It was common knowledge outside that the Milong Real Estate family consisted entirely of alphas. Ji Yanxing guessed the Mi family was relatively traditional and conservative.

So, was the little spoiled omega as beloved as the rumors suggested?

And he looked so haggard. The Mi family really didn’t know how to raise a child.

Ji Yanxing remained silent, his dark, deep-set eyes fixed intently on Mi Su, as if he already knew this was the little kitten capable of heaven and earth.

Mi Su scratched his head, his invisible cat ears flattening against his scalp in alert.

“…”

Meow.

Does he know something?

This human seemed to have X-ray vision, able to see right through the clothes he wore, scanning every inch of the tender, soft skin beneath the fabric like a scanner.

It gave Mi Su the spine-chilling feeling of being pounced on by a big dog and licked all over.

Under such a gaze, the omega couldn’t force himself to look cute. His delicate, palm-sized face showed a trace of disdain. “What are you looking at? So annoying!”

The naturally revealed expression made his face even more charming and lively.

After being scolded, Ji Yanxing finally returned to normal, shifting his gaze away. “Where did you go last night?”

You still dare ask? Mi Su’s expression turned even more indignant.

Of course, it was because of you, you wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing bad guy, locking me up in the hospital, listening to those silly dogs bark all night!

Remembering their first meeting at the café, the pretty little omega lifted his chin. “You have no right to inquire about my privacy.”

Bringing up this line again somehow felt sarcastic.

You~have~no~right~to~inquire~about~my~privacy~

Ji Yanxing’s handsome face darkened.

Everyone else present broke out in a cold sweat.

So Young Master Ji didn’t come for no reason. They really were fighting, weren’t they!?

Father Mi put on a stern face, pretending to scold him. “Su Su.”

Many young people engage in pre-marital, retaliatory revelry, messing around with each other, chaotic affairs. They hadn’t gotten their marriage certificate yet, but the arranged marriage was set in stone. They absolutely couldn’t mess it up.

Mi Su straightened his neck, as stubborn as a cat.

Just as everyone thought a fight was about to break out, the grim-faced alpha let out a cold laugh. “Fine, you’re right.”

Ji Yanxing adjusted his demeanor almost instantly.

He still looked like the noble, proud CEO. Even during the meal, his conversation was flawless. In the end, he calmly took Mi Su back to the Ji family ancestral home.

Such calmness, however, made the whole family even more worried.

A person only has a clear view as an observer when they don’t care about the other party, ready to leave at any time.

·

That night at the Ji residence, Mi Su peeked his little head out from the bedroom door.

His honey-colored eyes blinked as he observed the man pacing back and forth with a report for a moment. “I sleep very well now, no need for you to stand guard.”

Ji Yanxing’s steps halted. The lines of his profile were sharp and aloof.

“Who said I’m standing guard for you?”

His brows and eyes were shadowed, looking fierce and unapproachable. He only glanced at Mi Su. “You have no right to tell me what to do.”

The omega tilted his head in confusion. “Oh!”

Then bang, he closed the door, truly leaving the alpha stranded outside.

Ji Yanxing: “.”

It must be a play hard to get tactic.

Inside the room, the slender young man transformed into a chubby little kitten, hopping onto the big bed with a bounce. He let out a big yawn, curled up into a little cat bagel, and got ready to sleep.

Human, cat really has no time to play games with you.

Cat has important business tomorrow.

·

“Huff, puff!”

The next morning, the little kitten struggled its way to the shared cat house. With a shake of its head, it tossed the thing it had been carrying all the way behind the three large, chubby cats.

“Meow?”

“What’s that?”

The unidentified object rolled over with a gulu gulu sound. The big orange cat, busy eating, caught it in his peripheral vision and instantly puffed up into a bristling stegosaurus.

“Snake! It’s a snake!!”

The three truck-sized cats jumped up screaming in unison, bouncing like springs and crashing into the cat house, making a rackety din!

Little Mi Su gave them a disdainful look, pushing the object toward the food bowl with his pink nose. “Cowards.”

Once they realized there was no threat, the stressed-out chubby cats gathered around, sniffing the vegetable that radiated health with shock. “Oh, it’s a cucumber! Thought the stinky snake invaded our turf!”

Their plump backs huddled together, their little tail tips brushing against each other.

Little Mi Su: “This is my ‘light meal’ for today.”

The boss was always so trendy. The cow-patterned cat licked the leftover canned meat scraps from his mouth, eager to learn. “What’s a ‘light meal’?”

“‘Light meal,’ ‘light meal’~” the smallest but most spherical-looking kitten said proudly, “means gently biting through the food, meow~”

Little Mi Su even specially demonstrated the correct way to eat a light meal for the cats.

His round mouth first took a big bite of cat food, then turned to take a big bite of fragrant canned food.

Finally, using both paws to steady the cucumber, he took a crisp bite!

Even his whiskers were straining!

Refreshing juice filled his mouth. For some reason, the kitten felt even more appetite, but still seriously smacked his little lips. “See? Eating like this helps with body management.”

“Wow—”

Hearing about the boss’s harrowing hospital experience from the other day, the cats were terrified and all wanted to start body management.

—Cat definitely doesn’t want to get poked by humans!

Crunch crunch crunch…

The four cats took bites left and right, balancing meat and veggies, focused and dedicated, gnawing on the cucumber with chaotic enthusiasm.

“Burp.”

By the end, Little Mi Su realized there was still a small half of the canned food left, but the cucumber was gone.

How could this be?

