Magic Artifacts, a term used by witches to refer to alchemical products, are devices powered by magic and possessing extraordinary capabilities.
These artifacts are incredibly rare; even an average witch's annual income might not be enough to purchase a single one.
Meng Lian was stunned to learn that Magic Artifacts existed within Nordrin and could be brought into the real world.
"Isn't Nordrin an Illusionary Realm? How could anything from an illusion possibly manifest in reality?"
"Who said things from illusions are necessarily fake?" Mo Du interjected. "Junior Sister, do you know who rules Illusionary Realm Nordrin? It's the Primordial Witch (#0), the great being who birthed all witches."
The Primordial Witch, the supreme entity in the witch worldview, was a figure even Meng Lian had heard of.
According to witch legends, the Primordial Witch created the entire universe. She is the mother of all living beings, the absolute master of time and space, and the sovereign of all dimensions.
For witches, waging war against other civilizations in the cosmos isn't about conquest, but about fulfilling the Primordial Witch's will and reclaiming what rightfully belongs to them.
Of course, Meng Lian saw all this as merely the Witch's way of glorifying war.
"Legend has it that Nordrin is the Primordial Witch's dream. Moved by compassion for those who would later wander lost in the Illusionary Arts, she selflessly shared her dream with us, allowing us to advance further in this path."
"The Magic Artifacts we can retrieve from Nordrin are likely the Primordial's rewards for us."
"Praise the Primordial."
"Praise the Primordial."
"Praise the Primordial."
Qian Yun and the other two suddenly began praising the Primordial Witch with fervent devotion. Meng Lian, seeing this, hastily joined in.
But inwardly, she kept apologizing:
*Heavenly Emperor above, children's words are harmless, children's words are harmless.*
"Alright, Senior Sister, stop teasing Junior Sister. Nordrin being the Primordial's dream is just speculation. You're making it sound so mysterious and serious."
Huh?
Meng Lian blinked in confusion. Was Mo Du teasing her?
She glanced at Mo Du, only to find him looking away, but the corners of his lips were turned up in a wide grin.
Seriously? It was just a joke? I thought this was some kind of Witch ritual, a solemn occasion.
Meng Lian gritted her teeth, her cheeks puffing out like a golden pufferfish.
"Even if Nordrin isn't sure if it's the Primordial Dream, Illusionist #4 did say Nordrin was connected to the Primordial Witch, right?" Qian Yun interjected.
"Illusionist #4?" Meng Lian's interest was immediately piqued by the seemingly legendary name.
"Oh, right, I forgot Junior Sister just underwent Witch Transformation and isn't fully familiar with Witch lore yet," Qian Yun said, slapping her forehead in frustration.
"Ahem, to put it briefly, Phantom is our ancestral founder, a Witch who mastered the Illusionary Path. She's a Sequence Witch, ranked fourth."
"In the Witch hierarchy, Witches are broadly classified into four tiers: Ordinary Witches, Extraordinary Witches, Great Witches, and Sequence Witches."
"Our mentor is a Great Witch. I recently advanced to Extraordinary Witch, while you and Third Junior Sister are still Ordinary Witches."
The gap between each tier is immense, like a divine chasm. Cross-tier combat is practically impossible, making Witch society a brutal hierarchy of survival of the fittest.
Fortunately, ordinary witches make up 98% of the witch population, with only the remaining 2% reaching the Extraordinary Witch level or higher. This is why the second realm is called Extraordinary Witch.
Qian Yun stirred her coffee, her gaze distant. "Without reaching the Extraordinary level, you'll remain an ordinary person who knows only basic magic. After graduation, you might gain citizenship in the Witch Empire and avoid being sent to the front lines to die, but your future path will be predictable. When your two-hundred-year lifespan ends, the world will simply lose one more ordinary witch."
"Sequence Witches, on the other hand, are those who have pushed their respective paths to their absolute limits. For them, time is merely a plaything in their hands. Any phenomenon that defies logic becomes commonplace in their presence."
As she spoke, Qian Yun and her companions wore expressions of deep longing. Sequence Witches represent the lifelong pursuit of every witch.
"Take our Illusionary Arts lineage, for example. Our ancestor, Illusionist #4, transcended mere deception. For her, illusions became reality itself. The Illusionary Realms she created are not mere fabrications; they exist truly, woven into the fabric of the past, present, and future."
Meng Lian's eyes widened in shock.
If the Illusionary Realm is real, how is that different from a god?
"There's still a difference," Qian Yun said with a gentle smile. "For witches, the Primordial Witch (#0) is the supreme being. No matter how great or awe-inspiring the achievements of other witches may be, they are all merely successors to the Primordial Witch." Get faster updates on novelping(.)com.
Seeing Meng Lian's thoughts written plainly on her face, Qian Yun chuckled. "So, it's not surprising that Magic Artifacts can be brought out of Nordrin. After all, if Nordrin truly is the Primordial Witch's dream realm, then only allowing Magic Artifacts to be taken out would be rather stingy. Logically, the people inside should be able to come out as well."
No thanks, Meng Lian thought, shuddering at the memory of the white-haired, red-eyed girl who had surpassed her by five days.
Is she crazy? Bringing a juice-extraction machine into the real world? Does she really think her kidneys are made of gold?
"But we can't forget about our Little Star," Qian Yun said, poking Fei Xing's cheek with a fond smile. "After all, she's the greatest beneficiary of Nordrin."
"I told you, I just got lucky," Fei Xing protested, pouting slightly.
Fei Xing pouted her small lips, but her expression was clearly enjoying the moment.
"Oh, right! As my only Junior Sister, it's only natural for me, as your Senior Sister, to give you a proper gift."
Fei Xing produced a bracelet from seemingly nowhere and handed it to Meng Lian.
"It's a Magic Artifact—a Storage Chain. Each bead contains ten cubic meters of storage space."
The bracelet consisted of ten thumb-sized, pink beads strung together. If Fei Xing's claim was accurate, the chain should have a total storage capacity of one hundred cubic meters.
Meng Lian had seen storage artifacts before, but in the Alliance, such items were reserved for the wealthy and powerful, serving as status symbols.
Although the Witch Empire far surpassed the Alliance in power, such artifacts were still beyond the means of ordinary witches.
Meng Lian was stunned that Fei Xing would offer such a valuable gift so casually. She was about to decline when Qian Yun cut in.
"Junior Sister, you should accept it. Our Little Star has a whole basket of these things."
How many?!
Meng Lian stared in disbelief at Fei Xing, who was blissfully serving as a "brainwave cushion." She could never have imagined this girl was a wealthy heiress.
"I'm not some rich heiress!" Fei Xing huffed indignantly. "These are all things I brought from Nordrin."
Seeing Meng Lian's expression, Fei Xing knew exactly what she was thinking. She sniffed haughtily, "I was a princess in Nordrin. My room was overflowing with these things—I could never use them all."
