"They are merely foolish rumors spread to tarnish the reputation of nobles."
From what Noah understood from the teacher’s words, it seemed that he had transmigrated to a world ruled by magic. Among millions of humans, only members of the Superior Bloodline possessed that ability, and Noah was one of them.
A cold smile appeared on Noah’s face before he stood in front of Robert beneath House Lupton’s crest.
"Magic is the source of your authority as a member of the Superior Bloodline. The ability to use it means that you no longer need the influence of others."
Noah quietly listened to Robert’s words.
"Now, this moment will determine whether you will be satisfied with possessing my son’s body or whether you will gain recognition of your identity as a true noble."
Then, what kind of magic would he use? He asked himself the question and focused his mana.
A sudden heat rose in his head, and his vision blurred under a brief wave of dizziness. When he regained his focus, he found the result he wanted.
A smooth, sharp ice crystal that gave off cold air rested between his hands.
Noah’s eyes widened, but Robert did not show the same admiration. He merely gave a heavy grunt, staring at the ice as though something occupied his thoughts.
He closed and opened his eyes several times before muttering in a gloomy voice:
"Frost..."
"Is it a bad ability?"
"I had held on to some hope. My son’s talent was flame. I did not expect your ability to be different even though you carry the same blood and body."
"I understand."
Robert’s gaze was complicated, with many emotions mixed within it.
He was the same father who had not given his son a name. Noah thought that the absence of love alone was the reason, but his reaction now was clearly that of a disappointed man.
Noah remained silent for a while, and after several minutes, Robert regained his usual firmness. The last traces of emotion disappeared from his eyes, and his gaze became sharp again.
"As long as you are not my son, there is no need to worry about you."
"Does this have something to do with the condition of our deal?"
"Yes. I will present my request to you when you become a noble with true power."
"But you said a moment ago that the ability to use magic makes me a noble."
"Magic only grants you the qualification. Do you intend to become a clown? Was your desire not to live the life of a noble?"
"A clown who uses magic... I admit that the idea is interesting. But it is worth nothing compared to my current life as a noble."
On the day Noah used magic for the first time, he went directly to the kitchen and did not hesitate to test his ability.
One of the servants said while carrying a huge container:
"Th-this is the water you ordered, Young Lord. I filled the largest container I found in the kitchen."
"Well done. You must be tired. Sit beside me and watch. This will be enough for you to boast about to your family for a while."
The kitchen staff were nervous because of Noah’s sudden appearance, but their eyes widened when they saw the magic.
The the heat was so suffocating that the air itself seemed to be burning Amid the heat, blue threads of light slipped into the lukewarm water and twisted around the sides of the container before transparent crystals formed around them.
The change happened fast and every time someone blinked, the crystals had grown larger.
He succeeded on his first attempt.
Noah created ice crystals in the necessary places.
The temperature of the water dropped until a pieces of ice began floating one after another on the surface, moving the water around them.
One of the servants asked:
"Young Lord ,this is...?"
"When I thought about the work inside the kitchen and how much you sweat because of its heat, I felt pity for you"
"Definitely ! We are extremely grateful for your mercy, Young Lord!"
Another said:
"Using magic for people like us..."
This simple gesture caused a commotion throughout the kitchen. In front of Noah, the differences between their positions disappeared, and each of them brought a cup to take his share of the ice. Different reactions appeared on their faces; some smiled happily, while others seemed unable to express their gratitude.
They were merely pieces of ice, yet they had left such an effect on them. Noah wondered what an experienced magician could do if simple magic like this had amazed them.
Even so, it seemed that servants receiving something a noble had made with his magic was rare, so many of them hesitated to reach out for it.
Noah waited for them quietly.