Said we’d eat light meals all day. Missing even one kibble or one lick of canned food doesn’t count as a full day!

The kitten refused to waste food. He dashed to the grass patch, found some edible greens, brought them back, and stuffed them all into the can.

Burying his head in it, he finally finished the canned food and cat kibble.

The four kittens lay on the lawn sunbathing, their bellies round and full, and took another nap.

Today’s light meal intake was completely over the limit. The kitten thought he would surely lose a lot of weight.

This was so healthy.

The orange-and-white cat licked its little arm and asked, “Boss, have you figured out what jobs a kitten can do, meow?”

Little Mi Su stood up and shook his head.

The big orange cat moved closer in confusion, wrapping its tail around the little cat’s shoulder in opposition. “Work? Who can stick with that stuff? Cats just need to sleep, eat, and sunbathe!”

The chocolate daifu shook its head again.

“No, you don’t know my past story.”

“Once, people called me the Grassland Overlord, the Killing Machine. But now, I’m just a kitten.”

Thinking about it, the cat licked its paw in humiliated haste. “…Sometimes I even have to sell Miao’s beauty and soul!”

The kitten, only the length of a palm, was exceptionally determined, its big round eyes bright and spirited.

“No matter what, I will give it a try first.”

Yesterday at the Mi family villa, before going upstairs to rest, Mi Su had overheard every word his fourth brother, Mi Fan, said.

“I will become a cat who can survive alone without relying on humans, just like countless cats living in the city.”

The little kitten walked alone to the entrance of a two-story cat cafe, determined to the point where even his whiskers were straining.

—Don’t underestimate cats.

Spotting a somewhat familiar silhouette, a blue and white British Shorthair’s mouth formed an ‘O’ in surprise. It squeezed through the cat flap with a pop, circled little Mi Su, sniffing him, its tail held high and proud.

“Well, well, well! It’s you again, pretty little cat!”

The British Shorthair narrowed its eyes with a smirk. “Made up your mind? Coming to work for me, meow?”

“Didn’t you look down on our place before, meow?”

Little Mi Su raised a small black paw, pressing it against the other cat’s mouth.

“Different.” His expression on his innocent, round face was calm. He glanced at the humans behind the transparent glass, intoxicated by cat-snuggling, and puffed out his fluffy chest. “I’m here to earn money. I’m nobler than all of them!”

He gave off the vibe of a pure, determined little white flower about to start work at a grand Shanghai dance hall.

British Shorthair: “Meow meow meow meow meow!”

Yo yo yo yo yo!

The British Shorthair gave him a once-over. This kitten had some backbone.

But…

“Follow me. Let me say upfront, our boss is very strict. He never hires local cats. You’ll probably get rejected. Don’t come crying to me later.”

While the plump Brit was stuck in the cat flap, legs flailing, the little kitten walked up to the store’s standing promotional sign. With a leap, he tore off the flyer for “Front Desk Hiring” next to the “9.9 New Customer Special Coffee” sign.

Holding the paper in his mouth, he lowered his head and gave a nudge. Once the British Shorthair squeezed through, he agilely jumped in after.

The shop had three staff and one boss.

The boss was curled up in a beanbag chair at the front desk, cursing while playing a game, completely oblivious to the big cat leading in a little one.

The British Shorthair elegantly placed its paws together. “Well, go talk to the boss yourself.”

Little Mi Su nodded, jumped onto the counter with the flyer in his mouth.

Before clearly seeing the omega’s face, he first caught the familiar scent of pheromones. The cat instantly felt a surge of annoyance.

—Citrus!

Displeased, the kitten swished its tail vigorously. With a leap, it dove into Xiao Yu’s lap. Xiao Yu cursed, the impact so heavy he thought a grenade had hit him!

“Where did this kitten come from?”

Not expecting the boss to be this unpleasant-smelling fellow, Mi Su’s eyes turned fierce. He relaxed his jaw, and the flyer landed on the human.

“Meow.” His paw stepped on the job listing.

No normal person would think a kitten was applying for a job, let alone a kitten bringing the job listing for a targeted interview.

Xiao Yu held up the little cat in astonishment, his eyes practically popping out. “Why do you look so familiar? You remind me of someone…”

Mi Su struggled down irritably.

Without further ado, he jumped onto the countertop and squatted next to the smiling ceramic Maneki-neko. The home-invasion-style new employee had already auto-enrolled and was now reverse-interviewing the boss, indicating he wasn’t entirely satisfied but could make do.

The British Shorthair leaned against its owner’s leg and patted the flyer. “Meow~”

Xiao Yu finally understood, looking incredulously at the little furball smaller than the lucky cat.

“You, a little kitten, want to be the front desk? Aren’t you just trying to scam some canned food?”

Just then, a customer walked in. The Tiramisu-colored grumpy kitten instantly turned sunny. His two amber eyes sparkled as he raised a little paw, waving it softly.

Less power-consuming than the Maneki-neko, more fun than the Maneki-neko.

Making eye contact with the customer, he immediately opened his little mouth with warm enthusiasm: “Meow—”

He even secretly sped up his paw-waving, determined to out-hustle the lucky cat.

The customer, like an NPC from a “electric-eye beauty” mini-game, had two heart-shaped eyes pop up. They turned and headed inside, trailed by a string of other customers who had somehow also become mesmerized.

Foot traffic +10!

Xiao Yu stared, dumbfounded. “…”

The little kitten, like a victorious player in a game’s results screen, turned its head to look at Xiao Yu, its little mouth curling up proudly. “Meow?”

How about that?
