With that, the tricycle drove past the luxurious Maybach.
Hazel Sinclair’s eyes fell upon it, her face still cold, but inside she was screaming frantically.
‘Luxury cars!
A wealthy family!
A rich brother!
A rich dad!
A rich mom!’
‘My life of luxury is slipping away from me.’
‘It hurts.
It hurts so much.’
Caleb Sinclair watched them leave, then pushed up the glasses on his nose and turned to look at the place where they lived.
It was a dilapidated old residential complex that looked like a relic from the last century.
The security and environment were the worst of the worst.
To think she had been living in such conditions for over three months…
The thought made Caleb Sinclair feel sick.
On the way to the construction site, neither of them spoke.
Hazel Sinclair was mourning her lost life of luxury, while Leon Sterling thought he was the reason she didn’t want to go back with her brother-in-law.
Each lost in their own thoughts, they got out of the vehicle when they arrived.
Neither spoke; they just quietly went about their work.
The workers who had eaten there yesterday spotted the couple and immediately came over to line up.
“It’s already 12:30.
You guys took your sweet time getting here.”
Hazel Sinclair smiled and explained, “We got held up for a while on the way.
Please don’t mind.”
The workers just chuckled and said, “I just got out of the site.
Worked an extra ten-plus minutes today.”
“Whoa, you’ve got more types of dishes today.”
They had upgraded from yesterday’s five dishes to eight.
Still more meat dishes and fewer vegetable dishes.
Once everything was set up, Leon Sterling started serving them food.
He continued to fill their lunch boxes to the brim, ensuring the workers got their fill.
Watching this, Hazel Sinclair thought about buying Leon Sterling a camera later to record all the things he did day-to-day.
‘At night, I can edit them into videos and post them from his account.’
The moment she had this idea, Hazel Sinclair immediately wiped her hands, took out her phone, and started looking up cameras online.
“What kind of camera do you like?” Hazel Sinclair leaned in and asked quietly.
Leon Sterling was wiping the counter with a clean cloth.
Hearing her, he looked over and asked, “What are you planning?”
“I’ll be a dance blogger, you’ll be a lifestyle blogger, and we’ll make money from the internet together,” Hazel Sinclair said with a grin.
“Let’s see who becomes a blogger with a million followers first.”
“Okay.” Leon Sterling had no objection.
“I’m already one step ahead of you.” Thinking about how her account already had over five thousand followers, a smug expression appeared on Hazel Sinclair’s face.
“Is that so?
That’s amazing,” Leon Sterling’s voice was calm, but there was a hint of pride in his tone.
By 1:30 in the afternoon, the workers had all finished eating, and the two of them started packing up to go home.
The thought of having to come back again in the evening made Hazel Sinclair sigh.
‘Running this stall is so tiring, but the money is pretty good.’
“If you’re tired, you can rest in the tricycle.
I can pack everything up,” Leon Sterling said, having heard her sigh.
She glanced around.
The trash, tables, and chairs all needed to be packed away.
If Leon Sterling did it all by himself, it would probably take a long time.
“Forget it, let’s do it together.” Hazel Sinclair waved her hand dismissively, then bent down, stacked the chairs, and tossed them onto the roof of the tricycle.
As the two of them bustled about, they were being watched.
Caleb Sinclair lowered his car window, his gaze falling on Hazel Sinclair in the distance, who was wearing a white shirt and light-colored jeans.
He unconsciously began toying with the watch on his wrist, his face grim, unable to say a word.
“Miss Sinclair’s hands were made for playing the piano, the violin, and dancing.
How can she be doing this kind of rough work?” the driver in the front seat watched the scene, feeling a pang of unease himself.
