“Mm… mm-hmm…”

The sound of water, panting, the friction of damp skin—countless noises echoed in Lin Yue Shu’s mind, rising and falling.

His consciousness was like a ball of yarn played with by a kitten, becoming more tangled the more he tried to sort it out.Full novel: Ignoring My Calls? Did You Reconcile With Your Husband? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Lin Yue Shu slowly opened his eyes.

What he saw was a magnificent ceiling with a golden chandelier hanging in the center. The gilded frame was inlaid with layers of Murano glass, cascading down like a waterfall from a cliff.

His mind hadn’t fully returned yet, and he stared at the chandelier, thinking hazily:

It looks like stretched, semi-transparent malt candy.

Lin Yue Shu blinked, and the next second, he suddenly felt his breath catch. Before his brain could react, his body was already moving up and down, like a tattered little boat in a vast ocean.

A dense pain spread from the center to every part of his body.

After the wave-like pain receded, an indescribable subtle tremor arose, as if an unknown switch in his brain was being toggled back and forth by a hand.

Lin Yue Shu found himself unable to make a sound, his breath shattered into pieces.

Instinctively, he looked down, and the scene before him made his pupils dilate dramatically.

Two bodies, glowing with a warm hue, were stacked like a human pyramid, covered in a layer of hot, moist steam.

A black head slowly moved, biting into the tender flesh.

“It hurts!” Lin Yue Shu couldn’t help but cry out, his voice hoarse and out of tune.

This sentence seemed like an encouraging cheer. The man on top of him paused briefly upon hearing these three words, then resumed his furious onslaught like a raging storm.

Lin Yue Shu finally realized:

Having been in the entertainment industry for many years, having seen all kinds of storms, and always adhering to the principle of “not fearing to be broken to pieces, but wishing to leave a clean name in the world,” he was now experiencing a great calamity.

His eyes turned red: “I’ll fight you to the end!”

He struggled to glance to the side and saw a fruit plate on the bedside table, with a silver fruit knife lying diagonally in it.

Lin Yue Shu grabbed the fruit knife and raised it high—

The man on top seemed to sense his movement and lifted his head.

The knife suspended in mid-air, however, did not fall.

Lin Yue Shu met the man’s gaze and was stunned for a long time.

A beautifully handsome face, evidence of being kissed by God. Eyes hazy with intoxication, breathtaking.

Lin Yue Shu swallowed, and the hand holding the knife made a sharp turn midway, grabbing an apple and starting to peel it, a smile on his lips:

“Thanks for your hard work, let me peel an apple for you to replenish some vitamin C.”

The man stared at him intently, his dark gaze like an eagle or wolf.

He snatched the apple from Lin Yue Shu’s hand, along with the knife, and tossed them aside.

Before Lin Yue Shu could react, a large hand fell, covering his mouth tightly. After a heavy sigh, the sound of water resumed, and Lin Yue Shu’s eloquent mouth was now reduced to disordered, indistinct gasps.

It was like a moan, yet also like a sharp cry, all sounds suppressed under that large, well-defined hand, becoming unclear.

His internal organs felt like they were being ground by a meat grinder, and amidst the painful invasion, countless tiny electric currents were born, spreading wildly along his body’s pathways.

Lin Yue Shu didn’t know when he was turned over, his eyes unfocused and not knowing where to look.

It felt like a python was moving around inside his stomach.

He rolled his eyes, his already blurred consciousness hijacking his brain, leading him to say:

“So good…”

*

“Cough, cough, cough.”

Lin Yue Shu was awakened by his own coughing, his throat burning painfully, itching to the core.

When he opened his eyes, it was still that warm-colored waterfall chandelier.

He moved his fingers, his whole body aching as if it had fallen apart.

The rustling sound of fabric rubbing against each other came from beside him.

Lin Yue Shu followed the sound and saw a solid back, the well-defined muscles sharp and beautiful, the color as clean as freshly fallen snow.

Those strong, powerful arms lifted, and a snow-white, luxurious shirt covered the body.

Lin Yue Shu sighed softly.

So good-looking, a body full of muscles he could only envy.

Wait, who is this?

The man finished tying his tie, put on his suit, and turned around, seeing Lin Yue Shu awake, wrapped in a thin sheet, staring at his back in a daze.

The man’s gaze swept over Lin Yue Shu’s pale face, pausing briefly on his body.

The thin sheet wrapped around his slender body, half-covered, half-exposed, his jade-like skin as white as snow, with red marks scattered about, the two contrasting colors strikingly vivid.

