Chapter 22: Cassandra’s Beast

I Only Summon Amazon Giantesses

At the mention of his order, something shifted instantly as Cassandra’s eyes ignited with a brilliant green radiance, the light blending seamlessly with her natural blue iris to form a striking, luminous cyan hue. The effects of her Super Mode took hold at once, her current height surging upward as an extra burst of growth came as a bonus from its power.

Her entire body gleamed with a beautiful, swirling light that wrapped around her transforming figure, flooding her frame with a sharp increase in base strength and agility.

When the bright glow finally dimmed, she stood revealed with brilliant cyan eyes and radiant orange hair that flowed and whipped like living flame behind her.

Her tier climbed sharply from 3.8 to 4.8 the moment her Super Mode fully activated, making her a far more formidable presence on the battlefield than she had been only moments before.

She now towered over her enemies by a considerable margin, her new height giving her an even greater advantage as a warrior built for this kind of overwhelming dominance. But that alone was not everything, as she raised both hands high above her head, and something materialized within her grip in a sudden, blinding flash of light.

Cassandra now wielded an enormous, double sided war hammer, one side flattened and broad, the other tapering into a long, deadly spike, with a rounded pommel capping the end of its massive shaft. The weapon was built on a scale to match a giant, radiating an aura thick with brutish, deadly menace.

This was her signature weapon, passed down through the ancient traditions of the Amazon Order.

Mark closed his eyes briefly, and a glowing stone tablet appeared before him, displaying fresh information:

[The Amazon Warhammer: a weapon that has slain millions of enemies across countless battles throughout history, blessed personally by the queen and forged by the most renowned alchemist using the most durable metal known to the world.

It weighs 2200 pounds and measures 18.5 feet in length, a size properly suited for a giant sized wielder, yet it carries the gift of the weightless blessing, allowing it to be handled effortlessly by its rightful wielder regardless of any difference in size, bulk, or mass.]

Mark realized, somewhat sheepishly, that he had guessed completely wrong about her weapon, having assumed all along that it would turn out to be some kind of lance. He could not have been more mistaken.

He opened his eyes, which briefly glowed like torchlight the instant he sensed danger closing in. He swiftly sidestepped, narrowly evading a brutal strike from an orc’s cudgel, before retaliating with a sharp elbow strike that cracked cleanly into its waist bone.

Cassandra swung her weapon in a wide arc that tore through the air with visible ripples of space and time distortion spreading across the cavern, the sheer force bursting the head of the orc that had dared to attack her master into scattered chunks of flesh.

She then turned, lifting the hammer high overhead before slamming it downward with tremendous force, shattering the floor in an explosive burst that shook the entire chamber as stalactites rained down from above like a violent storm.

She spun the long shaft of the war hammer like a rotating blade, deflecting the falling stalactites into shredded fragments, shielding both herself and Mark from harm. Many of the surrounding orcs were not so fortunate, cut down as the storm of falling stone pierced deep through their heads and chests.

Mark activated Symbiosis, drawing on half of Cassandra’s base strength for himself. His muscles thickened with raw, borrowed power, his bones grew visibly denser, and his movements sharpened into something far quicker as he drove a heavy blow into an attacking orc, staggering it backward, only for a follow up front kick to send it crashing violently into its companions.

Mark might have looked small and insignificant compared to his towering opponents, but fueled by the combined power of Echo and Symbiosis, surging through him with immense energy and strength, he fought like a living fortress that refused to fall.

Cassandra plowed straight into the ranks of the orcs, viciously swinging her war hammer and brutalizing dozens of them at once with each devastating strike.

She lifted the weapon high overhead before bringing it down hard, the resulting shockwave blasting every orc within her radius outward in a violent wave.

The largest of them all appeared beside her, swinging a spiked cudgel aimed straight at her, but she evaded with surprising agility, twisting her torso and swinging her arms back before unleashing a forceful blow with the spiked side of the war hammer, eviscerating half its body instantly as blood erupted like a fountain from the remaining stump, which collapsed to the ground with a heavy, wet thud.

