[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining: Constitution Enhancement x2!]

In an instant, Xu Lang felt a warm current, several times stronger than before, surge violently through every part of his body.

His bones crackled faintly, and his muscles became tougher and more explosive at a speed invisible to the eye.

His already enhanced body received another doubled boost.

Now, his physique was four times that of an ordinary person.

Amazing.

Absolutely amazing.

The feeling of explosive power coursing through his entire body was intoxicating.

Before he could even recover from this overwhelming joy, the system’s notification sounded again.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining: Super Seed Pack (50 kilograms of potatoes, 50 kilograms of sweet potatoes, 50 kilograms of corn)!]

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining: God-Level Hunting Skill!]

Damn!

Xu Lang’s heart pounded wildly.

If food and Constitution Enhancement were what guaranteed his survival, then these next two rewards were the wings that would let him truly soar.

Potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn.

These were high-yield crops that only existed in later generations. In this era, they were practically heaven-defying treasures. With them, why worry about food? He could easily become a wealthy landowner.

And the God-Level Hunting Skill.

Countless techniques of tracking, trapping, archery, and combat flooded into his mind. He felt as if he had become a master hunter who had lived in the deep mountains for decades.

This meant an endless supply of meat.

Xu Lang forcibly suppressed the wild joy in his heart and returned his focus to reality.

He looked at Shopkeeper Zhang, who was still kneeling on the ground, clutching his leg and crying uncontrollably, then glanced at his three wives, their faces filled with shock and emotion. His heart burned with excitement.

Life was truly getting better and better.

“Boss, get up. The ground is cold.”

Xu Lang bent down and easily lifted the frail Shopkeeper Zhang with one hand. The effortless strength startled the man again.

He stuffed the remaining rice bag into Shopkeeper Zhang’s arms. “Take this and cook porridge for your daughter. The child comes first.”

Without another word, he rushed into the back of the shop and quickly returned with a string of keys. “Sir! Take whatever cloth you want from the shop! Take as much as you like! If it’s not enough, I have more in the storeroom! If you don’t mind, you can take everything!”

In a famine like this, even a small bag of rice could be exchanged for a living person. Trading it for his unsellable cloth was a tremendous gain for him.

“Husband…”

Hua Yourong walked to Xu Lang’s side, her eyes shimmering as she gently tugged at his sleeve. “I want… to use the best cloth to make you a new outfit.”

Xia Zhiruo nodded eagerly, her face full of admiration. “Yes! Let’s make Husband new clothes! He’ll definitely look the best wearing them!”

Even the usually stubborn Murong Yanran turned her head aside and muttered softly, “That… works too.”

Xu Lang felt delighted. “Alright! We’ll listen to my wives!”

He waved his hand boldly. “Boss, bring out your best fabric!”

“Right away!”

Shopkeeper Zhang wiped his tears and hurriedly brought out bolts of cloth. Soon, several rolls of soft blue fine cotton and thick, durable linen were piled onto the counter.

The three women’s eyes lit up as they gathered around, chatting excitedly.

“This color is nice, perfect for Husband’s outer robe.”

“This one is soft, good for inner wear.”

“Sister Yanran, how about making you a skirt with this?”

Seeing their joy, Xu Lang smiled as well.

In the end, under Shopkeeper Zhang’s repeated insistence, Xu Lang practically “looted” five bolts of high-quality cloth, enough for each of them to make two or three sets of new clothes.

Walking out of the shop carrying the heavy fabric, the three women’s faces glowed with long-lost happiness and satisfaction.

Yet beneath their joy, a trace of worry surfaced.

Xia Zhiruo hugged a roll of pale yellow cotton cloth and softly asked, “Husband, we took so much fabric and used so much rice… will we still have enough food at home?”

The moment she spoke, Hua Yourong lightly tapped her. “Zhiruo, don’t ask randomly. Husband knows what he’s doing.”

Murong Yanran said nothing, but her grip on the fabric tightened unconsciously.

For the first time, she was truly worrying about this “family’s” livelihood.

This man treated them too well. So well that it felt unreal. So well that she feared this stability might vanish like a fleeting dream.

Xu Lang looked at their hesitant, worried expressions and simply smiled without explaining.

Explain what?

Tell them that their husband had a system with mountains of food stored inside, enough to last forever?

Some secrets were better kept to himself.

The four of them walked on in silence, but the atmosphere was no longer as heavy as before.

However, as they approached the entrance of Dahe Village, a commotion and cries shattered the calm.

“Get lost, old man! Don’t push your luck!”

Under a large locust tree at the village entrance, a small crowd of numb villagers had gathered.

At the center, a burly man with a thick build and a fierce face was roughly dragging a young woman.

The woman wore simple clothes but could not hide her delicate beauty. She was the village’s famed beauty, Li Xiuzhi.

Her father, Li Cheng, a frail old man, knelt on the ground, clinging desperately to the man’s leg, tears streaming down his face.

“It’s her?”

Xu Lang paused for a moment. Before transmigrating, the original Xu Lang’s white moonlight had been the village beauty, Li Xiuzhi.

But that was the original Xu Lang’s white moonlight. For the current Xu Lang, his white moonlight was Hua Yourong.

My wife is so beautiful, gentle, virtuous, and well-endowed… what need is there for any other white moonlight?

“Master Zhao! We agreed on 2 kilograms of white flour to save our family! And now… you’re giving just these two bird eggs? How are we supposed to survive?”

Li Cheng clutched two dull gray bird eggs in his hand, pitifully small.

The burly man called Master Zhao wore a face full of impatience and cruelty.

He was Zhao Erhu’s elder brother, the only hunter in the village, Zhao Dahu.

Relying on his strength and his ability to occasionally bring back wild game from the mountains, Zhao Dahu had always acted tyrannically in the village.

“Damn you!”

Zhao Dahu kicked Li Cheng in the chest with disgust.

Bang.

The old man was sent flying like a rag doll, clutching his chest as he coughed painfully.

“I’m taking a liking to your daughter, that’s your family’s blessing! And you still dare to bargain with me?”

Zhao Dahu sneered and hoisted the struggling, crying Li Xiuzhi onto his shoulder. “Little beauty, come home with your brother and eat meat!”

The surrounding villagers lowered their heads, angry but silent. In times like this, whoever had food ruled.

Zhao Dahu was domineering, but he was the only one who could get meat.

Hua Yourong and Xia Zhiruo turned pale at the sight, instinctively moving closer to Xu Lang.

Murong Yanran, however, burned with anger. She could not stand such bullies abusing their power. She stepped forward, ready to scold him.

But a warm hand pressed down on her shoulder.

Xu Lang had already stepped in front of her, shielding her and the other two wives behind him.

He looked at the man carrying the woman, then at the old man writhing in pain on the ground.

Zhao Dahu, carrying Li Xiuzhi, was about to leave triumphantly when he turned and met Xu Lang and his group.

His gaze swept over Hua Yourong and Murong Yanran, and instantly, a greedy, lustful glint surged in his eyes.

“Oh? Where did these little beauties come from? They’re far more stunning than that Li Xiuzhi girl…”
