Chapter 3 - 2 : The Superior Bloodline

I Reincarnated as the Oldest Son of a Noble Family

The soldiers whose duties Robert had ended pleaded with Noah.

One of them said:

"Young Lord, we ask you to accept us under your command again. This humble servant will try to perform his duties without negligence at the cost of his life if the matter requires it."

Noah replied with a cold look on his face:

"Enough... By the way, tell me, what happened to my former servants?"

The soldiers exchanged strange looks.

"Whom do you mean, my lord?"

"Is it not obvious? Those who falsely testified against me earlier," Noah replied with a cold look.

"To the best of this humble soldier’s knowledge, they are still languishing in prison," one of the soldiers answered while kneeling before Noah.

Finding capable servants was complicated, but Noah could not keep people who had neglected their simplest duties and then tried to save themselves by fabricating an accusation against him.

He thought for a short while about the appropriate way to deal with them, then decided to place the burden of the choice on the soldiers kneeling before him.

"In your opinion, what is the appropriate punishment for them?"

Everyone remained silent.

"If they had remained committed to being my servants and performed their duties to the fullest, I would have shown some mercy, but..."

He looked at them one after another.

"To accuse a person from the Superior Bloodline of lying and impersonation... is a matter deserving of death!"

Noah keep the matter reality to himself

Not a single one of them had fulfilled their duty to the body’s original owner. Their negligence had gone so far that a noble child had been forced to prepare his own tea, even though he did not know how to prepare it properly.

That was not an action that could be accepted from servants assigned to care for a member of the Superior Bloodline.

The soldiers understood the answer he wanted. It appeared on their pale faces, but they refused to speak so that they would not bear responsibility for the decision.

Noah did not back down.

"What should I do? Should I punish those who never served me, or should I punish those who swore to serve me and then remained silent when I asked for their opinion?"

One of the soldiers answered after hesitating:

"The head of the family has not yet made his decision regarding them."

Noah nodded.

"Fine, then this is your answer. Give me your sword. I will go on a journey."

In the depths of Lupton Prison, ten servants had been thrown into a dark corner.

The soldiers gave him a short dagger that suited the size of his body before accompanying him there.

Noah walked back and forth through the corridor while moving the dagger between his fingers. An entire life as a member of the Superior Bloodline lay before him in a world ruled by status and laws that he had not yet fully understood.

He had to enjoy every moment he would live.

And what would he do with the authority that had come into his hands?

The soldiers watched him silently, while the imprisoned servants looked at him from behind the bars with tearful eyes, hoping that he would pardon them.

Suddenly, one of the maids shouted:

"Young Lord, did I not teach you how to prepare tea?"

Noah stopped, he had not absorbed all of his memories, concluding that she was lying was simple. If they truly taught him, the tea he prepared in his room would not have been that bad.

The maid thought that his stopping meant that he had remembered her and had been affected by her words. When the others saw his reaction, they also began shouting.

"I was the one who prepared the pillow before sleep!"

"Young Lord, I was the one who brought your breakfast!"

Noah moved his wrist, and the dagger swung in his hand like a fish that had exhausted its strength. Despite the difficulty of controlling it using a child’s body, its tip remained sharp.

Noah stared at the blade and asked himself the question again.

"How did I want to live?"

In the next moment, his grip tightened around the handle, and the weight of the dagger shifted into his palm. He turned toward the soldiers and issued his first order to them since his status had been recognized.

His gaze changed into unprecedented firmness before he ordered:

"Open the cell door, then throw the prisoners to the ground. Prevent them from resisting."

The soldiers had not moved yet.

"Are you fools? These people betrayed the authority of the Higher Blood. Are you their accomplices?"

They remained silent.

They understood the meaning of his words. He was warning them that refusing his orders might make them his next targets.

Noah raised the dagger.

One of the soldiers bowed.

"Yes, my lord."

Noah did not exclude anyone.

The soldiers opened the cell doors and threw the servants to the ground, then held their bodies down so that they could not resist. Pieces of their clothes were torn off and used to close their mouths. After that, each one of them was forced to move their head backward until their neck was exposed.

The dagger entered the necks and then came out of them.

Noah did not distinguish between man and woman, nor between young and old. He did not leave any of them alive.

A feeling of guilt appeared inside him after he killed a human being for the first time, but it faded beneath the soldiers’ gazes. They watched him as though what he was doing was something natural that needed no justification.

He was a member of the Superior Bloodline punishing servants who had betrayed their duty.

As long as he was a noble, no one would demand that he justify killing them.

The jailer appeared in the depths of the prison and began dragging the bodies out of the cells with an expressionless face, as though what had happened were an ordinary part of his work.

Noah watched him silently.

Through the reactions of the jailer and the soldiers, he began to understand the reality of the status he had obtained.

On the same night, Robert summoned him.

He was waiting for him inside his office, and cold sweat had appeared on his forehead. He tightened his jaw and clenched his teeth, then asked him seriously:

"What are you, really? Are you... a demon?"

Noah did not answer immediately.

During their first meeting, Robert surprised him with his ability to notice the change in his son. But now, he surprised him with his serious belief that an ancient demon had taken possession of the child’s body.

His words were not an insult or an expression of anger.

He truly believed that Noah was a demon.

Therefore, Noah gave him a clear answer.

"I am a noble from the Superior Bloodline."

Robert said:

"What if you are a demon?"

Noah smiled.

"Can a demon belong to the Superior Bloodline?"

Robert remained silent.

The question carried two senses. If blood color was what determined belonging to the Superior Bloodline, then what importance did Noah’s truth have after his blood had proven his status? and if a demon could possess the blood of a noble, what distinguished demons from them?

Robert seemed to have doubts toward the lives of nobles ,the anger disappeared from his face, and bitter regret took its place.

He said in a low voice:

"Yes, you are right. But if you truly are a demon, then my ability to hide from your eye makes me a noble in the eyes of the nobles, does it not?"

Noah asked him:

"What will you do now?"

"That is what I want to ask you. What do you want?"

Noah thought for a moment.

"I do not know yet."

He had not decided what he wanted to achieve, but he knew what he needed in order to guarantee his place in this world.

"I want to live as a noble."

Robert watched his smile without speaking.

Noah continued:

"In return, I will fulfill one wish for you."

There was no need to tell him the complete truth, for his transmigration from Earth was complicated, or Robert might not even believe him.

As long as Robert believed that he was a demon, then let him place that in his belief.

Since he was a demon, let him promise Robert a promise that might not come true.
