Most people will spend the rest of their lives unaware that the percentage of stillbirths is about 1% to 1.4% globally, and that in Japan that number is about 0.17% to 0.31%.

Safe to say that with the modernisation of society and the development of medical technology, the mortality rate among newborns is close to zero, and preventing unfortunate circumstances is as easy as having a check-up at a nearby hospital to make sure everything is alright.

Why do i care you may ask, well let's just say that when you spend the last 8 to 10 hours battling the odds and giving it your all to be born or in my case be reborn, just to die again in the last step because you have exhausted yourself and the trauma of the experience you will damn well remember those numbers that you searched online one day either because you were bored or your own macabre curiosity.Full novel: In MHA with Ajin’s power — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Here I am, the first ever reincarnated person to die at birth because my new birth parents thought it was a good idea to give birth to me at home with only one nurse, ‘ bloody mess I tell you.’ So yeah, here I am again.

First question? If I'm dead, how is it that I'm still here thinking and not on my way for my next reincarnation? ‘ Simply put, I came back from the dead, and as I said, I didn't get reincarnated a second time- I'm not that lucky, or am I?’

‘ Can't say’; as I told you, I came back from the dead; resurrection, immortality, regeneration, call it whatever you want. In any case, that’s how I survived that whole ordeal.

Second, didn't ‘ you coming back from the dead’ cause a commotion? The answer to that question would be no, I mean sure there was some panicking, mostly from the nurse who by then was holding my lifeless body and nearly dropped me, from my new parents my mother who at that time was being comforted by my father I mean losing a child or in my case thinking you have lost your child is not good for your mental state, screaming mostly from me because believe me on this, coming back to life is painful and a lot crying that being everyone including the nurse but that's beside the point.

Why was there no commotion? I mean, in my last life, if it came to be known that a dead baby came back to life after 15 minutes of being dead without any external intervention and say the baby was in perfect shape and health, that would be cause for an extensive investigation with the possibility of kidnapping and extensive experimentation.

But no, not here because one day, nearly two hundred years ago, a luminescent baby was born.

This was the first manifestation of a quirk. Some believed this to be some sort of virus, affliction or mutation; however, the number of Quirk-wielding humans continues to increase as the years pass.

At first, people shunned those who had quirks, deeming them mutants and inhuman creatures that were a mockery of nature itself.

But all sorts of abilities continue to manifest, from water gun fingers to extra limbs and everything in between.

Quirks continued to intensify as quirkless people became the minority in society, getting drowned out by the ever-increasing number of Quirk-wielding folk.

By now, I imagine you've begun to have an understanding of my situation.

Yes, I have been reborn in the world of My Hero Academia with a quirk that seems to be related to resurrection or immortality.

….

It's now been two months since the whole mess that was my birth, and I’ll tell you, being a newborn sucks.

You spend most of your time asleep; you can't control your limbs or body, you shit and piss yourself, and the crying oh my god, the crying. Have you ever been annoyed at your own voice?

‘ Lies all those novels are lies’ I’m telling you, in most of them you read that the protagonist is able to control when he cries or he puts himself to sleep just by thinking hard, lies I can't control whenever I'm awake or asleep the crying start at the slightest disturbance, I puke half of what I eat and the worst of it all is the boredom that is driving me slowly insane.

My shameful days aside, let's talk about me and how I ended up in this situation. Not much to say, though. My name is, or at least used to be, Jason Avery grew up an orphan, and I was an otaku; that's why, at the age of 28, after years of saving from my job, I decided to go to Japan to have the otaku experience.

And I've got it all right, meaning a very, very close and intimate meeting with truck-kun that sends my ass straight to my Hero Academia world, not my first choice but better than some others like Berserk, Warhammer or Boruto.

The last one being a joke, really, to whoever or whatever sent me here, thank you.

Now, from what I have learned, my new name is Arata Seiji. My new parents are Arata Satoshi, my father, with an average build and black eyes. He has short dark brown hair, often styled conservatively for work, I presume. What he does or what his quirk is, I don't know yet, but we have nothing but time to figure it out.

With clean-shaven, featuring a structured jawline. He mostly has a calm expression with an easy-going attitude.

My mother, Himoko, is slightly taller than my father with a slender build. She has long dark hair, tied back neatly in a ponytail, with brown eyes and a warm and approachable expression. She is a stay-at-home mom, and her quirk lets her manifest her emotions into color.

I was scared at first, but I learned that it was harmless.

They are a very loving couple, and despite a rather how to say this “shocking” first encounter, I can see them growing on me in the future.

I don't say that out of some trauma due to the lack of parental figures in my past life and definitely not because of stockholm syndrome, it not as if living at the mercy of people that you have to rely on 24/7 for even the most basic of your needs for an extended period of time, can affect the mind of anyone ‘ no mam’ I am a strong and independent immortal baby, now ‘ can you clean me, please mother. I think I peed myself’ like I was saying ‘ they're good folks'.
