Ji Yanxing sat facing Misu and slid his phone over. “What would you like to drink?”

The omega’s curious gaze finally shifted from the alpha’s face down to the sleek, high-tech electronic menu.

He still had the original host’s memories in his little head.Full novel: I’m Not an Evil Kitten! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But those memories were like reference books—learning from them alone was tedious and far less enjoyable than listening to someone explain or scrolling through short videos.

Besides.

He was a self-centered little kitten, with his own heart as the center of the universe.

Only a cat’s rules could guide his actions.

Misu tilted his head like a small animal, as if doing so would allow him to see the person more clearly. “You want to give me something to drink?”

“Why?” The wariness and suspicion in his sweet, soft voice were unmistakable.

Back in the grasslands, a few opponents he had beaten into submission would offer him food and lower themselves to show deference.

But the kitten hadn’t fought this big guy yet.

“?”

Ji Yanxing frowned in displeasure, as if he were being accused of trying to poison him. “First, a gentleman would never let an omega pay. Second, don’t expect to hear anything else from me. We are not in that kind of relationship.”

To Misu, the implied meaning of these words was like playing the lute to a cat—utterly wasted.

The alpha’s clear, distinct sentences sounded to him like: “Gibberish, mumble jumble!”

Misu couldn’t understand, but he nodded anyway. “Oh!”

He leaned his delicate, pale face closer to the screen, staring at the interface listing various coffee beans. With a solemn and reverent tone, he called out—

“Kitty beans!”

The phone didn’t immediately overflow with endless kitty beans like a Skittles commercial. Not a single bean appeared. Misu tried again, “Kitty beans, please give me kitty beans!”

Ji Yanxing: “…”

He wavered between suspecting his fiancé had intellectual issues and assuming the delicate crybaby had never ordered for himself before. He chose the latter.

“This place doesn’t have kopi luwak,” the alpha said flatly, retrieving his phone. “I’ll just order something.”

A look of shock and disgust flashed across Misu’s face. “Huh, what?”

Ji Yanxing was originally a very patient person.

But he really couldn’t bring himself to be pleasant to a forced match.

“I ordered you a mocha. It’s chocolate-flavored, not bitter,” he said in a low voice, with no intention of humoring the delicate one by going through the menu. Take it or leave it.

Misu secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Okay, that didn’t sound like it contained feces.

He thought for a moment, then felt a surge of irritation.

What in the world!?

Humans actually… actually eat cat poop!

And they’ve set up so many shops for it, gathering in crowds to eat poop, savoring it slowly, and calling it “appreciating”!

—What exactly are they appreciating? Humans are truly disgusting, meow!

Somehow, seeing that pretty little face show a flicker of anger made the frustration clogging Ji Yanxing’s chest suddenly dissipate. It was oddly childish.

The two of them were on completely different wavelengths, and the atmosphere grew eerily quiet.

A server soon brought their drinks. Misu instinctively reached out a small paw and batted at the cup a few times, the heavy glass scraping against the solid wood tabletop.

Beating up his food a few times after receiving it was a habitual action for a wild cat.

After completing this pre-meal ritual, his plump, rosy lips finally closed around the straw, and he took a tentative sip.

Rich, sweet chocolate, along with coffee and milk, slid down his throat.

Oh my meow, meow, meow!?

Misu’s eyes lit up. He almost wanted to let his cat ears pop out and twitch!

A cat’s taste buds are simple and can’t detect sweetness. But now, born as a human, Misu felt no regret at all.

So! Good! Must! Drink!!!

Ji Yanxing watched as the delicate little thing guzzled down more than half the cup. He even scooped up a dollop of whipped cream with a stirrer and ate it, looking genuinely delighted.

He had just ordered it randomly. Why the exaggerated reaction?

This little omega…

Was he really that eager to please him?

The man crossed his arms, his stern expression slightly unnatural.

Misu looked at him then, recalling while speaking honestly, “My pheromones are chocolate with caramel, pretty much like this. Sweet and delicious.”

Ji Yanxing was taken aback.

Who describes their own scent as “delicious”?

Besides, pheromones are relatively private. You might catch a whiff, but who would be so open about discussing it?

This omega is really too…

He noticed a bit of milky-white cheese foam at the corner of Misu’s mouth, which the person seemed completely unaware of, looking utterly defenseless and easily taken advantage of.

That mouth was small, a distracting shade of pink, like ripe fruit waiting to be plucked and tasted—soft, sweet, and fragrant.

Ji Yanxing’s breath hitched. He frowned and looked away.

“And you?” Misu held the cup with one hand and the spoon with the other, eating noisily. “What do you smell like?”