The man withdrew his gaze, seemingly uninterested in engaging in idle chatter with Lin Yue Shu, buttoned up and strode towards the door, his voice deep:

“I’ll have my secretary send over the compensation later.”

“Wait.” Lin Yue Shu called out to him, “Who are you?”

The man, with his back to him, remained unmoved, and after a few breaths, he left the room.

Lin Yue Shu sat on the bed for a long time, still unable to figure out the situation.

His thoughts drifted, and he closed his eyes, recalling the intense suffocating sensation from his first experience, and the electric-like tingling pain that coursed through his body.

Lin Yue Shu had always been deeply averse to such things, feeling physically nauseous just thinking about it.

He knew that some struggling small stars in the industry sold their bodies for resources, and he had thought that if such a thing happened to him, it would be a devastating blow, and he might just jump headfirst off the company’s rooftop.

Only today did he realize how narrow-minded his old-fashioned views were.

He reminisced about the man’s galloping on his body—

For a long time, Lin Yue Shu shuddered, looking down.

Ah, it came out.

Lin Yue Shu went into the bathroom, and the sight of himself in the mirror was unbearable. Circular bite marks, small red spots, seemed to be the man’s favorite spots.

He endured the pain and discomfort, tidying himself up in the bathroom for a long time, and when he came out, he was a size smaller.

Lin Yue Shu habitually found his phone, collapsed weakly on the bed, and unlocked it.

Flipping through it, surprisingly, his manager, who usually had separation anxiety, hadn’t bombarded him with calls this time.

Upon closer inspection, this didn’t seem to be his phone, unless he was coerced, he wouldn’t use such a tacky phone case.

Was it that man’s?

Thinking of that man, Lin Yue Shu felt a surge again.

Just as he grabbed a tissue, the room phone rang.

“Hello, sir, this is room service. Would you like me to come up and prepare lunch for you now?”

Lin Yue Shu asked her to come up, and soon, the room service staff came in with a tray, dragging a small suitcase with the other hand.

She kept her head deeply lowered, as if afraid to look at Lin Yue Shu’s face, placing the tray and suitcase down, bowing:

“The suitcase was left by the guest who just left, for you.”

“Wait.” Lin Yue Shu stopped her, adjusting his robe to cover the marks, “Who was that guest?”

The service staff, hearing this, lowered her head even more, her voice trembling:

“Just… just… a guest…”

“Name.”

“This…” It was clear she knew, but for some reason, she didn’t want to say, or didn’t dare to say.

“Mr. Lin.” She changed the subject, “Also, this is the lunch your husband instructed us to prepare for you. Enjoy your meal.”

“My husband?” Lin Yue Shu was incredulous. He was a good young man, how could he be married so young? The service staff must have made a mistake.

“Mm-hmm, I’ll get busy now. Call me when you’re done with lunch.” The service staff hurriedly left, leaving Lin Yue Shu in a fog.

Lin Yue Shu ate his lunch, recalling the events leading up to this.

Last night, he was invited to an artist’s party, where a small-time actor greeted him. He tried hard to recognize the face but couldn’t match it with a name, so out of politeness, he said:

“You’re Wang Xiaobao, right? I’ve seen your sitcom, not bad, promising future.”

With just that sentence, the room fell silent.

Afterwards, the small-time actor left with a dark face.

A fellow artist quietly pulled Lin Yue Shu aside:

“Why did you offend him? His godfather is a top producer with connections, be careful, both he and his godfather are very petty.”

At the time, Lin Yue Shu didn’t take it seriously, but after a few drinks, his mind became muddled, and his body felt hot. He stumbled towards the hotel, and just as he was about to enter his room, a pair of chubby hands supported him.

Looking up, he saw a pig-headed face, greasy and smiling lewdly.

He wanted to push the pig head away, but found he had no strength, and was easily dragged into the room.

After that, he lost consciousness.

Lin Yue Shu rested his chin on his hand, trying to piece together last night’s experience with today’s encounter into a coherent story, but found a missing segment, making the whole thought process disjointed.

Yet the scenes of a night with the man felt eerily familiar in some places.

Lin Yue Shu lost his appetite, using a fork to poke at the remaining food, trying to find something interesting to eat, but instead found a greasy card at the bottom of the plate.

He was about to call room service to ask about it when he noticed a line of words on it:

[Did you like it? Remember how you coldly watched when Ling Man asked for your help, now taste his pain. The debt you owe, pay it back slowly.]

Lin Yue Shu held the card, reading it over and over.

In a flash, the name Ling Man exploded in his mind.

Lin Yue Shu looked up at the waterfall chandelier, and the missing piece of logic filled in the last piece of the puzzle.