Each swing of her weapon tore through the battlefield like a raging hurricane, destroying dozens of enemies in its wake. Despite the war hammer’s enormous weight and mass relative to her own body, it still moved as though it weighed almost nothing under her grip, thanks entirely to the weightless blessing woven into it.

After a full minute of relentless slaughter, the entire chamber lay filled with the disfigured, sprawled corpses of red skinned orcs, each one resting in a spreading pool of its own blood. The air grew thick with the heavy, metallic stench of violence as an unsettling silence finally settled over the place.

Cassandra scanned the surrounding area carefully before allowing her weapon to dissolve into scattering sparks of light. Mark moved to stand beside her, his gaze fixed deep into the tunnel corridor ahead, and together they continued forward.

They encountered no further signs of danger along the way, soon arriving at the entrance of a vast, rectangular chamber, its construction far more refined and deliberate than the jagged, natural walls of the cavern behind them, adorned with carefully worked materials that spoke of purpose and design.

Mark’s eyes gleamed the moment they landed on the far end of the chamber, where a marble altar stood within a spacious sanctuary, and beside it waited the most terrifying orc he had ever laid eyes on. Its muscular frame was covered in tribal markings that ran across obsidian skin like dark, jagged stripes.

Four twisted horns jutted skyward from its head, and the foreboding glow of its crimson eyes sent a cold, creeping chill down the spine of anyone unfortunate enough to meet its gaze directly.

It wore a jagged black mask fitted with horns of its own across its face, the eye sockets hollow and empty, revealing nothing but darkness within. This was the Blood Orc Chieftain, seemingly deep in the middle of some dark ritual atop the altar, spilling blood across its surface from a goblet held firmly in its grip.

Then it paused abruptly, as though sensing a new presence entering its domain, and turned to glance back toward the entrance. Its expression remained unreadable beneath the mask, but a moment later the Blood Orc Chieftain let out a ferocious, bone rattling roar.

At that command, four Lieutenant Orcs standing guard at the entrance of the sanctuary surged forward at once. Each carried a different weapon, and one of them leapt high into the air with a battle axe raised above its head, ready to strike.

Cassandra moved instantly to stand in front of Mark, crossing her arms as her vambraces gleamed with a faint runic light just as the heavy blow landed.

The impact was absorbed entirely within the glowing runic symbols, which flared bright before erupting with a multiplied reflective force, slamming the attacking orc back into one of its companions and sending both crashing down together from the sheer momentum.

The floor shattered apart beneath the force of the collision, the blast pushing Mark backward as Cassandra lunged forward to meet the remaining attackers before they could close the distance further. She raised one leg, feet held straight, and spun it in a clean, sweeping circle that sliced cleanly through the neck of a lieutenant orc wielding a long lance, its severed head then crushed instantly beneath her stomping foot.

She wasted no time before moving again, gliding like a phantom despite her considerable size, delivering a crushing blow with her vambraces that shattered the jaw of another orc wielding a chained flail.

She followed with a powerful kick that sent it staggering and collapsing to the floor, where she finished it off by crushing its skull beneath her heel with brutal, decisive force.

Mark had already begun moving to help, but she was simply too fast for him to keep pace. Cassandra met the two remaining lieutenant orcs head on, driving her foot forward to strike the chest of one, caving it inward and forcing it to drop its halberd, while the other closed in beside her, crimson eyes burning fiercely as it swung a gleaming longsword toward her.

Twisting her torso at an unnatural angle, she barely avoided the sharp slash of the blade, shifting her balance onto her other leg before using it to deliver a spinning strike that knocked the longsword clean out of the orc’s grip.

She seized both of its shoulders for leverage and drove a knee straight into its jaw, shattering it instantly, before finishing with a heavy headbutt that cracked its skull apart.

Watching this unfold, the Blood Orc Chieftain spilled even more blood across the altar, its tribal markings flaring bright with a crimson hue as its body grew rapidly larger, the resulting stomp cracking the stone floor beneath it.

As it raised both hands, tiny orbs of condensed blood shot forward with the speed and force of bullets.