Ji Yanxing felt inexplicably annoyed. “…You have no right to ask about my privacy.”

“This is just a business marriage. You play the part of the dutiful wife, and I’ll play the dutiful husband. Beyond that, don’t interfere.”

Misu’s taste buds were immensely satisfied.

This human, who had offered him food as a sign of submission, had a somewhat strange personality, but the cat was magnanimous and chose not to hold it against him.

After all, food was a scarce resource. In winter, cats often went hungry.

After licking up the last bit of whipped cream, his ability to think slowly returned. In a sweet voice, he asked, “What is a husband?”

The unflappable alpha finally took a sharp breath.

No wonder the Milong Group wanted to marry off their spoiled youngest son—turns out he’s an idiot.

He gritted his teeth in frustration and said irritably, “The person who provides you with food, clothing, shelter, and transportation.”

Misu licked his lips lingeringly, then nibbled on the stirrer.

Oh.

The cat’s worshipper.

Ji Yanxing glanced coldly at his watch and stood up. “Let’s go.”

“Where to?”

“To eat.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the previously languid omega practically launched himself up!

…

The car drove smoothly. After taking a call, Ji Yanxing finally glanced at Misu, who was also sitting in the back seat. “What do you want to eat?”

He had noticed earlier that the delicate one’s enthusiasm for food far exceeded his expectations. If he wasn’t hungry, what else could it be?

Ji Yanxing might despise a loveless arranged marriage, but he wouldn’t go so far as to let the other party starve. That would be rude.

Misu was tirelessly watching the scenery outside the window.

Different pedestrians, receding views—to him, it was as entertaining as watching TV.

They happened to pass by a commercial plaza, where a giant screen was playing an advertisement—

A few quick shots of fresh meat flashed by.

Squab, rabbit meat, cod…

Then, a leopard-like, agile cat dashed through the forest, its coat glossy and eyes bright, before stopping by a stream and suddenly devouring a full bowl of cat food.

The freeze-dried pieces and filled kibble looked incredibly delicious.

“Fresh, primal flavor, restoring your hunting instincts!”

“Scientifically formulated for healthier meows! Choose Hong’s Squab!”

Misu was utterly mesmerized. His starry eyes were filled with longing, as if he could already see himself as the majestic ruler of the forest.

Ji Yanxing clicked his tongue impatiently. “Misu?”

Misu replied excitedly, “Kitty beans!”

“What?” Ji Yanxing was puzzled.

Misu patiently repeated it a few more times, but the big dummy still didn’t understand. The cat’s patience plummeted, and he felt the urge to bare his teeth. “…”

He suddenly leaned in. Ji Yanxing stiffened. “What are you doing?”

The omega’s delicate, charming features came into clear view, accompanied by a wave of sweet, soft fragrance. A small hand rested on his shoulder, and soft lips slowly approached his ear.

Ji Yanxing’s handsome face flushed slightly. He was about to say something when—

Misu pressed close to his ear and suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs: “—KITTY BEAAAAANS!!!”

Trying to pierce the big dummy’s soul with sheer volume.

To ensure his message got through.

Ji Yanxing: “.”

Sssss!

This delicate one truly had the temperament of a spoiled young master—making a huge fuss over being a little late for dinner. Ji Yanxing wasn’t good at dealing with little brats, so he hurriedly took him to a restaurant.

At the same time, Ji Yanxing planned to teach him a lesson.

So, the alpha took him to a sea urchin restaurant with an average per-person cost of only one to two thousand yuan, trying to scare him off with cheap food.

Given Misu’s extravagant habits, he’d surely throw a tantrum.

Best case, he’d get so angry he’d cry and call off the engagement.

That would save Ji Yanxing a lot of trouble.

But Ji Yanxing didn’t know that an inland grassland cat had never eaten seafood before.

When that sea urchin, brimming with the flavors of the entire ocean, touched his tongue, Misu was instantly transported to the beautiful depths of the sea. He froze for a full minute, the pleasure so intense it made his scalp tingle!

If he were in cat form right now, his little tail would be standing straight up like an antenna, trembling with delight!

It was so delicious he wanted to meow and stomp his paws!

Ji Yanxing braced himself for Misu’s tantrum, but nothing happened.

Only after finishing the complimentary pineapple foie gras did the omega look up and say, “Human, you performed well.”

Ji Yanxing raised an eyebrow, thinking this person was more cunning than he’d imagined.

“Human? What kind of address is that? What other species could I possibly be?” The alpha narrowed his eyes. “Call me by my name.”

Misu wiped his mouth and looked at him innocently. “Husband, you performed well.”

