Chapter 1: The Beginning

I Woke Up and What Do You Mean “Wishes”? Are You Saying I’m a Genie?!

After spending some time gaming on my PC, my mom stormed into my room, yelling:

"Go to sleep, Alex!"

I felt annoyed, but I complied. As soon as the match ended, I went to bed. I always listened to what my parents said, never talking back to them.

I lay down and left my phone right by my side. I set the alarm since I had class the next day and it was better to wake up early. Shortly after, I drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up, my first reflex was to check my phone, but I couldn't find it anywhere. It gave me a huge fright and I sat up, but then I noticed something was very strange. I felt smaller, and I had long, reddish hair—which was bizarre, since my hair had always been blonde. On top of that, there was a weight on my chest that hadn't been there before. I checked to be sure, and my suspicion was confirmed.

No way... I thought, desperate.

I ran my hand between my legs and, yep, it was gone.

"Please tell me this is..."

My voice came out completely different, much higher and more acute. Panicking, I pulled the blanket up and buried myself under it, trying to make things go back to how they were, but nothing I did would change reality. Damn it, is this some kind of divine punishment for gaming too late?

After a while, I built up the courage to look around. Everything had changed. This definitely wasn't my bedroom. The place had bronze walls and was filled with silk sheets, ancient instruments, and even a chess set, but there wasn't a single piece of technology in sight.

My eyes scanned the room until they found a mirror. In it, I saw the reflection of a girl wearing ancient garments, just like a genie from a lamp. She had hair as red as rubies, sapphire-blue eyes, pale skin, and a voluptuous chest. She was beautiful, but what truly terrified me was realizing that that girl was me.

Is this a dream? I pinched myself to check, but it had no effect. I tried to manifest something to see if it was a lucid dream, but nothing happened either.

While I was still trying to process the shock, a voice echoed from outside:

"Genie of the Lamp, grant my wishes!”
