After changing her clothes, Jiang Yi emerged from the master bedroom.

She passed a gym with floor-to-ceiling glass doors and arrived at the dining room not far away.

Though Jiang Yi had lived a life of luxury from a young age and wasn’t unfamiliar with the finer things, she was still stunned by the opulent decor of this apartment.Full novel: I Regret Marrying My Nemesis’ Uncle! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Wen Suihan was already sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

Jiang Yi paused in her steps, puzzled, “Why is he here?”

Wen Suihan seemed to feel her gaze, turned his head to look at her with a distant expression, “Why are you standing there?

Come over for breakfast.”

Jiang Yi felt a bit awkward, recalling fragments of the previous night’s drunken events that were slowly piecing together in her mind.

She didn’t remember much, only that she seemed to have thrown a fit because she didn’t get to eat the Crab Yellow Pastry, then she ran into ‘Xiao Han’ with an umbrella, and she couldn’t recall anything after that.

To ease the embarrassment, Jiang Yi walked over to the opposite side of the dining table and made small talk, “Um, your house is nicely decorated, very tasteful…”

“You’re thinking too much; it’s the company’s property.”

“Oh…” Jiang Yi felt somewhat abashed.

Wen Suihan looked at her coldly and said, “After breakfast, I will arrange for someone to take you home, and I will keep my promise not to tell the Elder Chief about last night, but you have to figure out for yourself how to deal with your absence all night.”

Jiang Yi was somewhat bewildered.

It was clear that Wen Suihan had no intention of engaging in further conversation with her.

Jiang Yi could only smile and take a seat at the dining table.

Looking at the breakfast on the table, she was surprised to find a box of crab roe pastries.

Picking up a Crab Yellow Pastry, Jiang Yi asked cautiously, “I can’t handle my liquor well, did I…

did I do anything improper last night?”

Wen Suihan paused in his coffee-drinking, finally willing to look up at her.

Without saying anything, he downed his coffee, put down his napkin, and left the table.

Jiang Yi had a sinking feeling that whatever she did the previous night definitively wasn’t something trivial.

She had no appetite for breakfast anymore.

Wen Suihan had also changed his clothes and was waiting for her to leave.

Seeing the housekeeper still pouring milk for her, Jiang Yi hurriedly stopped her, “Thank you, but I’m full.”

As she stood up from the table, she approached Wen Suihan and said, “Uncle Xiao Han, I really appreciate your help once again.

I don’t know how to thank you enough.

You don’t have to take me; I can just call a taxi.”

“Don’t call me uncle,” Wen Suihan’s expression turned even darker.

Jiang Yi couldn’t understand why this prominent figure was annoyed with her; his demeanor was off from the morning.

She tried again with a bright smile, “Right, you’re not much older than me, so from now on, should I call you Brother Xiao Han?”

He disregarded Jiang Yi and went out the door by himself.

Jiang Yi didn’t forget to wave goodbye to the housekeeper behind her.

The housekeeper, who quite liked Jiang Yi’s personality, cheerfully saw her to the door.

After watching the two get into the car, the housekeeper ran back to the living room, picked up her phone, and made a call.

Speaking into the phone, she said, “Madam, I have good news for you…

Young Director Wen brought a woman home last night…

Yes, that’s right…

Of course it’s true, the lady was very beautiful, and she was even wearing Young Director Wen’s shirt…

Those two young people must have stayed up all night without much sleep; I noticed that even this morning Young Director Wen still had dark circles under his eyes…”