“…”

…

Seeing their son, whom they hadn’t seen in days, return home with his future spouse, Mr. and Mrs. Ji were so pleased they couldn’t stop smiling. It seemed the afternoon date had gone well.

But soon, Mrs. Ji and Chairman Ji noticed something was off.

The two of them weren’t interacting at all. In the vast villa, they went about their own business, treating each other like air. Even their rooms were far apart.

This wouldn’t do.

That evening, Mrs. Ji found an excuse to have Ji Yanxing call Misu downstairs so the four of them could have a late-night snack together. She had specially prepared crab shell baked bird’s nest to nourish her beautiful omega daughter-in-law.

But when they saw the two coming down the stairs, one behind the other, with a distance wider than the Milky Way between them, the couple exchanged disapproving glances.

Mrs. Ji frowned delicately. “Yanxing, why didn’t you wait for Susu? Why walk so fast?”

The man pulled out a chair and sat across from his parents.

“He has legs of his own. Should I carry him?”

“You, child!”

The couple immediately looked at Misu to see if he was upset. The little one’s expression remained unchanged, which made them even more convinced he was silently enduring grievance.

The cat was a bit distracted, still savoring the Qing dynasty palace drama he’d been watching in his room.

He had decided to understand this world from multiple angles.

So, he chose to watch TV. The cat felt he had much in common with the emperor above all others—dispensing rewards and punishments justly, supreme and unmatched.

Misu first looked at the elders and obediently called out, “Dad, Mom.”

Then, he leaned sideways, his warm, fragrant, and soft body plopping right onto Ji Yanxing’s… little Ji Yanxing. This was the Cat Emperor’s reward to a subject—serving as His Majesty’s cushion.

Bestowed with the title: Sea Urchin Prince.

The alpha’s mind went completely blank: “…?”

Chairman Ji: “o.o!!!”

Mrs. Ji: “o.o!!!”

However, the Sea Urchin Prince did not respond with the expected tearful gratitude. Instead, his entire body stiffened like iron, and his usually indifferent, handsome face visibly flushed bright red in an instant.

He abruptly stood up, sending Misu tumbling down with a startled “meow!”

The air filled with a faint, slightly out-of-control scent of silver vine.

Ji Yanxing had never been so insulted. Fuming, his chest heaved dramatically as he nearly lost control, roaring, “How can an omega be so frivolous, casually sitting on an alpha?! Do you have no sense of shame at all?!”

The man reacted intensely and spoke rapidly, leaving Misu bewildered.

He only clearly caught the last sentence.

So, puffing up his little neck defiantly, his amber eyes wide and watery, he parroted back in an even louder roar: “No sense of shame! No sense of shame!”

“You!”

Ji Yanxing was so angry he was speechless. He turned and stormed upstairs.

Mrs. Ji quickly hugged the little omega to comfort him, but Misu was utterly confused. Did this human only want to serve him without accepting any rewards?

His current brain capacity couldn’t handle overly complex matters.

Misu swiftly reached a simple conclusion—

Human bad! Human very bad!

…

At 2 a.m., the old mansion was utterly silent.

The door to Ji Yanxing’s room was slightly ajar. Two empty wine bottles lay discarded on the floor. The alpha had long since drunk himself into a deep sleep.

A stout, stool-like figure stood outside the door, dangerously fixated on the man in the bed.

…Do you know whose love you are rejecting?

The door crack was a bit narrow. The cat squeezed for a while, the flat chocolate waffle straining until, with a soft “pop,” it finally slipped into the room!

—You are rejecting the love of a heavenly being!

Pink toe beans made no sound on the carpet. The cat’s round, black pupils dilated, its ears flattened tightly against its little head like a dangerous seal.

Its chubby body suddenly wriggled!

With a nimble leap onto the bed, it accurately latched onto the alpha’s long, uncovered leg. Harmless-looking black paw pads flashed, revealing sharp claws!

One swipe, and a red mark appeared!

The cat was furious. It deftly dodged the man’s subconscious resistance in his sleep while turning its two little “bamboo shoots” into a blur!

Defying the cat is a crime!

The Sea Urchin Prince is hereby sentenced to the punishment of One Hundred Claw Scratches on the Leg!

“Huff… huff…”

Once the task was complete, the kitten’s fine whiskers stood on end. It was exhausted, but its wrath was not yet spent.

The little furball jumped onto the alpha’s pillow, looking down imperiously at that handsome face that received countless admirations. It turned its rear, lifted a hind leg…

“Pfft~!”

The chocolate daifuku’s figure, returning to its room, was full of glee, hopping and skipping, its little antenna-like tail twitching happily!

—Yay yay, the cat is happy now!
