In the end, the X-Men still didn’t stop Cyclops.

It was worth letting him try.

Besides, Professor X’s condition was extremely serious.

If they didn’t find a solution soon, he really would die.

So all the X-Men could do was hope everything went smoothly for Cyclops.

Otherwise, the professor really would be finished.

····

Nick Fury felt deeply insulted.

Who was he?

The director of S.H.I.E.L.D., the king of spies, and Earth’s invisible guardian.

Yet those damned politicians had actually treated him like a diplomat and sent him to handle foreign affairs.

It wasn’t just a waste of talent.

It was an insult.

Yes, just an hour ago, the leader of the United States had called Nick Fury and asked him to attend a diplomatic meeting.

Nick Fury had been so angry about this diplomatic meeting that he’d lost count of how many times he’d scratched his head.

Fortunately, he was already bald.

Otherwise, who knew how much hair he would have lost?

However, when Nick Fury arrived at the diplomatic conference room, he became puzzled.

The diplomatic meeting was of a much higher level than he had expected.

Not only was the U.S.

president attending personally, but important figures from major countries around the world had also arrived.

“Is this a meeting with aliens?”

Nick Fury wondered to himself.

With this kind of turnout, even Wakanda probably wouldn’t receive this much attention.

“Nick Fury, do you know who we’re meeting this time?

You don’t see a gathering this large very often.”

Beside Nick Fury, his old colleague Alexander Pierce quietly asked him.

Nick Fury remained expressionless and slowly shook his head.

Although he trusted Alexander Pierce, he genuinely knew nothing about the purpose of this meeting.

Soon, as one participant after another took their seats, this unprecedented diplomatic conference officially began.

The first person to take the stage was the president of the United States, Mr.

Trump.

Mr.

Trump walked slowly to the center of the podium with his distinctive stride before launching into an elaborate speech in his usual storytelling style.

To be honest, Nick Fury wasn’t particularly fond of the president.

Of everything he said, Nick Fury only paid attention to a few important points.

One was:

“We have been found by new friends.”

Another was:

“Humanity is not alone.”

And the final one was:

“Let us welcome our friends from Asgard.”

Nick Fury knew about Asgard.

It was part of Norse mythology, after all.

Of course, he also knew that Asgard actually existed.

Not long ago, a certain God of Thunder had even descended to Earth in New Mexico.

Could that Asgardian God of Thunder have come back?

Nick Fury vaguely guessed the truth.

When Thor finally appeared, he confirmed it.

That’s right.

This diplomatic meeting had been arranged to welcome Thor.

Just as Odin had instructed, Thor had contacted the highest-ranking human officials after arriving on Earth.

Once he proved that Asgard truly existed, he immediately became an honored guest.

“Mortals of Midgard, greetings.

I am Thor, the God of Thunder from Asgard.”

Thor’s very first sentence made the corners of the surrounding humans’ mouths twitch.

This God of Thunder really knew how to annoy people.

Thor didn’t see anything wrong with it, however.

He thought he was simply speaking the truth with complete sincerity.

“I have come to your Midgard for two main reasons.”

“First, Asgard hopes to establish good diplomatic relations with the people of Midgard.

We are all part of the Nine Realms, so we should naturally be allies.”

“Second, I hope you can use your resources to help me find my sister.”

Those were the two purposes of Thor’s visit.

First, he wanted the mortals to know that Asgard truly existed.

Second, he wanted to use humanity’s vast resources to search for Hela.

“May I ask what your sister’s name is?”

Someone raised a question.

After all, they didn’t even know her name.

How were they supposed to find her?

Besides, Norse mythology had never mentioned that Thor had an older sister.

That was only natural.

Most so-called mythology was made up by humans.

How could it possibly correspond perfectly with reality?

“You’re right.

My sister’s name is Hela.

As for what she looks like, I’ve never actually met her, but she should be quite attractive.”

Thor realized his mistake and quickly filled in the missing information.

Unfortunately, they had only been given a name and no description of her appearance.

Finding her among the countless people on Earth was going to be extremely difficult.

Many people frowned as they began wondering how they could possibly help Thor locate his sister among the billions of people on Earth.

Only Nick Fury nearly spat out his tea when he heard the name Hela.

If his skin hadn’t been so dark, his face probably would have turned red from choking.

But Nick Fury didn’t have time to worry about that.

His mind was completely occupied by Thor’s words.

“Hela?

Hela!”

Nick Fury suddenly remembered where he had heard that name before.

Could it really be such a coincidence?

When he connected it with Hela’s almost nonexistent past, the possibility began to seem increasingly likely.

Could this Hela really have fallen from the sky?

Nick Fury was so deep in thought that he failed to notice that his reaction had been completely observed by his friend.

The man known as Alexander Pierce was publicly the chairman of the World Security Council and a senior S.H.I.E.L.D.

official.

In reality, he was a proud member of Hydra.

After carefully observing Nick Fury’s reaction, Pierce began thinking.

“Could Nick Fury know where this Hela is?”

“No.

I need to investigate this.”

As someone capable of infiltrating Hydra into S.H.I.E.L.D.

at such a high level, Pierce’s abilities were beyond question.

His ability to read people’s expressions was no worse than Nick Fury’s.

Based solely on Nick Fury’s reaction, he had already connected enough pieces to suspect something was going on.

Soon, the meeting ended, and everyone began leaving the conference room.

Thor departed surrounded by numerous senior human officials.

At this moment, he was the center of attention.

Nick Fury didn’t leave with the other officials.

Instead, he silently walked to a corner.

The first thing he did was raise the security classification of all information concerning Hela and Ye Bai to the highest possible level.

Only Nick Fury himself, as director, would have access to it.

After completing this, he finally relaxed somewhat.

“If my guess is correct, Ye Bai really is one lucky bastard.”

Nick Fury couldn’t help feeling a little envious.

Marrying a genuine goddess as his wife was even more absurd than something out of a movie.

Could Ye Bai have saved the entire galaxy in his previous life?

Otherwise, how could someone be this lucky?

What Nick Fury didn’t know was that Alexander Pierce was already investigating Hela as well.

He first entered the S.H.I.E.L.D.

database, but found absolutely nothing.

“Strange.

I clearly looked at the report yesterday.”

Pierce was puzzled.

He distinctly remembered reading a report about Hela just yesterday.

So why couldn’t he find it now?
