Confrontation at the Boutique
“Darling, so this is where you were~~”
Henry’s actions had equally shocked the shop assistants.
Some recognized Anna as a regular customer of their shop. However, from their conversation, it was clear that the man before them seemed to be Anna’s ex-fiancé, and moreover, from the Rumelter family.
But listening further, they realized the man had actually been cast out by the Rumelter family.
For a moment, they looked at each other, unsure whom to help.
Because anyone with eyes could see that Anna was the one causing the unreasonable trouble.
Yet, Anna was a regular customer at their shop, which put them in a dilemma.
“This… what should we do? Who should we help?”
“Of course, help neither. I don’t want to get involved, what about you, Gina?”
“Tch, am I the only one who finds this man utterly tasteless? Never mind that he’s an ex-fiancé, but he actually hit a woman! He has no gentlemanly bearing at all!”
The shop assistant named Gina was very dissatisfied with Henry.
More importantly, she believed Anna was a VIP customer in their store. If she could help her in this matter, Anna might later favor her, giving her substantial sales commissions, and then she could get promoted!
Just thinking about this made her inexplicably excited!
She put on a serious expression, walked up to Anna, helped her up, and then spoke sternly to Henry.
“Sir, you must apologize to this lady immediately! No matter what happened, you should not have laid a hand on her!”
Upon hearing this, Henry raised an eyebrow.
This shop assistant was simply talking nonsense. Clearly, he was the one being harassed and obstructed by Anna, so how did it become his fault to apologize?
“I’m the one being harassed here, why should I apologize?”
“You must apologize! Otherwise, I’ll call the guards!”
Gina appeared to be full of righteous indignation, even Anna was moved by her actions.
Anna seemed to gain more confidence, her voice becoming shriller.
“Henry! I never thought you would become like this after our engagement was called off! What you just did to me is grounds for imprisonment! But I am magnanimous. As long as you are willing to buy all these clothes for me, and then come with me to the Rumelter family to apologize, I can choose to forgive you and fulfill the marriage agreement with you.”
Anna’s words sounded as if she were bestowing a great favor upon Henry.
But Henry felt this little fairy seemed to still be stuck in the era when he was her simp.
This was exactly why Henry so despised simps.
Such people simply ruined the market, making some ordinary women overly confident, to the point of having no sense of self-awareness.
Although Anna before him had some charms, she seemed to have forgotten that he didn’t even care about the Rumelters, so how could she possibly threaten him?
“Alright then, let me ask you a question. If one day, a man more outstanding and wealthier than me appeared by your side, would you still choose me?”
Henry crossed his arms and looked at Anna with amusement.
After hearing Henry’s words, Anna was first stunned, then quickly replied.
“That would definitely depend on the situation. For example, like before when you were cast out by the Rumelter family, you weren’t even the heir anymore. That made it very hard for me to accept you. If you truly liked me, you couldn’t possibly stop me from running towards a better person, could you?”
“Exactly, a woman’s youth is precious. If you can’t provide Anna with a stable environment, how can she feel secure marrying you?”
Anna said this as if it were perfectly natural, and Gina, standing nearby, chimed in, fully agreeing with her.
The other shop assistants listening nearby had complex expressions.
While this logic seemed sound, it sounded far too utilitarian.
Leaving someone when they are down and out – is that really liking the person? Or does she only like their status and wealth?
They thought this internally, but as shop assistants, they didn’t dare say it aloud.
She was a big client; they couldn’t afford to offend her.
Henry, however, laughed immediately upon hearing this.
It seemed these people’s thought processes were quite similar: kick away whoever has no more use or value.
“Hearing you say that reassures me. Although I don’t like you, I have indeed met someone more outstanding than you now. So, you can’t stop me from running towards a better person, right?”
The two women, who had been waiting for Henry to obediently submit, were instantly dumbfounded.
Especially Anna.
After hearing Henry’s reply, she couldn’t even speak clearly.
“What… what are you saying? What do you mean, you met someone more outstanding than me?”
“Just what the words mean. I met someone better than you. Can’t you understand that?”
“This… how is that possible? With you? A cast-out from the Rumelter family, and even expelled from Saint Nad Magic Academy? Stop joking, Henry. I know there are many people here, you want to save face, but you can’t just lie like that, can you?”
Anna couldn’t help but laugh as she said this.
Given Henry’s previous desperate, life-or-death attitude towards their engagement, she was sure she still held a special place in his heart.
But now he claimed to have met someone better? What a joke.
She knew he had no magical power whatsoever, and couldn’t even stay at Saint Nad Magic Academy.
Someone like that still wants to meet outstanding people?
If that’s not lying, what is?
Thinking this, Anna felt increasingly confident that she could manipulate Henry, just like before.
Whatever she wanted, he would give her.
“Enough, Henry. I’m in a good mood today and don’t want to argue with you. Hurry up and try to please me. Maybe if I’m happy later, I’ll let you hold my hand.”
Anna raised her haughty head, looking like a peacock.
Henry looked at her and knew she was completely immersed in her own world.
No matter what explanation he gave, she wouldn’t listen.
So he simply turned to the other shop assistants and said,
“Help me find a suitable suit. I need it for meeting someone later.”
“Henry, I’m talking to you! Can’t you hear me?”
“That’s right, you’re so rude!”
Seeing Henry ignore her, Anna grew angry.
If Henry continued with this attitude, she would truly not forgive him.
“I think the rude ones are you two.”
A leisurely voice interrupted the tense atmosphere in the shop.
Everyone turned to look, and their expressions changed drastically upon seeing the newcomer.
Even Gina, who had been making a fuss alongside Anna, lowered her head and fell silent.
Sensing the shift in the shop’s atmosphere, Anna frowned at the newcomer.
She couldn’t accept someone stealing her spotlight the moment they appeared.
She snorted coldly and asked disdainfully,
“And who are you? What does what I do have to do with you?”
The newcomer, instead of getting angry at Anna’s words, walked straight to Henry’s side and familiarly took hold of his arm.
Her cheek pressed against Henry, her voice intimate.
“Darling, why didn’t you tell me you were coming out? I searched for you everywhere at your place.”
“Sherisa? What are you doing here?”
Sherisa curled her lips into an enchanting smile, her fingertip lightly hooking Henry’s button.
“It’s all your fault for not looking for me all this time. Have you been entangled by some Vixen?”
Sherisa looked toward Anna, the smile on her face full of mockery.
