The town of Rombel is divided into 5 main sectors: North, South, East, West, and the Center.
The South is for the main gate entrance.
The West and East are where most commoners live.
The North is for the workers.
The Center is for the privileged people.
The sun shone above Rombel Town, and Ken was forcefully thrown into a place.
People glared at him, and the next second, they walked slowly toward him as if they were about to fight.
Meanwhile, the guards walked away.
As the guards left, they all smiled.
"Welcome to hell, newbie."
Ken furrowed his brows.
"What hell?"
They all laughed a little and stared at each other.
Then a girl in a shitty shirt and trousers — the exact same clothes as the majority of the workers — walked toward him. She stared at him for a few seconds.
"Come with me."
Ken followed her. The walls were made of light metal. And the place was so big. He looked to his left and saw beds.
Are all these people really sleeping here?
The lady glanced at him, then smiled and said,
"Since you’re a newbie, I’ll explain. You’re now a worker. We’re divided into 3 districts: one for slave workers, one for workers, and lastly for commoners. Here, everyone is obligated to work for the privileged people."
He rubbed his chin and whispered,
"The privileged... Maybe Kana is among those privileged people."
Then the woman stopped near an old woman who wore glasses.
The lady who accompanied him said,
"This is where it all begins for you."
Ken thanked her for the help. She walked away and waved her hands.
Now Ken was face to face with the old lady.
As he was about to speak, the old woman immediately wrote something on a piece of paper.
As he blinked, she did it again.
He spoke, "Impolite kid... Don’t you know respect? Do you even know how to read and write?"
He replied, "Yes."
She sneered at him.
"Do you have something or someone who can prove that you’re not illiterate?"
As he was about to talk, a worker ran into the place. His clothes smelled awful. As he arrived near the old woman, he bowed down.
"Big Ma’am, he’s a new member of the slave workers."
Ken shouted, "I’m NOT a slave!"
The old lady stared at Ken, then looked at the man bowing and smirked.
"You can go with him."
The worker slowly lifted his head, smiling in joy.
"Thank you so much."
The man put his hand on Ken’s shoulder.
"My man, I’m happy for you."
They were at the 2nd district — for the workers.
Ken and the worker walked out of the place. Outside there was a gate on the other side, made of wood.
They walked toward it. As they entered, there was absolutely nothing. A house for hundreds of people.
There were also psycho, mentally unstable people.
As Ken entered the place, everyone laughed hysterically without control. Except two people:
A man on top of the house, lying down and resting.
And a girl with black skin like his.
As he walked 5 meters away from the gate, it suddenly closed and the guards locked it twice.
Then a short man behind him spoke.
"Welcome to hell."
He smiled and showed his broken teeth.
A bell rang in the place. Everyone picked up a material — a pick or a spade — and walked like military people.
As the gate opened, Ken was also in line and asked,
"Are there gates everywhere here?"
The people directly in front of him didn’t say a word. But he heard a small voice behind him.
"Yes. But it’s almost impossible to run... You’ll work until you forget how to think."
Once they were outside the town, a lady with long black hair ordered them to start.
They commenced digging the ground. It was for irrigation. But Ken didn’t have any material to dig with.
Isn’t this the lady who helped me before?
He raised his hand, and everyone stared at him in horror.
"He doesn’t know where he is yet."
The lady, the commander of the sector, stared at him like an insect.
The next minute, he was sent to the front of everyone. He was given 20 meters of length to dig, 6 meters deep.
At that moment, the woman was beside him.
He looked at her, and Ken stared back.
Wait... She really wants me to dig this with my hands?
Then she said,
"My twin sister is so kind. That makes me feel bad. If you want a spade, I can loan you one... and put 60% interest."
Ken swallowed his saliva and forced a smile.
This world!! It’s really not for me!
He threw a strike with a pick. It only caused a little crack.
"What is this?"
He hit the ground once more. The pick made a metallic sound against the rock.
His facial expression darkened.
"Now I understand why everyone here is muscular."
He laughed a little.
There are rocks in the ground?
As the others saw his expression, they stared at each other and all smiled.
It was entertaining to see a newbie working.
Ken looked at the ground and lifted his pick with one hand. Then he breathed out slowly.
It’s not broken nor cracked.
Meanwhile, the lady was observing him. Then she folded her arms.
"SO DO YOU WANT TO STAY HERE ALL DAY? WORK FASTER!"
Ken straightened his body slowly.
Immediately, a screen popped up above his head. He lifted his head and looked up for a few seconds.
[SUB QUEST: Do the impossible in one day.
Work more than everyone.
If completed: +15 Charisma points]
He smiled as the pick was clutched in his hands.
Now it’s time to gain points and work more than everyone here!!
He hit the ground. Once, twice, the fifth, the tenth, the thirtieth time.
He was digging and moving backward across the distance they gave him.
Then he took the spade, scooped up some small stones with it, and threw them away.
After 30 minutes, he thought,
I never knew something like this would happen.

He started again even though his palms were red, and he knew his skin could peel off.
But still he continued. The lives of hundreds of people at that time were more important than his own life.
IMMEDIATELY, he raised his pick, straightened his body, and threw a slash by accident.
The pick actually dug deep into the ground.
"Yes!"
He was proud of that successful hit.
