“Lin Fan, my younger sister got into graduate school. Her tuition costs over 100,000 yuan a year. We should help out.”

Chen Yuanyuan sat on the sofa without even lifting her head, her gaze glued to her phone.

Beside her, Lin Fan—his face slightly haggard—suddenly woke with a jolt. He stared at the familiar surroundings, confusion surging through him like a tide. “Wasn’t I at the hospital with my father? How did I suddenly end up here?”Full novel: I Won the Lottery, and Now You Regret It — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He turned his head and froze. The person sitting next to him was his wife, Chen Yuanyuan.

But something felt off… she looked younger.

Then her words from just now echoed in his mind, and realization struck him like lightning.

I… I’ve been reborn?!

Back to five years ago!

Lin Fan hurriedly took out his phone. The date displayed on the screen read June 19, 2017. His breathing quickened, and excitement flickered uncontrollably across his face.

He really had been reborn.

In his previous life, Lin Fan’s days had been anything but happy—if anything, they were miserable. And all of it had been brought upon him by Chen Yuanyuan’s family.

Back then, Lin Fan and his parents had given everything wholeheartedly. Every month, he handed over his entire salary without holding back. Meanwhile, his parents had even used their retirement savings to help cover the mortgage.

Yet after marriage, Chen Yuanyuan hadn’t worked a single day. She spent her time going out for tea with friends, shopping, or staying home binge-watching dramas and scrolling through short videos.

Her family was even worse.

Her father drank excessively all day and loafed around without doing anything productive. Her mother was addicted to gambling, spending her days lingering in mahjong parlors.

All these years, it had been Chen Yuanyuan using the money Lin Fan earned through hard work to support them. Without that money, her entire family would probably have starved long ago.

And her younger sister, Chen Lili, was a vain and materialistic woman with impossibly high standards.

After graduating from university, she refused to take a perfectly good job. Instead, she obsessed over meeting rich and handsome men, hoping to latch onto wealth.

At some point, she had heard that getting into an MBA program would help her meet wealthy people, since most students there were rich executives or business owners. So she worked hard to get into graduate school.

However, MBA tuition was far beyond what an ordinary family could afford. Just one year’s tuition alone cost well over 100,000 yuan, something Chen Lili’s family simply couldn’t handle.

And so, they turned their attention back to Lin Fan.

But what had all their sincerity earned them in return?

Not long before his rebirth, Lin Fan’s father had fallen seriously ill with kidney disease and urgently needed money for treatment.

Yet at that critical moment, Chen Yuanyuan refused to contribute a single cent. Worse still, she cursed his father as a burden, saying it would be better if he died sooner.

After seeing her true face, Lin Fan had broken down in tears at his father’s bedside. Regret gnawed at him relentlessly—how had he not realized sooner that his wife was such a cold-hearted, vicious woman?

Crying until he had no strength left, he eventually fell asleep beside the hospital bed.

When he woke again, he found himself back five years in the past.

Now that he had been given a second chance and had seen Chen Yuanyuan’s true nature, there was no way Lin Fan would let himself be manipulated again.

This time, he would make her entire family pay the price.

He would take back everything that originally belonged to him.

Want to suck his blood again? Keep dreaming!

…

“I’m talking to you. Did you even hear what I said?”

Seeing that Lin Fan hadn’t responded, Chen Yuanyuan’s voice turned impatient.

Lin Fan snapped out of his thoughts and replied coldly, “You know our situation. How exactly are we supposed to help her?”

“Just have your parents sell their house. That way, we’ll have money,” Chen Yuanyuan said as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

A cold sneer flashed across Lin Fan’s heart. So it’s exactly like before.

In his previous life, they had argued fiercely over this very issue. In the end, his parents, unwilling to see the young couple fall apart, had been forced to sell their house.

At the time, it was agreed that the money was only borrowed. But the Chen family later denied it outright, which left Lin Fan’s father without funds for treatment when he fell ill.

Now that he had another chance, Lin Fan would never allow that tragedy to repeat.

“Then how about this—let’s sell our house instead,” Lin Fan said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Chen Yuanyuan froze. “Lin Fan, have you lost your mind? If we sell our house, where are we supposed to live?”