Cassandra attempted to dodge, but her reaction time proved slightly slower given her increased size, a rare disadvantage in this particular moment.

Several of the orbs struck her shoulders and body in rapid succession, tearing through flesh and leaving deep, piercing wounds that forced her down onto one knee beneath the sudden, growing pain.

More of the blood orbs struck Mark squarely in the chest, throwing him backward onto the ground, his head striking the stone floor with a sharp, painful crack.

It seemed the chieftain had mastered some manner of blood magic, capable of shaping its own fluid into solid, weaponized projectiles through sheer, concentrated pressure.

Just then, beautiful silver and gold scales began to materialize across Cassandra’s body, black curved horns sprouting from her temples as sharp claws extended from her fingers. Her eyes blazed with radiant cyan light that quickly engulfed her entire form.

A powerful aura burst outward from her body, thickening the air throughout the chamber, and as the light slowly faded, an entirely different creature stood in her place.

It possessed a sleek, hard scaled body, long digitigrade legs ending in three sharp toes, and arms with four clawed fingers apiece. Its head was slender and elegant, framed by long, radiant hair that spilled down over its shoulders and chest.

Its narrow, cyan slitted eyes contracted sharply as dozens of blood orbs streaked toward her, clearly marking her as their primary target. But lightning crackled suddenly around her transformed body, and for one brief instant the world seemed to slow, giving her just enough time to register the incoming danger and react.

Moving swiftly out of the attack’s path, she surged forward with sharp, deadly precision, fully embracing the advantage granted by her new form.

Mark’s eyes widened in stunned surprise. This was the Bestial transformation tied to her Super Mode. He suddenly remembered the mural etched into the wall, the image of a woman wrapped tightly by the coils of some colossal, ancient beast around her massive figure.

It made perfect sense now. She had fused with that very same mystical creature through some form of ancient totemic bond, one that allowed her to fully take on its shape and power in battle. She was blessed with a bestial bloodline fusion that granted her such an ability, making her a unique amazon.

But the cost of this transformation, however, was steep, draining his own mana reserves at an alarming rate, like some ravenous creature feeding without restraint, a fact that did not bode particularly well for him.

Cassandra blitzed toward the sanctuary just as the Blood Orc Chieftain gathered countless tiny orbs of blood into one massive, condensed sphere above its head before hurling it forward with tremendous force. The attack struck true against its intended target with a violent, bloody rupture, but by then, no one remained standing there at all.

Trailing streaks of crackling lightning in her wake, Cassandra moved through her bestial form like a deft, coiling serpent, her claws poised in a sweeping slashing motion as she appeared within the sanctuary in the blink of an eye.

Electricity crackled and danced between her extended claws as she swung them in a wide, sweeping arc across the chest of the Blood Orc Chieftain, carving a deep gash into its flesh.

The Blood Orc Chieftain roared in violent fury and unleashed a heavy blow that connected squarely with her head, sending her flying backward like a discarded ragdoll.

Blood quickly gathered around its fresh wounds, forming crude, vague scars that began knitting themselves back together almost immediately.

Cassandra shook her head sharply, working through the pain, before surging forward once more, lightning gathering steadily around the claws of her clenched fist.

The Orc Chieftain simply clenched its own hand in response, and a solid wall of blood rose up to shield it, forming a thick, protective barrier. Still, the barrier weakened rapidly beneath the relentless assault of her lightning, which slowly pierced straight through it.

The hollow eyes of the orc billowed with blood red light as it launched a heavy punch that met Cassandra’s own fist head on, her knuckles still charged with crackling electricity. The powerful collision sent an earth shaking shockwave rippling outward, shattering the stone floor across several meters in every direction.

Lightning crawled steadily from her arm into the body of the Orc Chieftain, paralyzing it in place as the current spread rapidly across its entire frame like a battery charging well past its limit. With that advantage secured,

Cassandra brought her other hand forward and seized its face, delivering a heavy, sustained electrocution that burned its features down to little more than melted, ruined flesh.
