Ever since arriving in this Marvel world, Ye Bai had understood that this world was fundamentally a dark one.

No one could truly be relied upon, and that included superheroes.

Even so, Ye Bai had never expected the famous and highly respected Professor X to actually do something like this in public.Full novel: In Marvel: My Wife Is Hela, the Goddess of Death — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The mutants’ current situation in society really couldn’t be blamed entirely on humanity.

The mutants themselves had plenty of problems.

Relying on the superpowers granted by their X-gene, many considered themselves superior to ordinary humans.

From there, it was only natural for some of them to become arrogant and do excessive things.

Professor X himself was proof of that.

If even the highly respected Professor X was like this, one could imagine what the other mutants were like.

And to be fair, if Ye Bai were a politician and learned that such a powerful group as the mutants existed, wouldn’t his first thought be to try to control them?

When faced with a terrifying weapon, the first thing you should think about is how to bring it under your control.

Only when that proves impossible would you consider destroying it.

What kind of idiot would immediately choose to be hostile toward the mutants?

The mutants had brought much of this upon themselves.

Their arrogance and belief that they were superior had led them to the situation they were in today.

Put simply, the mutants had brought this upon themselves.

Ye Bai didn’t deny that some mutants were victims and completely innocent.

But among those innocent mutants, Professor X definitely wasn’t one of them.

Originally, Ye Bai had been planning to become friends with Professor X and perhaps ask him for help dealing with some of the trouble caused by mutants in the future.

But after what happened, to hell with being friends.

If any mutant dared to provoke him in the future, Ye Bai would simply kill them.

He wouldn’t leave a single survivor.

If there hadn’t been so many people around, Ye Bai wouldn’t even have spared Professor X.

Anyone who dared pry into his secrets deserved to die.

Looking at the furious Ye Bai, the awkward expression on Professor X’s face froze.

He truly hadn’t wanted things to turn out like this.

Who could have imagined that simply taking a casual look through Ye Bai’s memories would result in such a situation?

But now that their conflict had been established, Professor X couldn’t change what had happened even if he was unwilling to accept it.

All he could do was find a way to salvage the situation.

Of course, there was another option.

He could simply make Ye Bai disappear.

As long as Ye Bai died, there would naturally be no more conflict between them.

With this thought in mind, Professor X ultimately said nothing and merely watched as Ye Bai disappeared into the crowd.

The information he had originally intended to tell Ye Bai also remained unspoken.

“Professor, wasn’t what you did a little too much?”

Behind Professor X, Jean Grey frowned as well.

Even Jean couldn’t approve of what Professor X had done.

“It was somewhat inappropriate, but it was also necessary.”

“Mr.

Ye Bai is one of the people I believe we could potentially cooperate with.

I had to understand his true feelings toward the mutant community.”

“I didn’t want things to turn out this way.”

Professor X sighed.

His plan for today could be considered a complete failure.

Originally, Professor X had planned to leave Ye Bai with a good impression first and then determine his true attitude toward the mutant community.

If everything went well, Professor X would then tell Ye Bai that he had recently attracted the attention of Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants.

Ideally, Ye Bai would become helpless and frightened.

Professor X could then appear as his savior and tell Ye Bai that he could deal with Magneto and the Brotherhood.

That way, he could successfully establish himself as someone extremely important in Ye Bai’s mind.

Once that happened, Ye Bai’s wealth and enormous social influence would both become assets for the mutant community.

Unfortunately, no matter how perfect the plan looked, something had still gone wrong.

If Ye Bai knew what Professor X was thinking, he would probably gain an entirely new understanding of these so-called superheroes.

But in a way, it made sense.

After all, this was a real Marvel world.

····

Ye Bai’s first contact with the mutants had undoubtedly been a failure.

Even now, Ye Bai was still holding a grudge over what Professor X had done, completely unaware that he had already attracted the attention of another mutant leader.

At this moment, Ye Bai was talking with Tony Stark.

“Mr.

Ye Bai, right?

I’ve heard of you.”

“Although I really hate to admit it, I’m actually a loyal fan of yours.

Could you sign something for me later?”

Tony Stark had completely abandoned the arrogance he displayed in front of the public and instead acted like an excited fan, leaving Ye Bai rather surprised.

It actually made perfect sense.

Tony Stark was undoubtedly a technology fanatic, but who said technology fanatics didn’t read novels?

In a certain sense, Ye Bai and Tony Stark were also the same kind of people.

They were both geniuses.

One was a genius in literature, while the other was a genius in technology.

Perhaps this was what people meant when they said that great talents appreciated one another.

“Of course.

I’m always very generous with my fans.

Especially since your company’s stock has already made me a considerable amount of money.”

Ye Bai smiled and clinked glasses with Tony.

He wasn’t opposed to Tony’s friendliness.

After all, nearly all of Ye Bai’s wealth was tied up in Stark Industries, and he was counting on Tony to keep paying him dividends in the future.

Besides, making friends with outstanding people was enjoyable in itself.

After chatting for a while longer, the two exchanged phone numbers and agreed to hang out together when they had the time.

Then Tony spotted an attractive woman and left Ye Bai to go talk to her.

Ye Bai glanced at the watch on his wrist and realized that it was getting late, so he decided it was time to leave.

However, just then, the Russian woman Natasha, whom he had met before, appeared in front of him.

“Great author, we meet again.

Can I buy you a drink?”

Natasha flashed a charming smile and deliberately adjusted her neckline in an attempt to make herself more alluring.

That kind of temptation would have been effective against an ordinary man, but it had absolutely no effect on Ye Bai.

If anything, it made him feel even more annoyed.

Originally, Ye Bai had still been willing to play along with S.H.I.E.L.D.

for a while.

Now, however, he had completely lost his patience and decided to lay all the cards on the table.

“Ms.

Natasha, put away your tricks.”

“And tell the S.H.I.E.L.D.

agents behind you to stop testing me.

Otherwise, I can’t guarantee that I won’t take things too far.”

With that, Ye Bai turned around and left the banquet without caring about Natasha’s suddenly cold expression.

After these two “coincidental” encounters with Natasha, Ye Bai would have to be an idiot not to understand what was happening.

That scheming one-eyed Fury clearly wanted to use a beauty strategy on him.

Ye Bai obviously wasn’t going to fall for it.

Hela, however, was another matter.

If this somehow reached Hela’s ears and she misunderstood what had happened, that would be the real trouble.

To prevent such a situation, Ye Bai didn’t even bother talking to Natasha and simply turned around and left.

He wasn’t desperate for female attention, nor was he the kind of man who lost his head whenever he saw an attractive woman.

He already had Hela as his wife.

Why would he be interested in Natasha?

Watching Ye Bai leave without giving her the slightest face, Natasha was genuinely irritated and couldn’t help wondering whether her charm had somehow stopped working.

Still, perhaps this was for the best.

She was already tired of having to use her appearance to get close to targets.

As for Ye Bai, Natasha did have some admiration for him, but it was only because of his loyalty toward Hela.

In reality, Ye Bai wasn’t her type either.
