One afternoon in the shopping district.

Urara Usami fidgeted nervously before finally speaking to Takuma.

"Hey, Kunimi-kun... wanna go to the summer festival with me?"Full novel: I Think I’m Unpopular, But Every Girl Around Me Disagrees — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Summer festival? ...Oh, the one with all the food stalls?"

"Yeah! ♡ Takoyaki, yakisoba, stuff like that..."

"...I'm in."

"W-WHAT?! That was fast! You didn't even think about it!"

"The food at those stalls is good. And it's cooler at night."

(...Wait. Did that actually work? I successfully asked him out? Yay! ♡)

Unfortunately— the other heroines hadn't missed a word of their conversation.

"...What? A summer festival? Kunimi's going? With WHO?"

"Whoa, hold up... Isn't Urara totally trying to get a head start on us?"

"Oho! Sounds fun. Then I'm coming too!"

"Observing my subject's behavior at a festival... fascinating."

Before anyone knew it, every single one of them had announced that they were coming.

And then— the day of the summer festival arrived.

The heroines appeared together in yukata.

Mikiko wore a pale blue one decorated with morning glories.

Shiori's was black with a floral pattern, giving her a slightly more mature look.

Urara wore pink with an adorable goldfish pattern.

And Shion wore a calm, elegant shade of purple.

Standing together in their colorful yukata, they created a sight more spectacular than the fireworks themselves.

And right in the middle of them—

Takuma was wearing an ordinary polo shirt and jeans.

"...Wow. You guys really went all-out with the yukata."

Mikiko glared at him.

"Don't just say 'you guys'!! Actually LOOK at us!"

Shiori stared at him in disbelief.

"Seriously... How the hell are you able to just casually ignore a sight like this?"

But Takuma's attention had already shifted toward the food stalls.

"...Yakisoba. Fried chicken. Takoyaki. Shaved ice..."

"............"

The girls fell silent.

Takuma took a huge bite.

"Mmph... This is good."

He swallowed.

"Oh, grilled squid next."

"Hey! Look over here! THE YUKATA!!"

"Seriously! What kind of guy completely ignores girls in yukata?!"

Urara smiled softly.

Karen raised a fist.

"All right! Then let's make it a competition! Let's see who can eat the most!"

Shion adjusted her glasses.

"...Confirmed. My subject prioritizes appetite above all else."

Watching from nearby, the Tachibana sisters exchanged looks.

"...I've never seen a guy surrounded by this many girls in yukata and somehow make the whole thing this unromantic."

"Yeah. Normally someone would ask him which girl looks best, and then we'd get an instant bloodbath."

"But this guy just ignores all of it."

Hina sighed.

"For him, it's literally yakisoba over yukata."

Momiji nodded solemnly.

"...The King of Obliviousness strikes again. Definitely legendary."

Eventually, both of Takuma's hands were completely full of festival food.

The girls continued trying to draw his attention to their yukata— but then Takuma suddenly spotted something.

"...Oh. Cotton candy."

He turned toward another stall.

"I'm gonna get some."

"I DON'T EVEN CARE ANYMORE!!!!"

Mr. Oblivious himself—

Takuma Kunimi.

The man capable of turning even a summer festival into nothing more than a food event.