Lin Fan shot back immediately, “Then if my parents sell their house, where are they supposed to live?”

“Aren’t there still your family’s old house back in your hometown? They can just live there,” Chen Yuanyuan replied indifferently.

“That old house has been empty for over a decade. It’s practically abandoned. How do you expect them to live there?”

“They worked hard their entire lives to finally gain a foothold in the city. And now, just for your sister’s education, you want them to go back to that kind of life?”

Chen Yuanyuan frowned. “Lin Fan, we’re married. My sister is your sister too. Now that she needs money for her studies, what’s wrong with your parents helping a little?”

“Besides, she’s studying for an MBA. She’ll definitely become successful in the future. Once she makes big money, she can just pay them back…”

Lin Fan suddenly laughed. “Haha, an MBA from some no-name school counts as graduate education? Isn’t that basically something you can get just by paying?”

“More importantly, if she needs money, why don’t you have your parents sell their house to support her?”

“Lin Fan! If my parents sell their house, where are they supposed to live?”

“They worked so hard to raise us sisters. Do you expect them to end up sleeping on the streets?”

Lin Fan sneered inwardly. This was exactly the kind of person she was—completely double standard, selfish to the extreme.

“Chen Yuanyuan, calling you heartless would be giving you too much credit. You’re a black-hearted woman—a blood-sucking parasite!”

“Lin Fan, how dare you scold me?”

“For the sake of those two old fools, you dare to talk to me like that?”

Chen Yuanyuan couldn’t believe her ears. In the three years since their marriage, Lin Fan had always obeyed her every word. Forget scolding her—he didn’t even dare raise his voice.

What had gotten into him today?

“And why shouldn’t I?” Lin Fan replied coldly. “Let me tell you this, Chen Yuanyuan—from now on, I won’t give you a single cent.”

“Tomorrow, I’m changing my salary card.”

“And as for my parents’ pension, don’t even think about getting a single yuan from it again.”

Hearing this, Chen Yuanyuan exploded with rage. “Lin Fan, are you trying to push me into a corner?”

“After everything I’ve done for you all these years, it’s like feeding a dog!”

Lin Fan let out a cold snort. “What exactly have you done for me all these years?”

“Have you ever cooked a single meal for me? Washed even one dish?”

“Meanwhile, I come home from work every day and still have to cook and take care of you!”

Chen Yuanyuan defended herself, “Don’t you know that if a woman spends too much time in the kitchen, the oil fumes will make her age faster?”

“I keep myself young and beautiful for your sake—so you can have some pride when you take me out!”

That part wasn’t entirely false. She really was beautiful. Every time they went out, people would praise Lin Fan for marrying such a stunning wife.

But what use was beauty alone? Could it be eaten like food?

Worse still, beneath that beautiful exterior lurked a heart as venomous as a snake.

Lin Fan let out a cold laugh. “Fine, then go live with your beauty.”

“Lin Fan, what do you mean by that?” Chen Yuanyuan asked coldly, an uneasy feeling rising in her chest.

“Lin Fan, I’ll ask you one last time. Are you going to pay for my sister’s graduate school or not?”

“Get lost.”

“Not a single cent!”

Lin Fan’s voice was firm, leaving no room for doubt.

Want him to fund that gold-digging sister-in-law? What a joke.

“Fine! Lin Fan, I must have been blind to you.”

“Looks like you don’t want to live with me anymore.”

“Let’s get a divorce!”

Chen Yuanyuan’s voice turned icy.

She didn’t truly want a divorce. She knew her family’s situation—without Lin Fan, she wouldn’t be able to maintain her current life at all.

This was nothing more than a threat, a way to force Lin Fan to give in.

“Divorce?”

Hearing this, joy flickered in Lin Fan’s heart.

The moment he was reborn, he had already considered this path. Now that Chen Yuanyuan had brought it up herself, there was no reason for him to refuse.

Once he got rid of this parasitic family, with his monthly income of 15,000 to 16,000 yuan, wouldn’t his life become comfortable and carefree?

“Alright.”

“Chen Yuanyuan, you said it yourself.”

“Let’s get a divorce!”
