AURORA’S POV

I stormed out of the palace, with my heels clicking against the stone floor as I walked, each step fueled by the rage burning inside me.

The night air was cold against my skin, but I barely felt it because the fire in my chest was too hot to be cooled by something as simple as the wind.Full novel: I Slept With My Twin Sister’s Alpha Mate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

I could still see Zane’s face in my mind, looking so cold and distant, and looking at me like I was nothing more than an inconvenience.

He had barely looked at me, barely touched me, and when I had tried to get close to him, he had pulled away like I was something disgusting.

I clenched my fists and whispered to myself, in a trembling voice filled with fury.

“He will regret this.

He will regret treating me like I am nothing.

I am not nothing.

I am going to be Luna.

And when I am, he will see exactly what he lost.”

I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found Derek’s name.

He was the wolf I had sent to watch Mira’s house, the one who had seen Zane leaving.

He was loyal to me and always did what I asked without asking too many questions.

He answered on the second ring, his voice sounding so low and respectful.

“Aurora?

What do you need?”

“I need you to do something for me,” I said, with a sharp and commanding voice.

“I need you to investigate Aria’s movements from the past month.

I want to know everywhere she has been and everyone she has seen.

I want to know who she has been talking to and who she has been meeting with.

I want to know everything.”

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Derek spoke again, his voice careful.

“Why?

What has she done?”

I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down, and whispered, “I found something in her room.

A pregnancy test.

It was positive.

And I need to know who the father is.”

Derek let out a low whistle, and asked in disbelief.

“Aria?

Pregnant?

I did not see that coming.”

“Neither did I,” I said coldly.

“But I will find out the truth.

And when I do, I will destroy her.”

“Okay, consider it done,” Derek said.

“I will start digging tonight.”

I felt a wave of satisfaction wash over me, and I smiled.

“Good.

Keep me updated.

And Derek, do not tell anyone about this.

Not a single soul.”

“You have my word,” he said.

I ended the call and walked toward the edge of the pack territory, my mind already racing with plans.

I had to be careful.

I had to be patient.

I could not let my emotions get the better of me.

But I also could not let Aria get away with this.

She had been hiding from me, sneaking around behind my back, and now she was going to pay.

I pulled out my phone again and called my mother.

She answered quickly, her voice sounding bright and curious.

“Aurora?

Where are you?

I thought you were at the palace.”

There was a pause, and then my mother’s voice turned happy and excited.

“Are you spending the night with the Alpha Prince?

Oh, Aurora, that is wonderful!

This is exactly what we need—”

“No, Mother,” I cut her off, briskly.

“I am going to meet a friend.”

The happiness in her voice vanished instantly, and it was replaced by something sharp and worried.

“A friend?

What friend?

Aurora, you cannot afford to make any mistakes at this delicate time.

You are about to become Luna.

You cannot be seen doing anything that might cause rumors.

What if someone sees you?”

I felt a flicker of irritation run through me, and clenched my jaw.

“Do you not trust me, Mother?”

She stammered, her voice sounding flustered now.

“Of course I trust you, but this is a very important time and—”

“I will handle it,” I said, cutting her off.

“Do not worry.”

And then I ended the call before she could say another word.

I did not have time for her doubts and her worries.

I knew what I was doing.

I always knew what I was doing.

I made my way through the dark streets until I reached Trevor’s house.

Aria’s ex boyfriend, and my secret love, which was a small cottage on the outskirts of the pack territory.

It was modest and unassuming, the kind of place that no one would look at twice.

That was why I liked it.

It was private.

It was safe.

I looked left and right before approaching the door, making sure no one had followed me.

When I was certain the coast was clear, I stepped forward.

Before I could knock, the door swung open and Trevor pulled me inside, his strong arms wrapping around me and pressing me against the door.

He kissed me fiercely, his lips hungry and demanding, and I melted into him.

His hands roamed my body, and I let out a soft moan against his mouth.

“I have missed you,” he whispered, his voice low and rough.

“I have been going crazy without you.”

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer.

Then I whispered in between kisses.

“I have missed you too.”

He pulled back just enough to look at me, his eyes searching mine, and pouted.

“But now you are about to be Alpha Princess.

What are we going to do?

I am not breaking up with you, Aurora.

I do not care who you are engaged to.”

I laughed softly and ran my fingers through his hair.

“Do not worry about that.

I will handle everything.

You just focus on me.”

He kissed me again, deeper this time, and I let myself get lost in him.

He lifted me into his arms and carried me to the bedroom, laying me down on the bed with a gentleness that was so unlike the fire in his eyes.

This his hands moved over my body, slow and deliberate, and I arched into his touch, and moaned softly.

“You are so beautiful,” he murmured against my skin, as his lips trailed down my neck.

“The most beautiful woman I have ever seen.”

I pulled him closer, my fingers tangling in his hair, and moaned in his mouth. This chapter is updated first at novelpin‌g.com.

“I want you, Trevor.

I need you.”

He undressed me slowly, pressing soft kisses to every inch of exposed skin, and I shivered under his touch.

His hands were warm and sure, and I felt my body respond to him in ways it never responded to anyone else.

Then he moved over me, his lips finding mine again, and I lost myself totally in him.

Our bodies moved together in perfect rhythm, a dance of passion and desire that consumed us both.

He whispered my name like a prayer, and I clung to him, letting myself forget about Zane and the pack and everything else.

There was only him and the fire burning between us.

When it was over, we lay tangled together in our nakedness, breathless and satisfied.

I rested my head on his chest, my fingers tracing lazy patterns on his skin.

The silence between us was comfortable, but my mind was still churning with thoughts of Aria.

I looked up at him and asked, in a soft but sharp voice.

“Trevor, are you sure you have never touched my sister?”

He let out a low laugh and shook his head.

“Aria?

Absolutely not.

She is way too plain and boring for my taste.

I would never touch her.”

I smiled, satisfied with his answer.

“Good.

Because I would hate to have to destroy you too.”

Then he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer.

“So, tell me more about this plan of yours.

What are you going to do to her?”

I let out a soft laugh, my eyes gleaming with cold satisfaction, and lowered my voice into a whisper.

“I am going to destroy her completely.

She thinks she can hide from me, but I will find out everything.

I will expose her pregnancy to the pack, and I will make sure everyone sees her as the disgrace she is.

She will never be able to show her face in this pack again.

She will be shamed and humiliated, and no one will ever look at her the same way.”

Trevor was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, “What if she tries to fight back?

What if she tells people you are lying?”

I laughed mockingly, and asked, “Fight back?

Who?

Aria?

She is too weak to fight back.

She has always been weak.

She has always been pathetic.

And she will always be pathetic.

She does not have the strength to stand up to me.

Even if she tries, no one will believe her.

Everyone knows I am the favored daughter.

Everyone knows she is nothing but a shadow.

I will take everything from her, her reputation, her dignity, her future.

And she will be left with nothing.”

Trevor nodded, with a smirk playing on his lips, and said, “I like the way you think.”

I smiled and settled back against his chest, my mind already racing with plans.

Aria had no idea what was coming for her.

But as I lay there, a thought crept into my mind, cold and unsettling.

What if she was not as weak as I thought?

What if she had been hiding something all this time?

What if she had been playing me?

I pushed the thought away and closed my eyes, but it lingered at the edge of my mind like a shadow.

Aria had always been quiet and invisible, but maybe that was exactly what she wanted me to believe.

Maybe there was more to her than I had ever realized.

And for the first time, I felt a flicker of doubt.
